Disadvantages: Scarabs can't be bought seperately, occasionally prone to breaking.

Excellent Multi player, but poor single player

Disadvantages: Single player and campaign modes

...I purchased this expansion after as the original game and first expansion were excellent on single player modes, with good story lines and brilliant game play. However after the first two games I have to say I was somewhat disappointed with this one as there is no real storyline to the single player campaigns. Although the gameplay, variety of units and races, and graphics are all very good, I think this is sorely let down by this fact, and will quickly lead to boredom for those who enjoy an interesting single player game. On the other hand, for multiplayer this game is excellent! The addition of the Necrons makes internet and LAN battles just that bit more interesting. So summary of good points and bad points: Good - Gameplay, graphics, maps, variety of units and races, multiplayer. Bad - Single player campaigns repetitive...

The Living Must Perish....

Advantages: Two New Races, new campaign mode, stand-alone capability
Disadvantages: Some game balance issues in multiplayer

...Dark Crusade is an expansion pack to the PC real-time strategy game, Warhammer 40,000 : Dawn of War. This pack adds two new playable races, these being the Tau, a race considered relatively new to the galaxy, but one that has gone through rapid advancement, and the ancient and terrifying Necrons, beings of living metal who exist only to ensure that everything else does not. Sound nice don't they? This expansion pack was released in 2006, and I obtained it as part of the "Dawn of War Anthology" boxed set, which contains the original Dawn of War, Dawn of War : Winter Assault (the first expansion pack which I will cover in another review) and Dark Crusade. At the present moment these are all the expansion packs available for Dawn of War, with a fourth, currently named Dawn of War : Soulstorm, due for release early next year...

The dark crusade is upon us!

Advantages: Addictive game play, great graphics, endless possiblities.
Disadvantages: needs the other games to use all teams.

...Dawn of war: dark crusade is the third game in the Dawn of war series and although it follows Winter assault in order the campaign game play is entirely different to its predecessors. Instead of being given a set team to play with, you are given a choice of one of seven different teams, five of which appeared in the first two predecessors of dark crusade: the space marines, chaos, elder, Orks, imperial guard and two brand new teams that appear on dark crusade: the Tau and the Necrons. The game play for this game is completely different. When you first start a campaign you pick the team that you wish to control and you go about conquering each individual part of the planet as you go about your quest for total control. The darkest of crusades

Advantages: two of the best races, cool units

...*The first paragraph of my previous reviews were missing, don't know how, hope the same doesn't happen to all my reviews. Dark Crusade is the second expansion to Warhammer 4000: Dawn of War and undoubtedly one of the best expansions ever. The best thing about this one is that it is a standalone expansion and does not require the original game to play. As most of the expansions these days require the original game, it is great to have an expansion like this one, especially for the people who are new to the game as they won't have to go searching for the original game after they get the Dark Crusade. The game includes all the races from the original, with two new ones added - the Necrons and the Tau Empire. The player will need to have the original for playing multiplayer with the other races though. MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS...

Dawn of a Gaming Revolution!

Advantages: Great Graphics, Game play and generaly an all-round game!
Disadvantages: Gets boring after a month or so

...Dawn of War is a brilliant strategy game with good graphics interesting game play. It is based on the popular hobby of warhammer 40,000 made by Games Workshop. If you have no idea what Games Workshop is than i will give you the basics. In 40,000(Its set in the year 40,000 hence the name) you can be a variety of races of humans or aliens like Space Marines, Eldar, Tau (Which I was when I was young), Orks and Chaos Marines. There are two expansion packs called Winter Assault and Dark Crusade and they include more teams like the Imperial Guard and Necrons. Plus there is a special surprise at the end of both of the campaigns which i wont ruin for you! Advantages: Brilliant gameplay, can play for hours on end, everything customizable.
Disadvantages: Dark Eldar are overpowered. All 3 games take up lot's of space. Graphics becoming outdated
