Newquay Experience
Advantages: Nice Place to Visit and to Stay
Disadvantages: just a long car journey t
...NEWQUAY EXPERIENCE-
Newquay is ideal place for a short break or family holiday there is so many things to see and do in and around and suits all tastes.
If it is a Beach holiday you want then Newquay is great because it is situated on the north coast of Cornwall and it is blest with many lovely bseaches which you can surf and laze about on . Also if you are keen on walking there are coastal walks to venture on and while you are walking you will be able to take in the scenary and the breathe taking views around the coast line which I find amazing.
There is a variety of places to safe from Hotels ,B&B, Guest Houses, Self Catering and Surf Lodges to choose from and this is depending on the type of holiday you would like to expericience.
When I was there I managed to rent out an apartment which was in walking distance to...

Dynnargh dhe Newquay...
Advantages: A lovely part of the country with so much to see and do.
Disadvantages: prepare for lots of traffic!
...highly popular with surfers.
***ACCOMODATION***
We stayed in the Sandy Lodge Hotel for a weekend over Easter. Like most people in Newquay the laid back attitude and cheerful personality of staff was a great part of the holiday. The way the Cornish do it dreckly was just what we needed. Don?t expect your hotel to be fast action and all go like you would in London.
We chose the Sandy Lodge Hotel as everywhere else was booked, which is probably the only tip I can give about Newquay. If you plan to take off during Christmas, Easter, bank holidays or the summer holidays then book up a few months in advance. Luckily we loved our hotel and I would certainly recommend it. The rooms were spacious although our room was under the stair case and it was rather squeaky at night. The rooms were en-suite with a colour TV and tea/coffee tray.

At Home at the Atlantic
Advantages: Great hotel, great place
Disadvantages: -
...it comes to accommodation and I won't just stay anywhere. Mr & Mrs Bedbug B&B, for me is out of the question, call me a snob but I would rather sleep in the car..lol.
Upon arriving in the centre of Newquay you can see a huge hotel on the cliffs, which to me looked like a perfect hotel to stay in, driving up the bank to the hotel, we noticed that there was a wedding party there, so I wasn't counting my chickens however we parked up in the carpark, went inside and luckily they had a double room available at a cost of £45 per night per person including breakfast. Thats it we will take it.
The hotel that we stayed in was the Atlantic Hotel. The hotel was purposely built in 1892 and is the largest hotel currently in Newquay. The hotel itself has recently been refurbished to include 12 luxurious suites, each with their own balcony, has...

Summer camp, Penhale, Newquay hmmm
Advantages: New Friends, Lush views, New Things
Disadvantages: Tiring, 6'Oclock starts and the Weather On Occasions
...Summer holidays, the sun is shining, school is out and what do I choose to do?..army cadet camp in Cornwall - not exactly the best place to go and chill out and just relax - but it will do. Twelve whole days away from my mum, and my younger siblings - yay! Now before any of you lovely people say anything, this review is about Penhale camp, which is near Newquay - but because there is no Penhale section, I will put it in the Newquay section.
From Wiltshire, it took us three hours to get to Exeter which was our lunch break. We stopped at Exeter service station - which can I add, is a lovely place to stop, with up to date toilet facilities, a restaurant, a burger king and a shop. There is also an outside play park for the children, and arcade games dotted about the place. From the service station, it took us another hour and a half to...

Surfers Hostel
Advantages: cheap as!
Disadvantages: overpriced drinks
...The Surfers Hotel in Newquay, has an amazing location, very cheap rates, and a twenty-four-hour bar. What more could anyone staying in Newquay want from a hotel??
The hotel is situated at 1, Narrowcliff , which is literally across the road from Tolcarne Beach. Once you've stumbled down 130-odd steep steps anyway.. (going back up again is a caner!). Tolcarne itself is a beautiful beach, surrounded on the land-side with cliffs, but going out a long way at low-tide, and gets some surf second only to Fistral. It has lifeguard cover, as well as a couple of shops and cafés.
The hotel site is just on the edge of the town centre, literally a hundred yards from Barracuda nightclub, Berties Uptown bar, and importantly, a cash point! It's about a five to ten minute walk to the centre of town, a fifteen to twenty minute walk to the opposite...

Newquay
Advantages: In the summer it's surf city
Disadvantages: Hen and Stag hell.
...I went to Newquay for the surf festival in 2003 with five of my mates.
We stayed in Smugglers Haven campsite and 18 - 30s campsite just outside Newquay town. It took us 9 hours to actually get down there from the midlands, normally it would take about 3 or four but we had to detour a lot of traffic heading down there. Newquay is packed in the summer.
On arriving at our muddy caravan park we were greeted by a few quite friendly shouts from various groups staying in their caravans near us.
Every half an hour there is a double Decker bus that goes from the campsite and other campsites around Newquay into the town, this bus runs all day and late into the night. This is the golden snitch if your in a packed taxi queue at midnight and you see this bus run for it, it is only £1.50 for a single whereas taxies in Newquay can vary £10...

A cornish gem of an attraction just outside Newquay
Advantages: Japanese Zen, Bonsai,
Disadvantages: Would've been better when dry!
...We visited this year in July 2009 when on holiday in Newquay. I've only ever seen bits of Japanese gardens in the UK in parts of garden displays and never a full pure Japanese garden. It's a beautiful peaceful tranquil space where you could spend hours walking round, sitting, admiring the beautiful scenery and plants. I took over 100 photos while I was in the garden; they are on my website if anyone is interested.
The Japanese Garden and Bonsai Nursery is signposted from the A3059, the main road into Newquay from the A30. It's just outside the village of St Magwan, and has a car park for at least 20 cars. You enter into the shop, which itself is amazing, lots of wooden carved dragons, and stones, books on Japanese culture, as well as Bonsai! It's open everyday 10am till 6pm and is £3.50 for adults and £1.50 for children to enter...

The Strand Palace Hotel
Advantages: Central location, clean
Disadvantages: Food, rooms
...We stayed at this hotel in London a little over a month ago now for two nights, we chose this hotel mainly because of the central location and because it was only a ten minuite walk from the show we had booked to go too.
Check in was very quick - About ten minuites and the staff at the reception seemed very friendly.
My first thoughts on the hotel was that it looked really clean and that it was nicely decorated and it looked modern.
I was a little dissapointed with our room as it was very small and basic, our room had a double bed, tea and coffee making facilities, a tv with satellite and a small, basic en suite bathroom with a shower.
The views from our room very very poor - A block of offices which made our room dark as they were so close.
The hotel has two bars and two resturaunts, the bars were again nicely decorated...

Ramblings Of A Newquay Native
Advantages: Good fun in the summer!
Disadvantages: Distinct lack of shopping!!!
...I’ve lived in Newquay all my life (Well, except when I defected to London for three years to do a degree!!) so I thought some of you might find it interesting to read a Local’s Guide to Surf City UK!! This may turn into an epic as I’m going to try and include everything and everywhere I go regularly as well as places I avoid like the plague!! (Don’t worry; I’ve sub-sectioned everything so you’re more than welcome to skip!!) So, as usual, grab a coffee, we could be some time!! (Actually, as it’s lovely weather, grab a Diet Coke!!) Be warned!! (And be afraid, be very afraid!!!)
It’s bizarre really, living here. As it’s a tourist driven economy, locals don’t tend to see much of the summer!! In fact, the joke goes that you can always tell the Newquay residents in...

Newquay Arms - Welcoming Arms?
Advantages: Right in town centre, good range of cheap meal deals, good beer garden
Disadvantages: Bit tired looking and very dark inside. Not very welcoming to look at
...Newquay Arms, Newquay, Cornwall, TR7 1JF. Near Woolies and opposite HSBC Bank.
On passing the Newquay Arms the menu and meal deals look good/tempting. Two for one deals for £5-6, with pictures, are displayed in the window looking appealing, but when you see other food offerings in the same part of town you could probably have a better/cheaper choice elsewhere. I suspect these are frozen/nuked on demand. Although I haven't actually eaten there.
I'd advise you choose the beer garden to eat in as the interior of this pub is very old, dated, dark and quite grim and unwelcoming.
Whereas other bars in Newquay have spent a lot of money/effort in revamping/redecorating/updating, the Newquay Arms hasn't.
It's a great pub for including on a pub crawl, but don't plan it for your final destination.
The interior is quite sparsely...
