...I have been colouring my hair for years. My natural colour is mousy brown and it is very boring. My hair has been all different colours including blonde and I have used many different brands of hair colour. The colour I always end up going back to is red and my favourite brand is Clairol Nice ‘n’ Easy. These days I tend to go for the subtle shades and I am at the age where the grey hairs are starting to appear so I like to keep these well covered. I don’t usually pay the full price of £5.69 as I wait until it is on special offer in Boots and I bought it last week for £3.79. Boots usually have a good choice of colours in Blonde, Red, Brunette and Black. Each box on display shows a model on the front with hair colour for that shade. A nice result but is it really that easy?

Advantages: excellent colour
Disadvantages: Quite hard to make sure youve applied it to all areas.

...I have recently gone from blonde back to my natural colour and my hairdresser told me that despite putting a permanent brown on top of the blonde, it will fade and I would need to go back and keep having semi permanent dye on it to build up the pigment. It really is Nice'n easy.

Advantages: Good even multi-tonal hair colour.
Disadvantages: Just the clearing up after.

...I have used Clairol Nice'n easy permanent hair colour for at least 20 years and have been highly satisfied each and every time with the outcome. Having a daughter hairdresser, I can always get a good cut and the only job left for me to do is to hide the ever increasing grey. A spare 30 minutes can usually be found every 5-6 weeks to apply the colour. The range of colours is vast starting at somewhere around No.96 which is the lightest blonde and going through the range to Blue/black. I use 101 which is Natural Baby Blonde and now that Clairol have incorporated blends into the colour to give a multi-tonal look, I feel that my own natural hair colour is in there somewhere.! Sounded like the product for meeee I was browsing round one of my local savers, and mildly considering a change of hair colour. I discovered I was faced with shelf after shelf of different brands and colours, not to mention types and possibilities of colouring. Should I want to simply wash a colour in and then six washes later be back to the original me, I could. This would have been a level 1. A level 2 colour would have lasted me for 24 shampoos. Nice n easy doesnt smell too nice...

Disadvantages: Makes hair feel dry and smells pretty horrid

...Well, i've been using nice n easy for a while now. It normally gets me the colour i want and yes, likem it says on the label, its nice and easy to use. However its not so nice to smell, and i often find that after having the stuff on my head for half an hour, my nostrils and throat literally start burning for the chemicals! Which surely, cant be good for my hair. I've gotten out of the habit of using it quite as much as i used to now, due to the fact im pretty sure it frazzles my hair every time i use it. Clairol nice 'n easy . Natural Dark Brown - 120

Advantages: Fantastic for covering over bleached hair, lasting colour, in-expensive price.
Disadvantages: Messy and stains fabric and carpet

..., COVER THE FLOOR IF IT'S CARPET! THIS IS A VERY MESSY DYE AND WILL DYE ANYTHING IT LANDS ON. Wipe down any surface if the dye gets onto it as it may colour the surface too. I recommend staying in the bathroom the whole time to avoid any extra mess. When you wash it off, be careful here also as there's a lot of dye that will be flying about hitting your grouting and shower curtains.. I sat down in the bath, tilted my head forward and used the shower head held close to my head in order to direct it straight down the plughole. In all, a good dying experience, will use it again, I'm a brunette convert thanks to Clairol's Nice 'n Easy!...
