Shock Horror (not a horror film actually)
Advantages: Vincent Price acting, story
Disadvantages: Most of the other actors
...that did bother me was the really over dramatic music that was really loud now and again. This was too much I thought.
Overall a good film with a few flaws. Vincent Price is amazing and is the salvation of this film and I could imagine it being really terrible without him it. For those who don't know Vincent Price starred in a lot of horror films in the 50s and 60s in such films as House of Wax , House on Haunted Hill etc. and his last role was as the inventor who created Edward Scissorhands in Edward Scissorhands . I actually have an uncle who is also called Vincent Price and he always tells the story of how during The Troubles in Northern Ireland him and a man he worked with called Richard Burton were driving through an army checkpoint outside Newry and were asked for their names and weren't believed by the soldiers. Anyway...

The one and only .... Smileybabe....
Advantages: You get to know a bit more trivia about me!
Disadvantages: Some of it is a monologue!!
...? That pretty little one on your ankle will look so sweet over a pair of orthopedic shoes and support tights!!
06. *How much do you love your job on a scale of 0-5?*
I thoroughly enjoy my job so I have to give it a 5. I work on a one to one with a Down Syndrome child. I start at 9am and work until 1.30pm. I plan and evaluate each day and we are all hoping he will go to mainstrean school in September.
07. *Favourite colour?*
My favourite colours are purple and blue. I would wear a lot of purple clothes, varying shades, and I've used blue quite a lot in the decor of my home.
08. *Home County?*
I live in Newry, which is in County Down. We have recently been awarded city status which is good as it'll hopefully increase the value of my house not to mention will bring more business into the area.
09. *Current Relationship Status...

Good Craic in Banbridge !!
Advantages: Large Car park, Very high quaility food, Central to town centre
Disadvantages: Can get a bit smokey at times in some bars
...The Downshire Arms Hotel, is a traditional family run business located at 95, Newry Street, Banbridge. It was built in the early 1800's and is an original coaching house, on what was at that time the main Belfast-Dublin coach route. The premises have been well renovated and are both clean and very attractive inside, maintaining the rustic look such a type of business situated in a historic building should. At the heart of the main bar and the etrance are old fashion open fire places. This is a delight to sit near on those cold winter days, enjoying a pint, or glass of fine wine.
I have been visiting this establishment for many years. I have sampled it in relation to food and socialising, but have not stayed over to date. Hopefully someone can write something on the rooms soon.

N I R, back on track!
Advantages: Trains, ticket prices, friendly staff, efficient service - need I go on
Disadvantages: Could have more lines and a catering trolley on board trains
...-opening of the mothballed Antrim to Lisburn line with a new station at the ever busy Aldergrove airport as well as hourly and high speed services to Dublin and Londonderry. New stations are coming up for Newry and Derry (and possibly Great Victoria Street??) as well as more park and ride halts.
It would be ideal if the railway lines in Northern Ireland were to expand again into once used territory - i.e. Armagh, Comber and Co. Tyrone, however, it is only a matter of time before this happens. Now we have local government, our local politicians are recognising the need for major transport development in the future. However, N I Railways must ensure that for the short term anyhow (the next 7 to 10 years), that they keep all existing lines and assets, and develop them to their full capacity so that they continue to have a good case for more funding...

Argos spring/summer 2004
Advantages: Have loads of choice all under one roof.
Disadvantages: Do not always have the stock instore.
...and go instore to pay and collect. So if there is a huge queue, at least you haven't wasted time pondering over which product is best - If you haven't checked out ciao of course!! - and can just be waiting at the collection point.
This review is long and is basically a run down of what you can expect from their catalogue and services offered at the store. They do have a huge range and to be able to change your mind when you decide you don't want something is great. Not many shops will let you do that!! You get a monetary refund not a credit note as is often issued in shops. (These can have an expiry date!)
The store in my home town (Newry) has recently been refurbished so I can't comment for all stores on their cleanliness. The layout is a bit awkward now and there are long queues at the checkouts hence the ring and reserve number...

Big Brother Is Watching You
Advantages: See review
Disadvantages: See review
...?.
~ ~ Well, I?ve simply had as much as I?m prepared to take from this bunch of hypocritical toerags who have the gall to call themselves a Government.
I have every intention of installing a new ?stealthy? speed camera detector in my taxi. It has to be ?stealthy?, by the way, because it?s also illegal to have one of these devices operating in your car. It?s not illegal to OWN such a device, but it IS illegal to use one. (How daft is that, I ask you?)
An electronic company in Newry are now selling and installing a speed camera detector for £500 (Sterling) which is practically invisible to the police. The in-car display and warning buzzer is hidden inside the ashtray in the car, and the radar detection unit is concealed under the bonnet at the grille. It detects all current speed detection equipment, and warns you half a mile before you reach...

Striding in the Steps of Giants
Advantages: Dramatic views clothed in the mysteries of both legend and science
Disadvantages: Access for the handicapped is necessarily restricted
...for specimens of the rare flora native to the area, including the red broomrape and the oyster plant.
At the end of the climb awaited the revitalizing refreshments of Centre's Tea Room--and other amenities. The National Trust also maintains a gift shop and stocks a number of books on the history and geology of the Causeway.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Getting There
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Himself and Yours Truly drove to the Giant's Causeway from Ardee, which is located just south of the border between Ulster and the Republic. Our plan was to head east to the Cooley Peninsula, then travel as much as we could by the coast roads until we reached the Causeway. The only problem with that plan was that there was simply too much to see for a day trip. Having rounded the peninsula, we caught the A28 at Newry, then the A29 at Armaugh, and headed north...

"A Great Country, just Pretending to be Small!"
Advantages: Friendly, Welcoming People
Disadvantages: Bleak Past
.... The infamous Mountains of Mourne are in County Down, and they form a postcard perfect backdrop where ever you look at them from. Strangford Lough is a bird sanctuary and of course the main hobby for people in Down is fishing! Their waters are healthy with fish, and many people living on the coast make their livelihood from the sea.
Picturesque villages such as Kilkeel and Warrenpoint dot the Down coast, but it is Newry, the County Town where you will find a warm welcome, and a surprisingly good shopping area. The father of the Bronte sisters came from the North of Newry, near another pretty town called Banbridge. And if you are religious, Saint Patrick is buried in a town called Downpatrick, also worth a visit.
COUNTY ARMAGH
++++++++++++++++
To anyone from Northern Ireland, nearly the first thing you think of when someone talks of Armagh...

A bumpy ride
Advantages: Fares are reasonable with frequent promotions, staff are generally helpful, all trains have disabled access (despite their age).
Disadvantages: Frequent delays, old and dirty trains, some stations lack basic facilities.
...stations, track and signalling. It was formed in 1995 after a government review aimed at promoting the use of public transport. In general it adopts an approach of integrating buses and trains so that most parts of Northern Ireland are accessible by one or both. I'll not bore you with all the nitty gritty details but the most important thing to note is that it's still a publicly owned and publicly funded organisation. This is important, as you will find out later when I get to the reasons for NIR providing the poor service that it does.
The rail network here consists of four main lines connecting the cities of Belfast, Dublin and Londonderry, and the major towns of Coleraine, Portadown, Newry, Larne and Bangor. There are various main stations dotted across the network, generally in larger towns and these are usually manned by staff...
