Ski?

Advantages: Great skiing trails!
Disadvantages: Not for the olds!

...Valle de las Leñas means valley of the wood. But don't worry it doesn't mean that there are no good trails! It?s an important Argentinean ski resort that owns 60 km of trails that are for ski and it's about 2250 and 3430 mt over the sea level. Besides, it has a good portion of surface to practice ski away from the trails. from Europe it's easy to get there from a scheduled flight to Buenos Aires and from the same airport, Ezeiza, to Malargue (Las Leñas) or San Rafael(province of Mendoza), but this are not very often so the best thing is to change airport and go to the Jorge Newbery airport instead. It would take 45 minutes in a coach or bus, so I think that Buenos Aires worth a day there and then from Newbery airport to Malargue airport on a charter flight (no worries! they belong to the main airline!) it would take an hour...

Young or old, Terabithia will touch your heart

Advantages: A captivating read for all age groups; a true classic.
Disadvantages: I fear the release of the 2007 movie may ruin the reading experience.

If the above synopsis hasn't yet spurred you on your mission to delve into the secret sanctuary of Terabithia, I must add that the novel won the Newbery Medal in 1978 and for very, very good reason. It mixes elements of fantasy and humour that many children instantly fall in love with, while underpinning these with a profound take on life and love that is surely unparalleled in most other children's books. The narrator does not recount all this in a way that is condescending to children and respects their imagination by leaving immense space for a reader's own perceptions of what Terabithia and all its fantastical inhabitants must look like. If you have ever seen the 2007 movie, I stress that this is not an accurate representation of the original story. The movie dumbs down many of the story...

Review of Bridge to Terabithia - Katherine Paterson

Ideal for the average club cricketer

Advantages: Two double width straps
Disadvantages: No instep protection

...did not balloon away, which could prove useful if you have close fielder in for the bat/pad catch. The pads are a standard 7 cane arrangement and the hex tech side wing allows you additional protection on the leading side of your leg, although for a club bag the Super Test Range might be a good buy, as it has wings on both sides, making it an ambidextrous pad in theory, although when worn left handed, the straps may rub against each other. The only thing that they lack is extra instep protection, but this is not available on any pads of this pricerange. Overall this is a good sturdy pad for the average club player, which should get a lot of wear and willsee you good for a few seasons, although I am looking forward to the shipment of my Newbery pads....

Advantages: Wonderful, deceptively simple writing style, bags of humour.
Disadvantages: For adults? Maybe the neat ending. For children? Absolutely none!

AZTEC GOLD.

Advantages: A classic Black & White Historical story. Great range of special features.
Disadvantages: Commentary is a bit poor...but that's not a big criticism.

...that some of the original cast are still with us ~ this was put together from recent interviews. **DESIGNING THE AZTECS** This really exactly what it sounds like ~ a documentary with the set designer, Barry Newbery. I actually found this extremely interesting because he talks about how difficult it was to produce a realistic picture of Aztec life. We learn about the restrictions in terms of budget, technology and time that were placed on him. To say when it was made it is a great achievement ~ set painting and costumes are well worthy of a costume drama with a much larger expense account! This lasts for 25 minutes, so is also a lengthy piece ~ I would recommend that you watch these documentaries at a separate sitting to the actual main feature because otherwise you could start to get a bit of information overload! **THE STORY...
