I HAVE A NEED FOR SPEED!

Advantages: Good graphics and control
Disadvantages: long load times

...NEED FOR SPEED: SHIFT Unlike previous games in the franchise there are no high speed chases from the cops, this one focuses on more of an authentic track racing game. The career mode is lengthy with over 200 events to complete and as you win and are promoted up the leagues until you finally reach the World Tour. The modes vary from standard races, time trials, drift challenges, endurance events and car battles. You advance the leagues by earning stars through either your rank in a race, precision points, aggression points and by completing bonus objectives. Depending on your driving style you will earn special medals that will be added to your drivers profile. Your profile constantly changes with each race and is a good indicator of the type of driver you are. With the medals and points your driver profile...

Need For Speed: Shift

Advantages: Looks Good, Sounds Good, Great Cars
Disadvantages: Over a Bit Too Quickly

...The latest installment of the Need for Speed, Shift, series reverts (thankfully) back to the track-racing percision of ProStreet. After a few more dyer attempts at the even-more-overdone-than-WW2-shooters street racing scene, the new game heads back to some of the most popular race tracks in the world. Slightly Mad Studios have managed to create an accessible racer that's easy for a beginner to pick and jump into, but at the same times appeals to experts. Anyone who has previously played any career driven racer before will know what to expect; you start with a small amount of money to buy a bottom-of-the-barrel car, finish a few races and upgrade your car, finish a few more and buy a better car. There are plenty of cars to choose from and they all behave differently making the driving experience for each unique. The cars are broke up...

Need for Speed: Undercover

Advantages: Car Handling
Disadvantages: Very Glitched, Repetitive

...I was a big fan of the 'Need for Speed : Underground' games, back when all you had to do was get to the starting point and then race. There was no story and there was no running away from the cops every five minutes. After 'Need for Speed : Underground 2' I stopped playing these games. because it moved away from the original idea of the game and because the far better 'Juiced' was on the market. But I finally decided to give one ago and here's the review for it. ~~~ Story ~~~ I was unaware that the 'Need for Speed' games had a story nowadays, so I was surprised when the game started with a cut-scene featuring real actors and actresses. I was sceptical of how much this could add to the game. The plot to the game is that you are an undercover cop trying to gain the trust of some gangsters involved in the street racing...

Need For Speed Again

Advantages: Back to the street, a lot of cars
Disadvantages: repetitive, short story

...I have had every Need For Speed game since the franchise started. However I debated for ages as to whether this was worth my money as it did get some bad reviews. The story is a step back into the street racing after Pro Street. The street setting is much better but it is also not as "boyracery" as it was in games such as Most Wanted and Underground. The storyline involves you as an undercover policeman trying to infiltrate street race gangs who are suspected in stealing cars, drug dealing etc. You then have to take down these gangs and essentially clear the streets of them. Through races, police pursuits and the new feature highway battles to boost your wheelman reputation. The storyline is good but not really a major part. Essentially you just race as per usual with a bit of a back story for some races and some races that you have...

Review of Need for Speed: Undercover (Xbox 360)

Need For Speed: Undercover

Advantages: Single player and online gameplay, graphics
Disadvantages: None

...Ea Games is primarily known to everyone through their Need For Speed series. Need For Speed: Undercover is very similar to Need For Speed: Pro Street, mostly because of the graphics. Gameplay have changed very much, but graphics are very similar. In the game, you have to complete different missions and quest, and from these missions, as usually you earn money. With money, you can buy new and better cars, and of course you can tune your cars, with different engines, and other things. It's perfect game for racing game fans, best game feeling you get with steering wheel. However everything isn't really good, there are a few problems about this game. In the beginning of the game, you are some type of racing newbie, and you have to win races to get more fame and money. There are different event's, like circuit racing, speeding and also...

Need For Speed: Carbon

Advantages: Single player gameplay, videos among the game, game graphics .
Disadvantages: Sterring with Wii reomote is a little bit messy .

...Electronic Arts is primarily known to everyone through their Need For Speed series. In year 2006 they completed Need For Speed: Carbon. If we compare this series to other series, It's really different and many things have changed very much. But gameplay is very similar, especially to Need For Speed: Underground 2. You ride along the streets in the city and you complete missions to conquer territories. As usually, you earn money, and also you can unlock new things for your racing car. As you know, with money you can buy new cars and different engines, transmissions and other things for your car. It's great game for racing games fans and this game gives you real racing experience. In the beginning of the game you are some kind of rookie, who earns money and earns fame by racing. There are a lot of different missions to complete, example...

Review of Need for Speed: Carbon (Wii)

Need For Speed: Shift (Xbox 360)

Advantages: Beautiful racing game, the focus is heavily on you having fun
Disadvantages: If you don't like racing games its not for you. I preferred having to run away from the police.

...Shift is the new racing game from EA. Based on the Need for Speed franchise. Although if you were after anything like the previous installments, which involved being generally illegal and driving away from the police. This game involves standard, almost arcade style racing, whilst looking absolutely amazing. The graphics are stunning and the audio of the cars is what you'd expect. Your ultimate aim is to get into the Need For Speed racing championships after you have gained enough Stars for completing races and performing certain tasks during them, like reaching a certain speed or taking the racing line on all the corners. The handling of the cars are great, and there is outstanding attention to detail on the insides of the cars. I imagine that the development team behind the game wants you to play with a racing wheel and using...

Review of Need for Speed: Shift (Xbox 360)

Need for speed: Undercove. No need for speed in buying this game!

Advantages: Good story line. Good use of the wii controller. Great sound effects and audio.
Disadvantages: Poor graphics that tend to spoil the game!

...giving much time for you to engage in combat. This does affect game play and saddly not for the good. I do like the fact that the story unfolds through live action sequences, probably the best part of the game! unfortunately. I find the graphics are far better in this live action film than when the games is in full flow. But i will give credit when due. This game has some brilliant sound effects, the soundtrack is suitable, the controls are good and easy to use and the storyline is actually interesting and keeps you going! Unfortunately in comparison to others of its genre Need for Speed: Undercover (wii) is not the best around. I would have to give it a 5.5 out of 10. It has bags of potentiall and i have been told that its far better on a different console such as the PS3 and Xbox....

Need For Speed Undercover

Advantages: Graphics, story, cars race etc.
Disadvantages: Amount of Story

...NFS Undercover is the latest game in the series. this game tries to reclaim the series from ProStreet which many people did not like due to the lack of variability and street racing. This game brings back the old style cop chases and also brings in modes from ProStreet put alters them to make them more interesting to fans as they involve the cops and good olkd fashioned street racing. Cop chases are the highlight of this game with their growing tactics and arsenal of vehicles it can turn any race into a full frontal attack fromt the police. Modes such as circuit, sprint, cost to state and cop takeout. They now add outrun and highway battle, Highway battle takes you to the highway add pits you against the greatest drivers to test out the speed and manouverability of your car therough the mass of citizens. Outrun lets you race around...

Need for speed carbon

Advantages: Better graphics than it's predessors
Disadvantages: Not as good cop chases, too dark

...Need for speed carbon is the next in the series of street racing and pits you in a new city to take over. It blends many of the ideas from the previous games (most wanted and the undergrounds) and forms a condensed version for you to play through. Gameplay: The gameplay of need for speed carbon is very similar to that of most wanted (the previous game in the series) and the cars all handle in a similar fashion as before: Once you have upgraded your car it will be easier to navigate tracks and outmaneuver the cops. At the start of this game the story picks up as it left off in most wanted. You have left Rockport city and are heading for a new city which you'll predictably have to conquer through various races and boss battles. You are thrown into the story and only given scraps of information and you have to find out more as you...
