...As anyone interested in photography will know - lenses don't come cheap, especially quality lens, except this one. The 50mm 1.8 has a reputation for quality at a reasonable price and it's a reputation well deserved. Yes the 50mm is a 'small' lens but it's a prime lens. Some may find that the need for them to move forwards or backwards to get the correct composition for a photograph is too...

...I?ve always liked having a camera that can have interchangeable lenses, even if I don?t buy (m)any. In the case of my current DSLR (Digital Single Lens reflex) a Nikon D7000, I do actually have two lenses. a) The 18-105 mm ?standard zoom? supplied with the camera and b) A further 70-300mm zoom lens that I already had from previous Nikon purchases. Handily, these two lenses have served me well...
