...~~~Neff built in oven U1442~~~ We refitted our kitchen this time last year so I'm reviewing the items we carefully selected. Our previous kitchen was very basic but we'd saved quite a few penny's so spent a lot of time researching on what gadgets we could have to make our kitchen truly amazing. Our previous oven was a double free gas standing oven which was well past its sell by date! so we opted to buy a built in electric double oven. ~Cost: In total our oven cost £779 which was pretty expensive compared to some of the similar models but we did quite a lot of research and was very pleased with the reviews on this and other Neff models. Neff D96M5 60cm silver chimney hood

Advantages: stylish, inexpensive, functional and practical
Disadvantages: maybe a bit noisy

I solicited some reviews from my colleagues about 2nd level appliance manufacturers and Neff came out as one. 1st level in my opinion - bosch, whirlpool, hotpoint, zanussi 2nd level - neff, smeg 3rd level - miele, fischer/paykel Having never heard of Neff before I duly ordered the integrated appliance brochures and was amazed at the style, functionality and practicality of their products. I selected this hood because I have a small space and the theme was silver, contemporary . It is very stylish and has 2 halogen lights, more than sufficient for the space it covers. Also the grill is dishwasher safe, so I put that in my Neff dishwasher! It has easy to select controls. as for noise, i feel it is a bit noisy but did not have the opportunity to...

...What a find! There aren't many really large integrated fridges on the market but extensive research kept bringing this one up as the best and my experience so far confirms my research. It doesn't fail on the main reason for buying it - space. It has excellent capacity with superb door storage. The vegetable drawers are large and keep everything amazingly fresh. The split shelf is an ingenious idea and the tube holder (for garlic puree/tomato puree etc.) a nice extra touch. There are 2 egg holders for 6 eggs each but because the door shelves/storage are curved you wont fit both on one shelf. (Not really a problem though as ample room for everything anyway) Its extremely quiet,well made and with the Neff reputation for quality, its perfect. Although quite expensive its well worth the money. I've put this review on to save you going insane...

This company wasn't the cheapest on price, partly because they don't do free delivery like some other companies (delivery cost £19.99), but they had the best reviews from other customers - much better than the companies selling it for cheaper. As you can tell from the company name, they sell kitchen appliances including dishwashers, cookers, hobs, fridges, freezers, coffee machines, washing machines and tumble dryers. We ordered a Neff Hob from them late in the evening on 8 November. The website confirmed delivery would normally be in 7 days. The confirmation email stated that someone would contact me within 48 hours to confirm the order and to arrange a suitable delivery date. Sure enough, the next day I had a phone call confirming the order and arranging a delivery date for one week...

Avoid Sainsbury's Kitchen Appliances

Disadvantages: Contemptuous attitude toward the customer and consumer protection laws

...Please do not order anything from Sainsbury's Kitchen Appliances. We ordered a Zanussi washing machine and are now stuck with this faulty unusable machine, even though we paid extra for fitting and testing. When the machine runs it fills our apartment with the acrid smell of burning rubber. We reported this within 24 hours of our having received delivery of the machine yet Sainsburys will not replace it without first sending out an engineer (the earliest time the engineer will get to us is a full seven days after we reported the fault) who then will submit a report to them (Sainsburys), who will then contact Zanussi. It could easily be 3 weeks or more before we have a working machine. Surely, if a machine is reported as faulty within 24 hours of delivery, it should simply be replaced. Yes. That's the law, but Sainsburys don't see...

Neff microwave oven combi

Disadvantages: Wattage doesn't match standard microwave meals

...We purchased this to supplement a Neff single oven so that we could grill at the same time as cooking in the oven. This was a constant source of frustration with our old single oven. This combination microwave has been a revelation - it has 5 microwave wattage settings varying from 90 up to 1000 watts. The only downside being that if you are doing microwave meals they are typically cooked at around 800 watts - most counter top microwaves are around this wattage. The closest this microwave gets to the 800 watt mark is 650. The highest wattage of 1000 is only suitable for heating up liquids and not food. Having said that, the flexibility that this machine offers is amazing - it operates as an oven and a grill in its own right. However, where it comes into its own is the ability to combine microwave cooking with the oven facility...

...To be fair, i'd read the poor reviews of Trade Appliances prior to finally committing to placing my order. I was rather worried but after sitting back and thinking about it, i remembered that logically speaking, people rarely leave good reviews - on the whole. Look up reviews for any high street retailer - most of them are crap - at least 50% and if those figures were really a fair indication of what to expect - they'd all be bust. We ordered 6 appliances of Trade Kitchens - paid online - no problems. Got an email asking for a utility bill for our name and address - not a problem - we were expecting it as their website says to if like us, you want delivery to an address different to your billing address. We paid on a Sunday - after 9 working days had elsapsed we got a phone call asking if they could deliver all appliances two...

...Under no circumstances buy anything from Boots Kitchen Appliances. I bought a cooker online and was to have it delivered on a Saturday. They informed me of a 4 hour delivery slot on the previous day. It was to be delivered between 7am and 11am. I was called on 7am to inform me they were on their way. They arrived at 8am and got me out of bed. Then informed me they had a dishwasher instead of a cooker. I ask you!!! We arranged another Saturday and was informed two days before that they could not deliver. Arranged another Saturday and they did not turn up. Was not called with any explanation. On each occasion I had to compensate an electrician who I had retained to install it. I am now six weeks without a cooker and it is still ongoing. DO NOT BUY FROM BOOTS KITCHEN APPLIANCES....

Don't buy domestic appliances from Boots

Disadvantages: Endless frustration and rotten customer service

...Never try to buy a domestic appliance from Boots on-line. They twice failed to provide the item ordered and offered compensation which never came. All told terrible service and hopeless customer relations. At the beginning of January I placed an order for a fridge freezer, A few days later I was phoned to say the item had been discontinued. On further checking I was told that this was not the case, but that I would have to wait three weeks for delivery. I waited; the evening before delivery was scheduled I was left a message on my mobile (not even the courtesy of a phone call to my home phone) to say the product was discontinued.
