...We had immense trouble deciding on a hotel for my husband's birthday break in Amsterdam. We're trying to find a reasonably priced hotel that wasn't too shabby and in a decent location. After reviewing all the options, we went for the NH City Centre, if only because of it's 1920's styling and proximity to town. We were not disappointed. The hotel is lovely with each room finished beautifully, if you like the modern thing (and we do!). The overall atmosphere is very calm and serene. It took us forever to find the hotel, but that may have been because I insisted, as I had been to Amsterdam a couple of times before, that finding our way around would be easy, we could walk there and we didn't need a map. A LOT OF LUXURY FOR NOT TOO MANY EUROS

Advantages: Value for money. Sparkling clean. Superb food.
Disadvantages: Noisy trams if you get the wrong room.

Indeed you could say that the room here fell into the "panic purchase" category. We needed a room for the night in Dresden and the Astron (as the NH was then called) had one available. In actual fact more importantly than us, my then fiancée and I, needing a bed for the night, it was essential that we found secure parking for the car. ...The NH Alanda hotel in Marbella is without doubt one of the best hotels I have stayed in and Marbella itself is a beautiful city. A holiday in Marbella is always going to be a great holiday but you really can add to your time there by using this hotel. Marbella is situated along the Costa del Sol and is Spains answer to st Tropez, this holiday resort is chic and is well known to be favoured by the rich and famous. It's not hard to see why when you visit you will be instantly taken aback by the beauty of your surroundings, which brings me to this fantastic hotel. The NH Alanda hotel with its beautiful pool, four star rating (five in some brochures now I believe) and its 199 rooms looks more like a palace than a hotel. ...Although this hotel is set in acres of countryside, it's surprisingly easy to find the NH Hotel Koningshof Veldhoven. As the name implies, it's situated in the town of Veldhoven, next to the Eindhoven ring road, but it doesn't have direct access. That's not a problem though. As soon as you leave the A2 motorway at the Veldhoven exit, you follow the sign for Koningshof. Follow an arrow-straight road for a mile or so and you can't miss it. It's around 15 km from Eindhoven city centre, and a similar distance from the airport. This 4-star hotel (built in 1977 and renovated in 1999) is a sprawling complex of several two and three-storey buildings set in 79 acres of forested landscape. Its main purpose seems to be as a conference centre (in fact, it has 100 meeting rooms), but with 538 bedrooms they were somehow able to squeeze a couple...

...The NH Dusseldorf City is a functional business hotel which is quite close to the Dusseldorf main station. It can easily reached from there by foot or a very short taxi ride. There is also an underground station right in front of the building. The circular, multi storied atrium looks impressive, but doesn't have any cosiness to it. The dusky pink of the walls of the galleries and a huge, pale green glass installation are the main features. Our check-in was not as quick as it could have been if the hotel would have pre-filled the registration form with the data they had. The reception lady was reluctant to permit a late check-out and negotiated our proposed 4pm down to 3pm requesting us to ask the Reception Manager the next day for a permission to stay longer. ...We decided to go to Amsterdam over the Xmas holidays this year and got a really good deal on lastminute.com for our hotel. We booked into the NH Caranza hotel for 5 nights, a standard double room for £271 (for both of us!) We couldn?t believe our luck. But we had never been there before so we were not sure what the hotel would be like. The Caranza is part of a group of the ?NH? hotels in Amsterdam, there are about five in total and they range from 3* to 5*. Advantages: 15min to airport, close to Barcelona's Business Centre & Football Stadium!
Disadvantages: Outdoor pool is closed during the winter season.

...I had to stay in this hotel on my second visit to Barcelona as NH Calderon was fully booked. This hotel is located only 15min away from Barcelona's airport with an easy access to the various principal connections which is quite convenient. Metro Station Les Corts on Line 3 which is in Green Colour is only 5min walk from NH Rallye and hughe shopping centre El Court Engles is just one metro stop away at Maria Christina Metro Station located in Barcelona's business centre! Metro costs Euro 1.00 for a single destination so I guess its cheap in comparison with London's Tube Fares. It is also not far from Plaza Catalunya and La Rambla. It took us about 14min from Les Courts metro station to Catalunya and Liceu! Excellent Location & Outstanding Customer Service

Advantages: Minutes walk to La Rambla and Plaza Catalunya
Disadvantages: Bed Mattress that gave me back pain in the morning (however, it did not happen to my mom and aunty)

...NH Calderon is situated in the heart of Barcelona, minutes walk from lively street La Rambla that leads towards the sea side, EasyJet Internet Cafe and Plaza Catalunya where you can get onto the City Tour Busses or go out to eat or shopping! I would say this hotel is located very well! Its very close to Metro as well. The customer service is of an outstanding quality! The receptionists are well manerred, very friendly and jolly and helpful as well. Usually, all of them speak in about 4-6 languages besides spanish!
