...I choose to buy the GHD Salon styler about 2 years ago as it was recommended for thick hair and for the time I had them they were an excellent buy. Great quality and perfect results all-round. As with any GHD's I found I needed to use a thermal protector product to ensure my hair was free from burn and remained healthy. I found for just over a year the straighteners were of very good quality and very consistent, I was able to rely on them completely. The major issue I have with these straighteners was after just over a year of using them, whilst straightening my hair I noticed sparks coming from the wire near to my hand. Where the wire entered the GHD's it had split which was causing the sparks - I felt this should not be happening with the price and quality of the product. I've got quite long, thick hair so I decided to recently buy the GHD Salon Styler because this one has the largest heating plates and so I can get a lot of hair in each section through the irons. The heating plates are different from that of ordinary straighteners because they are made from a ceramic material meaning they are gold coloured instead of the usual silver colour. The ceramic, unlike regular metal plates is said to reduce frizz and damaging impact on the hair. GHD Salon Size Straighteners

...I purchased my first pair of GHD hair straighteners back in 2000 when they first hit the UK market. With my hair being so thick and unmanageable I decided on the chunky salon size straighteners for a bit of extra money. These were possibly the best purchase I have ever made as they have actually made my hair healthier than it has ever been before. Gone are the days of wiry, frizzy hair - hello sleek and tamed tresses. With their extra large plates they cover more hair in one swoop than your average straightener and there is no need to repeat hair which has already been blitzed. ...GHD's which stands for good hair days are a company who first specialised in making ceramic hair straightners and have now branched into making hair products such as shampoos, sprays and treatments to accompany their hair straightners. Id previously owned a pair of ceramic hairstraightners and they did an ok job. Id always wanted a pair of ghd's as my friends raved about them and my hairdresser always used them on my hair, but thought I couldn't justify the price tag. However my boyfriend heard me raving about them and got me pair for christmas....lucky me. I tried them out and they are amazing. I own the salon styler which has wider plates and is more effective if you have longer thicker hair like me. They also do a thin plate one for short hair and now a hair straightner for men aswell called the mini styler ~design...

GHD hot pink kiss hair stylers.. well worth every kiss!!

Advantages: styles your hair in so many ways.. curles, straight, waves and so much more

...GHD hair straightners are something i really could not live without. I have got the Limited edition IV Kiss ones and although the price is what seems redicuoulsly high at £135 they are worth every penny! I`ve had so many hair straightners in the past, cheep ones because i didnt want to spend that amount, i am now glad i did at last splash out on these!! They come in a box, roughly the size of a shoe box, in one side is the GHD stylers and on the side that lifts open there is a packet of 3 GHD lipglosses in a small little box which are also fabulous. There is an instruction manual and a book containing a list of all the other products available by the GHD company. ...Last christmas i was bought these ghds , after wanting them for ages but not having the money for them. This particualar styler has wide plates which is easy too use on thick hair - like mine. Although they are highly priced at around one hundred pounds , they are worth every single penny. I use them most morning and find them quick too heat up - generally under a minute. They also straighten my hair quickly and effectivly. Although the heat on these straightners is extremly hot , i would recommend these over any other brand of hair straightners that i have used over the years , my hairdresser has also told me that they are better for your hair despite the intense heat - you only have too run them over a section of hair once too straighten it.
