It was a long night at the museum .

Advantages: Good cast , good effects , okay plot
Disadvantages: Boring at times , did not work for me

...This is a film only review , thanks . We borrowed the DVD of Night at the Museum from our friendly neighbours . We often swap DVD's between each other and have seen some crackers . As they have small children we sometimes find the films are really childrens films but still great and highly enjoyable . So when we took this film we were looking forward to it . I had read a little about the story and film wheras Hubby knew nothing about it . Looking at the outer cover with it's picture of Ben Stiller , who plays the lead role , it looked promising . It had an interesting holgram effect which him and some strange characters which seemed to appear and disappear . Advantages: Very funny film for the whole family

...This is a review for the 2 Disc special edition Night at the Museum. ~The Plot~ Larry Daley (Ben Stiller) is an unemployed no hoper who keeps getting evicted from his home and can?t keep a job down. It?s not until his ex-wife tell him that his 10 year old son Nick (Jack Cherry) can?t stay with him again until he gets settled and gets a proper job, that he realises he really does need a job. So he goes to the employment agency and insists he needs a job straight away. The only job they can offer him is a job at the Natural History Museum, so he goes along to see what?s what. Night At The Museum - Where history comes alive!

Advantages: Slapstick comedy, great visual effects, enjoyable film
Disadvantages: Basic plotline, mainly aimed at children

He floats in and out of jobs but after a reality-check from his ex-wife he realises that for the sake of his son he needs to get a permanent job. ...I enjoyed this film. I wasnt expecting to, thought it would be another daft comedy. Especially when I discovered it was directed by Shawn Levy who also directed Just Married. ...The sequel to Night at the Museum was one of those films that makes you think where can it go from where it finished last time. Well I think that the writers have done a very good job with the follow up which offers many more thrills and spills as it follows Larry Daley's love affair with the Natural History Museum and all that's inside. The film starts with us finding out that Larry's life has gone from night watch guard to that of a successful and wealthy businessman who has seemingly moved on from the museum to take a different path in life. The film's first ten minutes focus on Larry's new adventures and his new invention the glow in the dark torch. Disadvantages: may be a tiny bit scary in places for very young children.

Advantages: some funny bits, unusual plot

...I have watched a lot of films lately so had taken a little break as I had done a bit of a movie overdose. However, today I was ready to get back to viewing some more and the title that stood out on my shelf this time was 'Night At The Museum'. I remember seeing the trailer a while back and although it showed Ben Stiller who I am a fan of as he is usually funny, I wasn't sure exactly how from what shown on the trailer this could develop into a plot. I missed it in the cinema but doubt I'd have paid anyway so saw the DVD once and decided to buy it as curiosity had gotten the better of me. Like I said before with Ben Stiller starring I knew it had to be a comedy so at least I knew one thing, that it involved little concentration and would have no deep plot and I was glad of that. Disadvantages: Childish (but what else would you expect?)

...Larry Daley is a bit of a loser when it comes to finding a job. He has been through so many that his ex-partner is reluctant to let their son stay with him again until he has found some stability. As a last resort, Larry manages to get a job as a night security officer in the Museum of Natural History.
