The Dolphin's Dead, long Live Gamecube
Review of Nintendo Gamecube by
jdaykin
Advantages: Gamecube kicks butt!
Disadvantages: Delays Kick sales!!
...Nintendo was once the greatest console manufacture on planet Earth. Today it still is- but Sony for some reson is hugely more popular. All is not lost! In a year or two's time the greatest piece of hardware on planet Earth will be released, the Nintendo Gamecube.
Once known as the 'Nintendo Dolphin' the console was officially named Gamecube about two months ago, and at the same time the cubular box was shown to the world. We also saw some highly impressive demos, much better than anything the PS2 has.
The games will not come on carttridges like previous Nintendo consoles but instead on small specially designed DVDs. This will allow large sized games, cheaply, whilst still helping to fight crime.
The controller too deserves praise, though it is a little strange looking. The only problem with all this? It wont arrive on British shores...

!!GameCube Connects To Broadband!!
Review of Nintendo GameCube Broadband Adaptor by
benraiben
Advantages: Allows fast smooth online gameplay with your GameCube
Disadvantages: People provided by AOL won't be able to utilise this yet/ Not enough reason to purchase one yet.
...Nintendo has finally reached the 21st century, by coming up with the ability to allow players to play games over networks, as you would do with online games on the PC. Even Xbox and Playsation 2 owners have had the pleasure for a fair while now. Nintendo has been slow, but it is gradually getting there.
It's great to be able to play games with friends as opposed to just alone vs. the computer's artificial intelligence (which sometime can be plane daft, or cheat-like!). However, it isn't always possible to have friends over. So what is the solution?
The solution is this broadband adaptor for the Nintendo GameCube console.
If you decide to purchase one of these you will find one Nintendo GameCube Broadband Adapter and the instruction manual. The box, the manual and the adaptor itself are all produced to a high quality, as can always...

Can Gamecube be a success
Review of Nintendo Gamecube by
Mr.Writer
Advantages: Classic Nintendo titles! Great graphics, sound etc 4 contoller ports. A proper games machine, nothing else
Disadvantages: Still not due for a while, possible high price
...Nintendo have had degrees of success in the field of consoles, videogames and handhelds. The NES system is fondly remembered by many due to its amazing graphics (back then!), and stunning games. All the classics started out here, Mario, Zelda, Donkey Kong. The SNES was also a hit, although it was not as popular as Sega's Megadrive it was still a very popular machine again with quality titles and graphics. The Gameboy is an amazing product, it is over 10 years old and still going strong! The N64 never quite achieved what Nintendo thought it might.
So when you look at the Gamecube the one thing you must ask is: Will it be a success? Based on past history I would say yes. Nintendo consoles have never flopped and Nintendo have not made too many mistakes in the past either. However here are some reasons for why the Gamecube might...

Gamecube slipping away?
Review of Nintendo Gamecube by
scruggs
Advantages: Easy to pass the time away
Disadvantages: The taste
...The Nintendo gamecube was released in 2001 and since then it had slowly but surely decreased in popularity. And for this I ask the question is the Nintendo Already Slipping away?
From the three major consoles on the market now (XBOX, PS2 and Gamecube) my personal favourite has to be the Xbox and the Gamecube at the bottom of the three. Like all other major consoles Nintendo have released they don't stay at the height of popularity for long as Playstation always seem to take over and now Xbox appears to be taking over both consoles.
Nintendo has never really been huge as I feel they don't move on and change with the time's as when a new console is released keen fan's of Nintendo know what will be expected from the latest console as Mario, Zelda are always involved which I think makes potential buyers steer away and buy...

Mr Rubix wishes he'd invented this
Review of Nintendo Gamecube by
control6
Advantages: Nintendos High-Quality Reputation
Disadvantages: Not many
...with the old NES systems.
Most people will be judging the new GameCube system by looking backwards to Nintendo's last system, the Nintendo 64. Realistically, this console was a very high powered system with some classic games. But as much as I loved that machine, it did get stomped on by Sonys marketing machine. Sony is a huge player and Nintendo knows this. This can only be a good thing, I'm sure all Nintendo's tech spods will be working in overdrive, to produce a new masterpiece console.
I've never met a disappointed Nintendo owner. The games are always fun to pick up and play, and tend to have much more longevity than most games. You have to remember that Nintendo have been in the gaming industry longer than most, and they defiantly have a few more tricks up their sleeve.
Nintendo stamps its very original feel on all of its products...

Nintendo are back
Review of Nintendo Gamecube by
Xeon007
Advantages: Excellent system specs, quality games promised from quality publishers, brilliant system design
Disadvantages: No DVD player, not backwards compatible with the Nintendo 64
...disappeared but the N64 hung on in there. Sega came again with the Dreamcast - a brilliant machine that should have succeeded but didn't - and then promptly quit making hardware. Once again, Nintendo finished in second place.
That should leave just Sony and Nintendo for the new next-generation war. Sony's answer is already out - the overrated PlayStation 2 - and Nintendo have announced their new console - the GameCube (aka Dolphin, N-Cube). A new player has also emerged - Microsoft with their X-Box.
So who will win? Personally, I think that Nintendo have got a real chance with the GameCube to reclaim the crown in the videogames kingdom. The PlayStation 2 seems to have stalled - with poor DVD playback, average games and a price tag about £150 too high, is that a surprise? The X-Box is a still relatively unknown force but it could just...

Nintendo -No - No - No- Modem Yet!
Review of Nintendo Modem (analogue) by
benraiben
Advantages: Play games over the 'net'/ (Will) add longitivity to games/
Disadvantages: Maximum utilisation not yet possible/ Won't work for anyone with AOL as an internet provider.
...Nintendo has finally reached the 21st century, by coming up with the ability to allow players to play games over networks, as you would do with online games on the PC.
The somewhat simple solution to this is - the Nintendo 56k modem!
As usual with Nintendo, the packaging and products are all of a high quality.
In the box, you get the following the one Nintendo GameCube Modem Adapter, along with one standard phone wire (which is approximately 12 feet...

Nintendo's "Super" console
Review of Nintendo SuperNES by
jam_2004
Advantages: The start of Nintendo's quest for gaming domination
Disadvantages: It's obsolete
...console to date the Nintendo Gamecube. Not all parties survived though as SEGA was killed following their dismal sales of the Dreamcast. But SEGA do continue to make games thankfully. As for Nintendo sadly they may be going the same way as SEGA because they don't seem to have the heart or passion to compete with the XBOX or PS2. And I know that they could compete with them but maybe Nintendo wants to call it a day. But Nintendo isn't hanging up it's boots yet as a new console has been announced which will be The Gamecube 2 lets hope this gives Microsoft and Sony a run for there money. I'm a PS2 man but as a consumer you have to have competition and if Nintendo does go the same way as SEGA it's going to be a sad day for all of us as gamers. You've got to remember that the Gamecube 2 will be going up against the XBOX 2 and the console...
