...The NH Dusseldorf City is a functional business hotel which is quite close to the Dusseldorf main station. It can easily reached from there by foot or a very short taxi ride. There is also an underground station right in front of the building. The circular, multi storied atrium looks impressive, but doesn't have any cosiness to it. The dusky pink of the walls of the galleries and a huge, pale green glass installation are the main features. Our check-in was not as quick as it could have been if the hotel would have pre-filled the registration form with the data they had. The reception lady was reluctant to permit a late check-out and negotiated our proposed 4pm down to 3pm requesting us to ask the Reception Manager the next day for a permission to stay longer. more of a palace than a hotel. Marbela`s finest!!

Advantages: beautiful and very clean.
Disadvantages: i found none during a 2 week break.

...The NH Alanda hotel in Marbella is without doubt one of the best hotels I have stayed in and Marbella itself is a beautiful city. A holiday in Marbella is always going to be a great holiday but you really can add to your time there by using this hotel. Marbella is situated along the Costa del Sol and is Spains answer to st Tropez, this holiday resort is chic and is well known to be favoured by the rich and famous. It's not hard to see why when you visit you will be instantly taken aback by the beauty of your surroundings, which brings me to this fantastic hotel. The NH Alanda hotel with its beautiful pool, four star rating (five in some brochures now I believe) and its 199 rooms looks more like a palace than a hotel. ...We decided to go to Amsterdam over the Xmas holidays this year and got a really good deal on lastminute.com for our hotel. We booked into the NH Caranza hotel for 5 nights, a standard double room for £271 (for both of us!) We couldn?t believe our luck. But we had never been there before so we were not sure what the hotel would be like. The Caranza is part of a group of the ?NH? hotels in Amsterdam, there are about five in total and they range from 3* to 5*. Ours was a 4* so we were excited to be in a bit of luxury ? usually we they and save our money and stay in B&Bs etc. The hotel is situated in Rembrandtplein, a lively square full of cafes and coffee shops. The Strand Palace Hotel

...We stayed at this hotel in London a little over a month ago now for two nights, we chose this hotel mainly because of the central location and because it was only a ten minuite walk from the show we had booked to go too. Check in was very quick - About ten minuites and the staff at the reception seemed very friendly. My first thoughts on the hotel was that it looked really clean and that it was nicely decorated and it looked modern. I was a little dissapointed with our room as it was very small and basic, our room had a double bed, tea and coffee making facilities, a tv with satellite and a small, basic en suite bathroom with a shower. The views from our room very very poor - A block of offices which made our room dark as they were so close. The hotel has two bars and two resturaunts, the bars were again nicely decorated...

...I recently went on a cultural girlie trip with a friend to Paris. I was left to do all the booking. I was looking for a reasonable hotel, near a metro stop, which included breakfast. I came across the Hotel International on various travel sites and it seemed fairly highly rated so I booked us in for three nights. LOCATION: The hotel is located 6 Rue Auguste Barbier in the 11th Arrondissement. The nearest Metro stop is Garcourt which was a two minute walk away and it was a five minute walk to Republique which gives good links to other lines. It's not really central enough to avoid the Metro and walk to the attractions but it was located so close to a stop that it seemed ideal. PRICE: Prices vary depending on size of room and season. There are singles, doubles and triples available. We paid Euro254 for the whole time...

...We had immense trouble deciding on a hotel for my husband's birthday break in Amsterdam. We're trying to find a reasonably priced hotel that wasn't too shabby and in a decent location. After reviewing all the options, we went for the NH City Centre, if only because of it's 1920's styling and proximity to town. We were not disappointed. The hotel is lovely with each room finished beautifully, if you like the modern thing (and we do!). The overall atmosphere is very calm and serene. It took us forever to find the hotel, but that may have been because I insisted, as I had been to Amsterdam a couple of times before, that finding our way around would be easy, we could walk there and we didn't need a map. Long gone glory

Advantages: Great location at Damrak square, inexpensive for a "5-star" hotel
Disadvantages: Old-fashioned interieur & run-down furniture, no goodwill when complaining about bad room condition

...I have stayed several times in the Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky in Amsterdam and I always thought it's a nice affordable 5-star hotel. The location is unbeatable, it lies just opposite the royal palace on Damrak Square. It's only one or two stops from the central station, if you are travelling light, you can even walk which will take you about 10 minutes. The downside of the location is that Damrak Square is full of drug dealers - they sell not the ones that are legal in the Netherlands, but the serious stuff. The hotel itself consists of a whole block of buildings which historically were merged into the the hotels body. So you will find a lot of different room types. The most expensive ones are high ceiling rooms facing Damrak Square. The interieur of the rooms is at least 20 years old, if not older. Few people know that...

...When we decided to make a return trip to Benalmedina we opted to go to the four star Hotel Las Arenas as it was recommended by friends. It is slightly further out just opposite the Castle Bill Bill and when you cross the road it?s a flat walk all the way to the marina which is away from the large hills on which many of the other hotels are located. Reception On arrival check in was swift and at this time we opted to pay for a safety deposit box we were then handed the safe key and card key to room 524 and pointed in the direction of the lifts. On looking round reception it was laid out with tables and chairs and also had a grand piano, a small bar ,toilets and computers with internet access. There is a large board telling you about entertainment available during the day and at night. The whole area was laid out for wheelchair access...
