...I was tasked with finding a digital projector for work and it was left to me to source something reasonably priced that we could use for the occasional presentation. It didn't need to be flashy just something which would do the job and have a reasonable output. I looked around various sites and ended up looking around the Misco site as I have used them in the past and been happy with their service and they do stock a fairly wide range. I found the NEC NP100A on there which is an SVGA Projector with 2000 ANSI lumens at a price of £249.99 (£287.49 inc VAT). It looked like it would fit the bill so I placed my order. Nec = Never Even Consider it!

Advantages: Video camera and calling capability, good compared to other phones available
Disadvantages: Very big and bulky, a pain to use, generally not very good

Ideal for NEC Halls

Advantages: Great location for NEC, Large beds

...I used this hotel when visiting the Caravan and Boat Show in the NEC Halls and also the next day a different hall for the France exhibition. It is conveninetly located as you drive past all the halls to get to it. It would be an approx 15 minute walk from the hotel to the main halls and apparently there is a shorter route that can be taken but when I was there this was blocked up or a 2 minute trip in the car. The hotel has been extended in the last year and is very popular so it's advised to book in advance. This hotel frequently has offers on the room rates, so it's worth keeping an eye out for. The staff are very polite and friendly as soon as you walk in, checking in was very quick and efficient. Jump to LCD with NEC

Advantages: Bright & clear display. Fast update times. Great for photo editing and games!
Disadvantages: Expensive. Fiddly 'stick' control on front panel.

The second thing I learnt is that there are four main types of LCD panel: - TN + Film - IPS (superceded by Super IPS, or S-IPS) - MVA - PVA I shan't go into the details - suffice to say that if you wish to read more about them, then a quick Google for "Types of LCD panel" will return most of the information you could require. To cut a long story short though, S-IPS is the preferred type of display for photo editing because of it's wide viewing angle. Before I finally get onto the device itself, it's worth mentioning the last piece of advice that I found, which settled me upon this monitor. Apparently, the best monitors are Eizo. The NEC is a winner

Advantages: Really cheap multi function phone
Disadvantages: the 3 network, no MP3 ringtone

I checked reviews on a whole stack of flip phones and they were mainly out of my price range or on such expensive contracts there was no way I could afford them by the month. I found the NEC as an offer for £30 a month, one year contract with the first 10 months free...yes 10 months of a one year contract free. I worked out with this deal I would get all my calls and texts for a year for £60 PLUS the flip phone of my dreams. NEC LT25 Review- A++++

Advantages: Crystal clear picture, great resolution, very cost-effective!
Disadvantages: Inputs and configuration, slightly complex.

...you know the feeling! Anyway, i did eventually muddle through although the instructions were of little help. Throught the projector i am currently running: Sky TV, an Xbox 360, a laptop and a dvd player. So, in conclusion, its great but its a little tricky to set up. Nonetheless, A+++++ Well done NEC!
