Nissan Note - A Car For All Seasons

Nissan Primera - a drivers car

Advantages: Reliable, comfortable, driving pleasure,
Disadvantages: Rather bland exterior, (sometimes) high service costs

...Since my wife converted me from Vauxhall to Nissan circa 1993, I have never bought (or even considered) buying anything but a Nissan. I purchased my S-reg Nissan Primera 1.6GX A/C 5 door hatchback in Jan 2000 to replace my P-reg Almera, as I needed a bigger car having 2 young children. The car has proved to be extremely reliable and a through joy to drive. As part of the role (I work as an IT consultant), I often have to travel around the country. The company I work for provides hire cars rather than company cars so during my time, I have driven Peugeot 306 & 406, Rover 400, Vauxhall Astra & Vectra, Ford Mondeo, Volkswagen Passat and the only one that I would say is a better driving experience is the Passat (although this had EXTREMELY light power steering). Review of Nissan Primera 1.6

Nissan Micra

Advantages: The looks and the fuel type is amazing and the insurance group.
Disadvantages: Not that much safety and the comfort.

...Nissan Micra's come in a 1.0 litre hatchback they mostly come in 5 doors or 3 doors. The performance on the road is very nippy, 3/5 also the handling and the ride is quite the same. These Micra's are great insurance group is low fuel is great, on the otherhand the security isnt becuase some micras from 1994-1998 dont have any alarm or anything but ll models have plenty of airbags. The ownership is great buying and selling is easy and no hassle to sell these nippy motors are Quality & reliability many people gave the ownership a 4/5. These 1.0litre micras changed a lot from the 1900's till know there are over 100,000 micras know in the U.K. The looks of a micra is great thats what attracts people to buy these cars. 9/10 people voted that micras are good for first drivers....

NISSAN

Advantages: GOOD PAY
Disadvantages: LONG HOURS

...I have worked for NMUK for 8 years now so I think I am well quialified to talk about Nissan. When I started, Nissan were only building 2 models and the employees at that time knew that it would be hard to go up to a 3 model plant i.e. Almera, Micra and Primera. Well things have not changed it's still hard now. At present Nissan at Sunderland are now making the Note, Primera, Micra and the all new Quashki ( A CROSS OVER CAR 2 WHEEL DRIVE COME 4X4). Nissan now employees around 5000 staff 4500 witch actually build the cars with 15000 people making parts for the factory in the local area. So Nissan is a major employer both directly and indirectly. If Nissan were to close it would have a big impact on the Northeast of England as did the loss of the Pits and the Shipyards. Most of the employees are full time with around 800 temps...

Benfield Nissan a no no

Advantages: Nice, spacious showroom, friendly sales staff
Disadvantages: Complete lack of after sales service.

Probably figured an 18 year old guy who could muster up £4000 in cash in an afternoon would be a good customer to hang onto for life. He certainly succeeded in impressing me, right up until the inevitable problems set in. Now I never expect a car to be perfect when it arrives. I mean, 12,000 pieces going together on a production line, its normal to expect a couple of things to be not right. However, my problem was a malfunctioning fuel gauge. It took six attempts to get Benfield to fix it under warranty before I took it to another Nissan Main Dealer who fixed it straight away. Please note that Benfield even managed to blame a guage that fluctuates between full and 1/4 full in three miles on the fact the car had 17" alloys...

Review of Nissan

Nissan 200SX - What a car!

Advantages: Power, rear wheel drive, high equipment levels as standard
Disadvantages: Lethal in the wet, not much room inside. Tyres not cheap.

...I have only owned my 200SX for 1 month now, but it is one of the best cars I have driven. Besides the out and out power of the 2 litre turbocharged engine, the handling complements it being very precise. Unfortunately the car is a compromise, it is really only a 2 seater, and the boot is not what you would call massive. Do beware the rain however. The fun that comes from the full boost at 4000 rpm in the dry turns into a threat in the wet. The tail becomes very skitish when pulling out of junctions, 3rd gear is advised if ou have a heavy right foot! I would recommend this car to anyone who can afford the insurance, and who wants a coupe that is a little different from the average Celica or Cougar....

Nissan Micra - My new car

Advantages: Cheap to run, buy and insure
Disadvantages: Small, Doesn't have the best image

...My nissan Micra is my fourth car and having previously owned a Fiesta, Mazda 323 auto, and astra, I have found that this new micra is by far the most modern and quickest of them all. Mine is the post 1998 model which gave it new headlamps giving the car a permanatly 'surprised' look about it, a stronger body, more standard features and a newer, nicer, interior. The bodywork when i bought mine had numerous scratches and dents on it as it was owned by an elderly lady, but replacement body panels are as cheap as they come and i had the car looking brill in no time at all. It also had a low mileage of only 50000 on the clock, and apart from the exterior 'prangs' there was nothing wrong with the car. The engine is excellent, especially for a 1.0, but the 16v makes all the difference. Mine will cruise on the motorway between...

Nissan Primera -Very Modern Different Car

Advantages: Very Comfortble , well equipped very roomy
Disadvantages: Poor rear visibility,looks not to my taste

I have been driving the New Primera for two weeks now having previously driven a Mondeo and Honda Accord. Ill give a comparison at the end. This is really a subjective thing though does have an impact on rear visibility. I was driving the base 1.8 model so no rear view camera and without it parking is tricky. Nissan Qashqai

Advantages: Easy to get in and out of, big wing mirrors
Disadvantages: awkward to reach handbrake

...The Qashqai is lovely to drive. It has ESP to help you round corners etc. It feels solid and has been voted Safest European car of the Year! Seems to have airbags everywhere. Lovely comfy seats at the front that can be adjusted back and forth as well as up or down. Easy to get in and out of. Rear view is a little limited but the compensation is the huge wing mirrors that fold back when you are parked. It also has a reversing sensor which is so sensitive it even noticed a small cat! The hand brake is awkwardly placed by the passenger and can get lost in coats! Loads of leg room front and back. A 'Don't mess with me' look. Also seems to sip the fuel! Currently I get about 40 mpg. I love it and am so glad I bought it. I have the Qashqai Accenta 1.6 in a kind of midnight blue. Much nicer than the grey or the orangey red...
