Well Versed
Advantages: Perfectly adequate features, compact, beautiful design, brand name, cheap, perfect for newbies and undemanding users.
Disadvantages: Tinny speakers, fairly short battery life, paltry software bundle could've done with more RAM but that's what you get for the price range.
...In over 10yrs of PC computing I've owned 3 desktops and 2 palmtops, but never a laptop. To rectify that my mum purchased a NEC Versa M500e (the e I presume differentiates it from the slightly higher model?) primarily for herself, but everyone else is having a go too. With ability to share broadband it seems a nice time to get one.
This Versa notebook doesn't have the braun of higher end...

DB500 - stands for 500 Decibels when it rings
Advantages: None
Disadvantages: An anachronism
...The NEC DB500 is the worst phone I have owned since the early 1990’s. Its design is old fashioned, it is cumbersome compared with today’s technology, and it is so lacking in facilities to make it a real dinosaur.
The battery life is about two days – compared with 8 to 10 days on the new Nokia range, and it does not even have a simple calculator, which would be handy for foo...

NEC = Not Exactly Clever
Advantages: Ipod-cool looks, bright screen, large buttons, long battery life
Disadvantages: No features, weak camera, poor menu selection and options

When my contract with Three came up for renewal I wanted to move towards Pay As You Go (simply because I just don't use the phone in that way any more) and I wanted to move away from the slightly chunky, uber-complicated Motorola E1000 that I was using.
