Vinyl Dryer Balls Make Me Itch

Advantages: Supposed to reduce drying time
Disadvantages: Gave an allergic reaction to the vinyl

...I bought myself two dryer balls after my daughter recommended them to me. They are supposed to soften fabrics and shorten drying time in the tumbler dryer and the two I bought were pink and blue and cost £1.99 from Amazon. These are hard, spiky balls that make an awful racket as they go round inside the tumbler dryer. The spikes are supposed to ?agitate? the fabric and soften it. To be honest I noticed very little difference between drying with these in the drum and leaving them out. I still prefer to use dryer sheets which give everything a softness and have a nice smell as well. Anyway, since I had bought the dryer balls, I decided to persevere and see if I could get used to them.
