...So you've got all your holiday appliances, Battery powered digital camera, Digital Video Camera or Standard Video Camera, MP3 or CD player, and other battery powered appliances, trouble is.....it costs a small fortune to keep these things powered, and standard Nickel Cadmium ( NiCads) Batteries just don't last very long or hold enough power to work the camera, and on top of this these batteries have a memory which needs to be completely discharged otherwise afer a short period of a few recharging cycles thy wont hold a charge... ...There is not much to say about this, simply brilliant! Is very straight forward to use, only one switch to chose the type of battery to charge, insert the batteries, up to 4 depending of type, plug it in and wait until its charged. It comes with a charge indicator and will stop charging when the batteries are ready; a green light will come up. It can recharge batteries type AAA, AA and GF22, respectively up to 4, 4 and 2. I have purchased on a promotional campaign so the price is irrelevant, although you can find it at the big stores in promotion time to time. The best friend of a digital camera owner

...I had always thought that a rechargeable battery was a rechargeable battery, but I was proven wrong recently. I really discovered that there were two types of rechargeable battery having purchased a brand new Minolta Dimage 5 digital camera (op to follow soon!). I had just spent near EUR 1100 and was therefore somewhat taken aback that there were no rechargeable batteries supplied with it, just a set of alkaline batteries. Fortunately when I bought it, the shop assistant did say that I would have to get rechargeable batteries separately and that I would have to get NiMH (Nickel Metal Hydride) rather than NiCd (Nickel Cadmium), as they have a higher capacity. So what is the advantage of NiMH over NiCd? A NiMH battery has a 30% higher capacity than a standard NiCd battery, which means of course that it lasts longer between charges...

Advantages: Cheap, reliable, long lasting, reasonable price.
Disadvantages: Still gets warm. Plastic plug = breakable?

...believe that most of my batteries have charged in about 60 minutes, on a full charge from an empty battery. As well as getting the charger, which plugs straight into the wall it includes 4 x 2500mAh Ni-Mh AA's (which are in sliver, and look quite attractive, you won't get these thrown out as they definately stand out from panasonic and duracell) You can charge AAA batteries however the sale only comes with 4 AA batteries. It has a sensor control, a red and green light, to tell you when it is still charging and when the charge is fully complete. Another helpful feature is that it includes a car adapter for no extra cost. Uniross AA rechargable batteries

Advantages: Easy to charge, long-life

...to make it work again - these seemed to remedy this. To re-charge the batteries, I use a Uniross Ni-Cd & Ni MH battery charger that I purchased by recommendation at the same time as the batteries. It takes about 4-5 hours for batteries to fully charge, which isn't bad considering they then last for weeks. The batteries can be charged up to 1,000 times. After the success of the AA batteries, we now use primarily all Uniross batteries to control our battery-fuelled appliances, including Uniross AAA batteries for our television, VCR and DVD remote controls, which last about 6 months. Play and charge, good when it works

...I have now bought two of these one of the Xbox versions and a cheaper version. The idea behind this is that the Xbox controller comes with a pack that fits two double A batteries but these are a bit of a waste of time because they run out of power so quickly. When you buy this play and charge kit it has a power lead and a rechargeable battery. The idea is that you connect the power lead to the Xbox by a USB connection and the other end is attached to the controller. It charges the battery as you play The Xbox version is definitely a better quality than the other brands but I have had problems with the one I bought.
