Nintendo's most successful console since the SNES
Advantages: Innovation, attractive looks, back catalogue, playability
Disadvantages: Finicky Wiimote controls, no CD/DVD video support, extra purchase for full package
...I have always admired Nintendo's quirky approach to their more recent console incarnation. For me it all started with their choice of media for the Nintendo 64. But despite the restriction of cartridge based games Nintendo and indeed the supporting developers made sure that the N64 was getting its fair share of games in comparison to the CD ROM based platforms.
Even with the next machine which they decided to call 'Gamecube' they opted for an 8cm optically read disc similar to a mini DVD. This I thought was a bad move since I felt that that choice of mini media restricted the GC potential compared to the Playstation 2 and up and coming Xbox which had both opted to use DVD.
In the 'next gen' console wars Nintendo decided to turn their attention away from power and use innovation. Upgrading the GC architecture, and opting...

Nintendo Wii, A great Console
Advantages: Gamecube backwards compatible, Great games
Disadvantages: Tiring when playing games like boxing
...The Nintendo Wii Is a great console if your an active gamer (and sometimes a lazy gamer) The reason The wii is a great console is because it is motion sensitive (Meaning with the sensor Bar mounted on your tv, if you move your character will move too) The Only disadvantages about this console is that it doesn't support DVD / CD, meaning if you like watching movies and listening to music, then your gonna need a DVD player for that, there are only a few more disadvantages including: The white finish can get dirty very easily, the games can tire you out after a while, and you have to buy each accessory seperately, (Like an extra wii remote doesn't come with the nunchuck, you have to buy that seperately too).
But the Wii also has advantages like a few Games to keep you fit, and A downloadable back catalogue of games (Like Mario Games) But...

The best Nintendo console to date
Advantages: innovative contols, backwards compatibility
Disadvantages: the Wiimote eats batteries
...The Wii is the innovative new console from Nintendo.
The control system is also innovative which gives greater interaction with the games such as in raceing games to steer you tilt the Wiimote left or right and in shoot-em-ups it gives you greater accuracy and the wiimote and nunchuck makes it easy for anyone to play, from people that has never played games to veteran gamers.
Included in the box is Wii sports which includes five games (Tennis, Baseball, Bowling, Golf and Boxing). All these games can give you a good workout if played enough and has also been used in some schools for PE lessons.
The console is also backwards compatible with the Nintendo Gamecube games and has four Gamecube control pad ports and two Gamecube memory card slots.
There are a number of Wii channels available from the start and Nintendo are releasing...

THE NINTENDO DS....A CONSOLE FOR ALL AGES
Advantages: GREAT GAMES...TOUCH SCREEN...SMALL SIZE
Disadvantages: NONE
...connection, these are not extremely expensive and would set you back roughly £17 from eBay.
Now let me recommend some great games if you are considering purchasing a ds: Phoenix right, new super Mario bros, Wario ware, Fifa, Rune factory, Trace memory, Mario kart, Zelda, Fullmetal alchamest, Cooking mama, Brain age 2, Advance wars: days of ruin, and whatever else takes you're fancy. Obvioulsly it does come down to personal genre choice, but here are some forthcoming games on the ds to look out for: Smackdown v Raw, the ward, many Mario and Sonic games.
Smackdown vs Raw is the first wrestling game on the ds, and the ward is definitely not a game for little children, but on for the adults. So keep an eye out for those two.
Nowadays you can but he Nintendo ds for between £70-£120 depending on special offers. Games cost between £25-£30. Also...

One of the worst Nintendo consoles ever, but still worth owning!
Advantages: cheap, accessible, good wi-fi, handful of great games
Disadvantages: too many terrible games, gimmicky controls, lazy softward developers
...I'm a big Nintendo fan. I've owned all of their major consoles. The Wii is a good system in its own right, but when compared with earlier Nintendo systems, its not that great.
The graphics are often average, and this is not necessarily because the Wii is incapable of producing high quality graphics, its just that developers are often lazy and don't know how to get the best out of the console. Whereas "first party" games, directly from Nintendo (Mario, Zelda, Metroid etc.) all have programmers with the expertise to maximise the systems graphical capabilities.
The motion controls are gimmicky. But for "first person shooter" games they are a brilliant addition. They often makes games more immerseive and the controls more accurate. Although, as with graphics, many games do not utilise the motion controls correctly.
The library...

NINTENDO WII CONSOLE FUN, FUN, FUN
Advantages: Extremely energetic gaming fun for the whole family
Disadvantages: None that I can think of
...This product came to my notice when my daughter put it on her birthday list for her number one present last year. When I started to look for this item in the shops this then showed me just how popular these consoles were. I searched high and low and even added my name to a couple of high street stores to be phoned back when some became available without much success as everyone was nintendo wii mad as my daughter's birthday is in November the demand is great at this time for the latest consoles, toys etc. Well eventually I decided to try my luck on Ebay to get hold of one of these scarce consoles so as not to dissapoint my daughter on her birthday. I bid on a number of the consoles to find I was out bid a number of times, I was fast losing hope of ever getting one of these but then eventually after many dissapointments I managed to get...

Nintendo Wii
Advantages: Great Fun, Good Exersize
Disadvantages: Graphics Maybe
...I think that the Nintendo Wii is one of the better consoles on the market for the family as they are lots of competitive games available on it to interest all the family, including Wii Sports, Wii Fit, Wario Wares and Mario Party just to name a few.
The Wii Fit is an interactive console that stimulates gameplay by using movement instead of just button bashing, the graphics arent always as good on the Wii as they are on the Playstation 3 or Xbox 360 but I as a bit of an old school gamer think that this is one of the charms that the Wii holds in its simplicity.
You play Wii games with your Wii remote that is senitive to movement as long as you have the receiver near by to receive the signal from the remote, this normally sits discretley on top of the TV that you are playing Wii on.
You can customize your Wii remote by buying...

Nintendo for the Wiin?
Advantages: Priced, Innovative, Masterpieces Guaranteed
Disadvantages: No Movie Playback, Narrower Game Library, Weaker Graphics
...Effect" and "White Knight Story".
Nintendo has decided to go in a different direction, figuring games have now taken the form they were imagining and it's finally time to revolutionize the way they are played. They came up with a small, stylish, affordable unit to do it: The Wii is slightly bigger than your computer's disc drive and more than 4 times smaller than the 360 and the PS3.
That's not to say processing power was neglected. The Wii is touted as being two and a half times more powerful than the GameCube, which has produced some terrific looking games. "Resident Evil 4" looked fantastic and "The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess", principally developed as a GameCube title, is massive and has gorgeous character models.
Inevitably, as the Wii's power is slowly untapped, even more impressive games will surface. They'll never...

Nintendo Wii - The Next Generation.
Advantages: The console is Cheap, Fun to play and is fun for the whole family.
Disadvantages: The graphics let the cosole down and the controller is har dto get used to.
...INTRO
Nintendo have always tried to change the gaming world, but have always been beat with microsoft and sony. Nintendo have come up with the ideas and put them in the console, but have always missed out th key features of a game console such as graphics and sound. Also Games on the Wii ahve not all been satisfactory. Because The Wii has such inovative features that the games have had to be changed so muchthat the gameplay was not always up to the top level. However the Wii has entertained many people and with the new release off wii fit and the balance board has really got people into the nintendo mood. Wii fit has made the wii capable of taking over about 50% of the fitness world.
THE GOOD PARTS
The Nintendo wii's revolutionary controller that offers motion - senitive gameplay options and the strap for safetey, not forgetting...

Nintendo Wii review
Advantages: Looks good, innovative, good range of games
Disadvantages: None
...The Nintendo Wii is a home video console released by Nintendo. It is Nintendo's fifth home console and a direct successor to the Gamecube. It was released in November in the US and over here the following month.
Ever since word leaked out about Nintendo's new console, it had the codename of 'Revolution'. That changed after 27th April 2006, when the name was changed to 'Wii'. This change wasn't well received by some people who thought it was too childish and that Revolution was a much better name. But I have to say, after two years, it's really grown on me, and now I can't imagine the console being called Revolution!
The Wii is backwards compatible with the Gamecube, meaning that you can play all your favourite Gamecube games on it. You just slide it into the slot loading optical drive and away you go. The console has 4 Gamecube...
