The Hotel The hotel is just off the A34 approximately 15 minutes outside the City Centre of Oxford, and is easily accessible whether you are approaching from the north or the south. A New Life In Oxford

Advantages: history, good mix of old/new, good housing,shops,relaxed atmosphere
Disadvantages: roads,transport, expense, tourists & students

...Oxford...think of Oxford and it cunjures up all the usual stereotypical images - upper class uni students drinking Pimms or punting on the river; streets full of cyclists and Inspector Morse bimbling about looking for clues. However, one should never read a book by its rather dog-earred cover, as they say. Oxford is quite a charming place, which doesn't uphold all of its cliched values although it is true to say students & bikes do dominate the place in equal numbers. However, the town is much more than the sum of its parts. Like all towns big or small, it has it good & bad points - poverty, homelessness, crime etc, but these little foibles never get noticed cus of all the picture-card motifs & stereotyping listed above. No mum it's not a petrol station, it's the Holiday Inn Oxford.

Advantages: Great Price. Good location for roads. Next to park and ride, cheaper than paying for parking!
Disadvantages: Another Holiday Inn, nothing that unique about it. Surly reception staff.

We have had a rather turbulent year so my brother and I felt it was necessary to take my mother and father away for a birthday celebration as a family. After a good trawl of the internet we decided to visit Oxford. OXFORD TUBE - SIMPLY AND EASY TO USE

Advantages: stressfree, quick, easy to use

...We went to London on Saturday to see The Sound Of Music at the London Palladium. As accommodation is expensive in London, we decided to stay at our usual Premier Travel Inn at Didcot and drive in. However, somebody recommended the Oxford Tube, so we decided to give ourselves a stress free trip and not have to worry about parking and booked the Oxford Tube instead. What is the Oxford Tube? Well, The Oxford Tube is a bus service that at peak times runs every 15 minutes between Oxford and London. We were very happy with the Tube and will definitely be using it again. There are a number of stops in Oxford where you can get on and off, namely: Speedwell Street, St Aldgates, Gloucester Green, High Street, St Clements, Oxford Brookes University, Headington, Gladstone Road, Green Road and Sandhills. Low down on the new store on Oxford Street!

Advantages: Cheap clothes and shoes

...I?ve never been a fan of New Look stores to be honest as I always found their shops to be messy and their clothes of poor quality. However a new store has just opened in Oxford Street in London and so much promotion has been made that I decided to go and have a look . Location: The store is located on ?Marble Arch? end of Oxford street almost opposite Allders. There is no signs outside with the name of the shop at the moment (well, there wasn?t any yesterday!!!) but you can?t really miss it as it is very shiny (you?ll understand why in a minute!!). There is no doors to get to the shops but just some stairs and what stairs!!!! It is very difficult to explain but the step of the stairs has some kind of little bubbles on them (and throughout the store) and the bit that liaise the step is made of mirrors therefore when you walk up...

...The aura surrounding Oxford is one which contributes significantly to the pressure on students who are accepted to the university. Not only do they have to contend with very intense workloads and deadlines, but they have to finish term without collapsing and return home to face the curiosity (and often anticipation) of friends and family - making it difficult to admit that the experience may not be as rewarding as it seemed initially. My own experience of Oxford (so far, as a 1st year) has been very mixed and very intense. After a little think we decided on Oxford, so headed straight for the hotelclub.net website and booked 2 nights in the Four Pillars Oxford Spires Hotel partially due to the fact that we had never stayed in a Four Spires hotel as they only have about 5 hotels all in the Oxford area. The hotel is easy to find as it is located on the main road into Oxford, just off the A34 which is best go to from Junction 13 of the M4.
