brilliant Nikon D60

Advantages: fantastic quality images
Disadvantages: bigger than a compact digital camera

...I had been wanting to upgrade from my compact digital camera for a while as I was constantly disappointed with the quality of the images, (a fuji finepix in case you are interested). I was recommended this camera by a friend and although it seemed a bit more than I wanted to spend, the £60 cashback offer from Nikon swayed me. I have never looked back. This camera is amazing, even my snapping results in shots that look semi professional! Its incredibly easy to use and really responsive, with a 5 month old baby I am no longer missing those moments but am capturing every expression as I wish. I have only had this camera about a month and so far I love it. It's certainly bigger than a compact camera so less handy to carry in your bag, but the difference in the quality of images is well worth it. I can't recommend this camera highly...

Great Entry Level D-SLR

Advantages: Small (for a D-SLR), practical, easy to use, nice touches
Disadvantages: slightly heavy, relatively low FPS for burst mode, doesn't operate as a usb drive on the computer

Easy to use, high quality digital SLR

...Having owned this camera for a few months now, I feel I have learnt enough about the camera to write a review on it. I would genuinely recommend this to anyone who wants a good quality SLR at an amazing price! QUALITY: With 10.2 megapixels, the image quality of the pictures produced from this is excellent. Review of Nikon D60

My experience of the Nikon D90 as an amateur photographer.

Advantages: Excellent picture quality, lots of useful features, well designed controls, great kit lens
Disadvantages: More expensive than some other DSLRs, quite big and heavy, limited movie mode

...charge and lasted for weeks! Even when I use the screen and flash a lot, it only used half the battery after taking around 800 pictures on 2 week holiday. Lenses I would definitely recommend the 18-105 kit lens you can get with the D90. It has the VR vibration reduction feature, a speedy auto-focus motor and good image quality and a long enough zoom for all your everyday shots (much better than the 18 -55 lens that comes with other D models like the D5000). I also have a 70 - 300mm zooms lens for basic wildlife shots, which I bought on ebay for around £80. The D90 has the advantage on an inbuilt auto-focus motor, not found in the smaller bodied D40, D60 and D5000. This means that all Nikon lens can be used, rather than just the newer AF lenses. Nikon D90 - My Next 'Last' Camera

Advantages: Movies, LiveView, 12.3 mpixels, build quality, excellent lens range

..., although it?s noticeably slower if using LiveView, which also seems to take ages coming into focus. Lens Conversion Factor ? 1.5. This means that anyone used to the terminology of 35mm film-camera lenses will have to rethink the power of their existing lens collection. Under the old rule of thumb that a 50 mm focal length equalled 1 magnification, in digital days, it now represents 1.5 magnifications. This is because lenses don?t change, but the sensor of the D90 (and most other DSLRs) is about 66% the size of a 35 mm film negative (that?s about the same size as an APS negative ? remember them?). Hence my Nikkor 100 mm to 300 mm zoom is about 3 - 9 magnification (a power which would have needed a 150mm to 450 mm lens in ?celluloid days?) Note: All Nikon lenses ?fit?, even the lenses from my 1970s Nikon F, but don?t expect an old lens like this...

SUPER LENSES!!!

Advantages: Clear vision, stablity, allows more oxygen to eyes

...I am so glad i found these lenses!!. I have tried at least five different toric lenses, these are by far the best. The vision is much clearer than any of the other lenses i tried and they hardly rotate compared to others. I would definetly advice to try these lenses, trial them for free from your opticians. When i first tried these lenses they felt weird on my eyes and a bit uncomfortable as they are a bit thicker than other lenses but after a couple of days my eyes adjusted to them and now i am over the moon that i have finally found a pair of lenses that i can see clearly out of and do not need to wear glasses in the daytime anymore ( i wear glasses only when i take the lenses out usually evening time) They are a bit costly but they allow more oxygen to the eyes compared to others....

Nikon D40 - A great bargain for the beginning photographer!

Advantages: Cheap, easy to use, nice clear LCD screen
Disadvantages: No motor for auto focus

...certain auto focus lens with work on this camera, otherwise the lens must be adjusted manually. This was one problem I had when I first started as I was looking to get into live event and music photography where ideally an auto focus is needed. This then means the prices rocket up when needing to get a decent auto focus lens for either tele or micro. Apart from that, the camera has always been by my side and managed to get some outstanding quality pictures. Defiantely a bargain for the starting photographer. However if you are looking to be more open with your photography and wish to get further lenses then I would reccommend the D60, which at a slightly higher price, has a built in auto focus making things alot easier and cheaper in the long run....
