New Zealand's best one-day walk - the Tongariro Crossing
Advantages: Great views, varied terrain
Disadvantages: Variable weather conditions, can get crowded
...The Tongariro Crossing has been described as "the greatest one-day walk in New Zealand". On the North Island, near to Lake Taupo, it's a demanding 17km hike across volcanic terrain. Although it can be done as part of the Tongariro Northern Circuit, a 4 day walk, it's usually done in isolation as a one-day hike, which was energetic enough for me! It's supposed to take 6-8 hours, but will obviously vary according to fitness levels and how often you want to stop.
There are a couple of bus companies that do shuttle runs to the start and end of the track - the area's not well-served by public transport. These are staggered over a couple of hours; although it's tough getting up, I'd recommend one of the earlier buses, as you beat (some of) the crowds, and have a bit more freedom to spend time along the way - you don't want to miss the last...

Premier Inn, Charing Cross Glasgow
Advantages: Close to town and all amenities
Disadvantages: none
...I have never stayed in the Premier Inn before, but I felt I had to share my experience of the past weekend.
The staff in both reception and the restaurant were fantastic, they were really helpful and made you feel right at home.
The room and bathroom were both spotless, warm and the freeview television meant that my daughter didn't miss her soaps while she was away. The bed was both big and comfortable and we didn't have any trouble getting to sleep.
We opted for the breakfast deal and we were not disappointed, the food was well cooked and warm there was also plenty of choice.
Access to the hotel was excellent for both able bodied and non-able bodied people, we didn't have a wheelchair but we did have a six month old baby and a pram, and even though it is situated next to Charing Cross rail station we didn't hear a thing from...

Animal Crossing goes urban
Advantages: You get to go to the city, better graphics
Disadvantages: Expensive, not hugely different from the DS version
...house, Tom Nook's shop, Able and Mabel's clothes shop, the Town hall and the Museum. There is also a gateway that allows you to visit other people's villages (so if you have a friend who also has Animal Crossing for the Wii then you can exchange codes and visit their village).
There are lots of hidden features in the game and different characters arrive on different days, so there is always something new to do. For example, the trees in your village will bear fruit which you can shake down and sell to Tom Nook, but if you plant a foreign fruit (different to your native species) that you get from a friend's village, then you can make far more money. Equally, some of the trees bear no fruit, but each day small amounts of money (in the Animal Crossing currency of 'bells') and furniture for your house are hidden in random trees and you can...

Animal Crossing on the Wii
Advantages: Fun, easy
Disadvantages: Repetative
...Animal Crossing: Let?s Go to the City: Wii
Until Christmas I had never heard of the animal crossing games but the other half got me this with my Wii because it looked ?cute?. I really enjoy it.
On Let?s go to the City you arrive at your town, (which you can name), after a ride on a bus and a chat with a mouse who tells you a few things and let?s you choose your name etc. When you arrive at your ton you need to head on over to the Town Hall, (you have a handy map to help you find your way around), and then buy a house. You get a hefty mortgage and you have to earn cash, (by selling bugs, fish, fruit etc), to buy clothes, furniture and of course to pay off your debt. As you pay off your mortgage you can upgrade your house which gives you another hue chunk of debt to work off!
Your town will change as the year progresses with fishing...

Crossing over
Advantages: appealing for kids, never ending gameplay
Disadvantages: not really a lot of point to the game
...We had decided to buy my daughter a Nintendo Ds for Christmas, and one of the games that she had almost begged for was Animal Crossing. I have watched her friends play this in the past and never really understood what it was all about as they told me there weren't really things to do, and you kind of did what you wanted!
This in mind when we bought the machine and game a few weeks before Christmas, there was no option but for me to play it in secret without her catching me!
The game itself is suitable for anybody aged six and over, and I would suggest no younger than this because of the depth of the game. Currently priced at £29.99, it's an averagely priced Ds game according to its popularity.
I will say that after playing for a while, and then watching my eleven year old play it, there is a lot to the game that a child may not...

Cross with Brent Cross
Advantages: Free parking
Disadvantages: Out of fashion shopping mall
...and the station was located in the middle of nowhere.
The shopping centre is about a 20-minute walk from the tube station. So we were tired before we arrived at Brent Cross.
Several buses do go to Brent Cross but I have not used them.
OPENING HOURS
Monday to Friday 9 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Saturday 9 a.m. – 7 p.m.
Sunday 11 a.m. – 5 p.m.
My wife and I visited Brent Cross on 3rd October 2001. So I am writing this opinion with events still fresh in my mind.
Here are some of the stores we perused in:
FENWICK
We parked the car just outside Fenwick, which is a large department store.
I could not believe some of the price tags. I saw a woman’s jacket, which would have cost about £30 in New Look. But here the price was £295.
The store area was quite large with the items nicely...

silver cross pop!
Advantages: folds easily, comfortable
Disadvantages: brake is not the best, rain cover also not too great
...When I first had my baby I bought a huge travel system which came with the car seat, a pram and a pushchair. The wheels were huge and so it was always awkward getting through small spaces on pavements and negotiating shops. They were also really heavy so I decided it was time to start looking for a pushchair, or a stroller as they seem to be called now thanks to the American influence.
I had always been told that Silver Cross is a name that you can trust and that it is reliable and the best on the market. My parents recalled a time when you were 'someone' if you had Silver Cross, however the market is much more competitive now with the likes of Maclaren and Mamas and Papas having some really decent push chairs too.
I didn't really know where to start looking, all I knew was that I wanted something that was simple to use, much...

Does your Matchbox car need to cross the Brio railway line ?
Advantages: Great addition to the Brio train track
Disadvantages: none
...Does your Matchbox car need to cross the Brio railway line ? If so then go to the 33388 BRIO Railway Crossing
. This crossing will allow your car to cross the line safely without being ploughed down by the wooden magnetic brio express.
This crossing does have a section of rail with male and female connectors at opposite ends
it will fit in anywhere along the track . With this crossing comes a straight piece of track too.
You do need someone to control this crossing to raise and lower the red safety barriers which are fitted in yellow wooden posts. The grey road with white road markings crosses the track. You can use toy road or draw a road onto paper or card to extend the road for the cars.
With this set also comes two free standing red crossed barrier warning safety signs these are on short wooden posts fixed to...
