Nike NDS Irons
Review of Nike Golf NDS Iron by
aj4luton
Advantages: Great feel and creativity
Disadvantages: American so include no SW
...As I began to progress as a golfer I decided that I needed to splash out on a good set of Irons. My pro had told me that a good set of irons can tkae up to 3 strokes of your score. I think that he is wrong and that it is more like 5-6! These clubs are that good.
Firstly the NDS stands for the Nike Distance Serires. So reading that you may think that you lose control if you use the set. That is definately not true as progressive offsetting technique throughout the set allows for perfect ball shaping.
The wide sole of the club allows for excellent connection with the club and compared to the modern club these are relatively heavily. I found this extremely helpful as it stopped me hitting semi-fatted shots and topping my shots.
THe NDS's are also cast from 431 stainless steel which is 25% softer than the average 17.1. This allows...

Nike Slingshot
Review of Nike Golf Slingshot Iron by
silkyuk9
Advantages: Great for all ages and handicaps
Disadvantages: don't get a sand iron
...'t use their 3 that much.
You can buy a set of Slingshot irons these days for around £200 now from many online golf stores, the steel shaft ones are the ones my son has and he certainly likes steel shafts better than the graphite shafts of the DX. Slingshot are a little heavier but very well weighted and have a generous sweet spot.
If you are a mid to high handicapper give them a try at your local pro shop, you won't be dissapointed. Lovely irons and very well made. My son's are nearly a year old now and still shiney and no marks or bits of rust showing. Nike certainly know how to make golf clubs....

The Number 1 Ball in Golf
Review of Titleist Pro V1x by
Leggylad
Advantages: Distance, Feel, durability
Disadvantages: Price
...- This means that the ball has the same feel when playing hard or gentle shots. This is very useful as you get used to how the ball will react. Consistency is key to a good short game.
Shear and abrasion resistant cover - This will not really aid your game. The cover is very strong and tough which simply means you won't need to change it as it gets scuffed and worn. The ball will last longer.
Competition - The main competitors to the Pro V1 are:
Nike ONE- This is Nike's versioin of the Pro V1, advertised and used by Tiger it is bound to get recognition, but on the tour you can see the Pro's preffer the Titeist.
Srixon - Many player have found the Srixon to be a very good ball, it is slightly cheaper than the Pro V1 and not too dissimilar in it's play. If the Titleist weren't available I'd probably use this.
Other competitors of merit...

A good old, durable football boot
Review of Nike Tiempo Pro S.G. by
jondav
Advantages: A comfortable, durable football boot
Disadvantages: A little clumsy
...The Nike Tiempo Pro SG is a lightweight boot designed for durability and comfort. It is indeed very comfortable when worn and has lasted me many Saturday afternoons! The Tiempo Pro SG is relatively cheap and can be found at between £15-£30 second hand.
The boot is made from "full grain leather with a Duraplush collar lining" which does give the boot a comfortable feel.
The SG is to be used on soft surfaces but it does have interchangeable studs and if your are playing on different surfaces then the corresponding studs can be purchased from most sports shops. The boot does have good control, although as I talk of later, it is a little clumsy looking.
The boot also has a forefoot lip which enhances durability and can be tucked over the laces. The boot's only negative that I have found, is that compared to the new generation...

Nike Air mercurial vapour football boots
Review of Nike Air Zoom Mercurial F.G. by
NEWMSV6
Advantages: Light, strong material variety of sizes
Disadvantages: expensive
...I am 22 years of age and have been playing semi-pro football for the past 4 years. Obviously my choice in football boot is essential however it is a fact that every individual out there have their own style and prefered boot.
When it comes to purchasing boots I have never been put off with the price of the product and with a price tag of £140 in the majority of shops I wanted to see what I was getting with my money.
The best attribute of this product is the weight of it. It weighs next to nothing so it's like running on air, the technology and design of it is amazing, hense why they are worn by many international stars.
I really think it's improved my game, I feel so comftable on the ball and actually feel like I can run faster. I normally change boots each season but not with these. The best thing about them is they come in a variety...

Expensive Spin
Review of Titleist Pro V1X (2005) Golf Balls by
CarlG
Advantages: The Best Ball Out There
Disadvantages: Price
...longer than some other balls.
To conclude my review the Pro V1 ball is, in my opinion, the best out there for the distance / spin / feel combination (although others such as the Maxfli Revolution, and Nike One come very close). However as mentioned they ate prone to scuffing and at anywhere between £30 and £35 per dozen they are now a bit too pricey for this new home owner !...

Maximum quality matchball
Review of Mitre Pro Max Ball by
spdavies
Advantages: Shape and pressure retention
Disadvantages: Price
...The mitre pro max football is a professional, high quality, high gloss matchball, developed with top professional clubs and engineered to mitre and international match ball standards. Maximum performance is achieved from balanced linings and an exclusive 'maxloc' bladder system, designed to maintain pressure for 3 times longer than a conventional bladder. The soft touch surface allows for maximum player control. The ball is manufactured as a 26 Panel design, maximised for shape retention and truer flight, available as a size 5 only in a standard white, mitre design.
Mitre provides a whole range of balls at with various levels of performance and according price. However, as a buyer of equipment for my club, I can highly recommend this ball above all of the other ones for a similar price. It provides a consistent level of performance...

Over rated! DROP AND STOP...hardly.
Review of Titleist Pro V1x by
Dannyisonfire
Advantages: Pro use, Feel, Spin rates
Disadvantages: Durability, cost.
...For any club player, even down to the levels of category 1, would not actually recommend this bal to any of those players. This ball was designed with the pro in mind. It was simply marketed because titleist saw the opportunity, through huge pro popularity, to get it onto our courses, thus making them a ton in the process.
The advantages of this ball, might be proved in the pro game but to be honest, and as this is from my own point and personal experiences myself and the people that I play with have seen little to no benefit to our games in comparison to other balls that we can get hold of, at a considerably cheaper price. The feel of the ball off the club face is, with the shorter irons unquestionably nice, however, the spin rates are not all thats promised, the feel with the longer clubs, especially from the tee, leaves alot...

Get up to be chopped down another day
Review of Nike Tri shield by
BALLISTIC
Advantages: comfort, price, protection, length of life
Disadvantages: colour fades quickly
...Being very serious about my football I have been known to make a few impulse purchases when out and about to try and protect myself from injury while playing the beautiful game, something I do semi-pro.
Most football injuries occur through lack of a warm up but there is nothing you can do to reduce the clumsiness of your opponents or the plain filthy play that can leave you in a heap on the floor feeling like a sniper has just blasted a hole in your leg when they 'miss' the ball and take most of your leg with their studded boots. Since the age of 7 I have used Nike shin pads in varying forms and have never paid anything more than £10, and indeed, my Nike Tri Shield pads were only £7.99 from JJB Sports some years ago. I have to admit, I haven't seen these in any sports shops for about 12 months but a quick glance at the net does confirm...

100 times better than Fifa
Review of Pro Evolution Soccer 4 (Xbox) by
Conks
Advantages: Great Gameplay with realistic features
Disadvantages: Hard to master when you start playing
...Although some of the names aren't real this game is totally better than fifa 2005. The new master league helps you make transfers and build your own team from scratch and you have up to 20 skills that rate players. Free kicks are hard to master but are well worth it.
PRICE
When it was first out you had to pay £30 for a copy but now you can get it for £19.50, what a bargain!!!
INFO
This game is avaliable on the PS2 XBOX and PC and is amazing on both. The graphics are wiked and so is the game play
From my experiences the best international team in the game is Brazil and the best club team is AC Milan.
One of the best features of this game is that you can create your own football teams including heights of players, facial features, hair features, gloves/sweat bands, sleeve length and best of all football boots. You can select nike...
