Newbury, A Bit More Than a Race-course

It is a super place to go not only for the racing but much more, as my review will reveal. A Little Bit of It's History The Newbury Racecourse Company was formed in 1904 and the construction of the racecourse buildings and stables cost £57,240 which equates to £3,275,000 at 2004 prices. The first meeting was held on 26th September 1905 and the first race was the Whatcombe Handicap worth £160, a lot different to the prize money of today, which is in the thousands. ...Newbury isn't quite a city admittedly, but it does deserve a write up. It not only boasts a wonderful race course, but a high street and shopping centre filled with national and local shops. near the high street is a river, where you can sit and have your lunch, while feeding the ducks (if you like). A selection of cafes locally (and information board) offer you everything you need for a nice summers afternoon. The shopping centre (under cover one), has a few shops, and is not one of the best, BUT is better than nopthing. The shopping street has a wide selection of stores, such as Tesco's, Wh Smith's etc. A visit is highly recommended!...

...I was recently preparing a presentation at work for a client and their request was that we transferred it to a flash drive (or memory pen as my boss calls them!) Following a quick call to our IT department a Kingston DataTraveler USB flash drive soon arrived on my desk. For those who have never seen one, flash drives are a modern alternative to the ancient technology of floppy disks. You can easily transfers file to and from it and it is reusable unlike storing stuff on CD. The Kingston DataTraveler that I have is white in colour with a green tag on it which gives the name and the memory size. It's approximately 6.5cm in length and less than a centimetre in width so the downside is that it can be easily lost, although it does come with a hole at one end where you would be able to hook it to a key ring or neck tag. It is a useful, functional piece of equipment which allows you to link your Sony camcorder to any kind of PC. The main thing I would say is, that if you find yourself in need of this cable then the best thing to do is to shop around. There are bargains to be had and quite big differences in the prices charged for it. Amazon is quite a good place to look, as not only do you get an Amazon price but there are other offers to be found there for new cables too. When I was looking the best deal available was £7.99 (plus shipping). Or of course you could order from Amazon when you are buying other items and then be eligible for free shipping if you spend £15.
