...New York can be a scary place if you don't know what you are doing... New York is probably most famous for its sky line buildings and the statue of Libety. New York is also the setting for the very popular t.v fit series F.R.I.E.N.D.S... I've only been to New York once and I loved it... it's great for shopping and stuff. I went to Central Park, it was ok, not what I expected though... Still I like New York, and if you are in America you should visit New York... But people always told me to stay away from alleys and stuff, just incase!... Read review

...New York, New York, there are movies, songs, books named after this city of dreams. It has everything and anything. I went last fall with my family and it was the best week I have ever had in my life, I stayed in the Waldorf Astoria which is one of the most beautiful and elegant hotels you could ever stay in! Dont let people say that " the Plaza is the best hotel in New York becuse it's not its the Waldorf for sure. There is so much to do in New Yorkand the whole place is like one giantfilm set, you have Time Square where I say Fight Club because it is an R and if you are with your parents you can see it your under 17 and I was 14 but in Scotland i'd have to be 18 with or without parental consent, Empire State buliding which was breath taking from the top, statue of libirty which I never got over to see as the que was far to long... ...If you're into hedonistic London clubs and looking for a night out in New York then Twilo's is probably your kind of place. It's a large busy club (expect to queue) which attracts some of the top British and American DJ's. It's not as dressy as some UK clubs but a few people were wearing outrageous clubgear. The atmosphere was well up for it but probably not as relaxed as clubs in the UK. It is one of the few places open all night (to 10 am...). ...the new york bike lock is undountably the best in the market. I have for years been quite a keen bike rider but regretfully a year ago i had my bike nicked while at the swimming pool. the reason it was stolen was because i was using a chain locka and not a u-bar lock like the excellent new york lock. for a test i even tried to saw through it witha hacksaw but it took such a long time to make even a scratch so i gave up. i would definately recommend this to any body who is serious about cycling and wants to keep there bike safe on all occasions.... ...New York City is a cultural myriad, a mish mash of everything. It has everything - every culture you can think of, every shop you can imagine, some of the best sights in the whole world. No wonder it's classed as the world's capital city. When you go to New York, you have to go up the Empire State Building. It has wonderful views - and it is hard to imagine that the building was built over half a century ago! To better the view from the Empire State Building however, try out the World Trade Center - the twin towers situated to the south of Manhattan - because from there you can even see the Empire State Building itself in its full glory. There is so much to do and see in New York, it is worth taking a trip to see for yourself.... Read review

As the American Civil War rages, 19th Century New York is a violent and fierce place as rival gangs clash in their fight for New York’s Lower East Side. On one side – the brutal Bill The Butcher who leads the Nativists. And on the other, the Irish-Americans led by Amsterdam Vallon. Filmed on location in Italy Gangs of New York wonderfully recreates 19th Century New York. The set is simply beautiful and massive attention is clearly paid to every detail. ...Bored of spending long University summer holidays stuck at home working as a waitress or barmaid I decided to head off to the Big Apple to find some adventure. And let me tell you, I had the best summer of my life. I found a job in Camp Na Sho Pa, a children's summer camp set in the New York State country side. I spent 9 weeks at camp and boy was it tough, but so rewarding and our days off were filled with adventure. The camp was situated about 2 hours north of New York City. From there we had easy access into Bloomingberg, a middle-sized town which had a great mall with cimema. A 2 hours bus ride took us into the centre of New York City. It was one of the best experiences of my life. New York City is so fantastic that I can't even describe it with words. It's definately an experience in itself. ...Gangs of New York, when i first started to watch this film i was struggling to get into it, but i am glad i stuck with it as its a great film, it is based in New York in 1846 where a battle is fought against the Irish and the native Americans over the five points area of New York City. The film is where Bill the Butcher played by Daniel Day Lewis kills Priest Vallon, whose son, Amsterdam Vallon Leonardo Dicaprio is taken to an orphanage. The plot then moves on 16 years to where Amsterdam returns to the five points to seek revenge against his fathers killer. Amsterdam then earns the gangster's respect, he must also contend with Jenny Everdean played by Cameron Diaz. The film is Directed by the great Martin Scorsese and this lives up to his other films. Leonardo and Cameron play their parts really well, but i think Daniel Day Lewis... Read review

...New York Minute - starring Mary-kate Olsen as Roxy Ryan and Ashley Olsen as Jane Ryan. In this movie the twins have opposite characters to eachother .Roxy is not academic at all and is only intrested in her rock band. On the other hand Jane is a obsessive student! The film plot is in one day.Roxy wants to skip school to take part in a prodcution of a simple plan music video which happens to be taking place in New york! But , unfortunate for her she is followed by a truancy officer , Max Lomax played by (Eugeune Levy - Jim's dad in American pie) The twins get a spot of bad luck , and are involved in a priracy ring .In order to reach the university for a speech they must avoid a dangerous gang and Lomax.
