...I have sensitive dry skin so have to be very careful about what products I use. When it comes to cleansing my face I really like to use water as I feel I have actually washed, unlike when I use cleansing creams! I have tried several products that claim to be for sensitive skins over the years but have found many of these leave my skin feeling dry and tight at best and sometimes I have been left with a red irritated skin. I was given a bottle of Elemis sensitive cleansing wash by a close friend who also has sensitive skin and finds this perfect for her skin. Elemis sensitive cleansing wash is not cheap. It retails for around £18 for a 200 ml bottle, although it is worth shopping around as prices vary. It is available from many beauty salons or from John Lewis. So is it worth the cost? Advantages: Nice discrete scent, My girlfriend likes it, Leaves skin feeling supple

...I bought this product on the strength of the advertising. The ad on TV brought the product to my attention and made me take notice of it when I saw it in my local chemist. I tried a bit and it seemed smooth and refreshing for my skin. The price almost detered me, even though it was on offer but as I was buying a few cosmetics to look after myself I thought Id just give it one try. The bottle came in a cardboard box which I hung onto for a while because it looked nice. The box tells you about the extra vitamins and the other ingredients that have been added to make this potion. Having discarded the box I am left with a square box shaped toughened coloured glass bottle with a plastic square lid. The instructions tell about the product being specially formulated for sensitive skin with a neutral fragrance and being alcohol free...

Another great product from Nivea

...I grew up thinking of Nivea as a cream that came in a little blue tin and had a unique aroma. I also grew up thinking that face creams, cleansers and other associated products were the preserve of the fairer sex. So I was wrong on both counts, Nivea have more products now and some of which are for made exclusively with men in mind, Nivea sensitive shaving gel being one of them. This makes sense; skin is skin and suffers from the toils of day to day living, regardless of the sex of the person. Shaving makes skin more sensitive, well it does more than that, it can make it sore and even bleed. After shaving skin can feel and look red, as well as shaving removing hair it also strips skin of its natural oils leaving it feeling dry and sometimes tender. Us poor men who choose to remove our facial hair have to suffer this on a daily...

...again as no other shaving foam has had this effect. The only other way I can have a rash free shave is to go to a proper Barbour and have a good olde cut throat shave but that is a tad expensive. So it you are a man with sensitive girly skin buy it you will not regret it, or if your man has sensitive girly skin buy it for him and save him the embarrassment of buying Nivea products....

Nivea Gonna Give You Up

...I'm a bit of a sensitive type. A "fairly helpful" rating on one of my ops has me inconsolable for days. I burst into tears at the sight of Rolf Harris presenting "Animal Hospital". I haven't even dared watch "Bambi" for fear of the consequences. My skin is sensitive as well (brilliant link, eh?) and that's why I use Nivea After Shave Balm. The last thing I need after shaving is to douse my skin with an aftershave that stings like hell and makes your skin red and blotchy. Nivea moisturises and soothes your skin, which is pretty important when you consider that shaving is probably tearing off a couple of layers of your skin anyway! PRICE Nivea After Shave balm retails for around £4-5 for a 100ml bottle, but you should be able to get it a bit cheaper because I believe it's being discontinued. I picked some up in Boots midweek...

When shaving I often begin to feel the stinging pain and redness after finishing my shave that can last for a few hours. When I first began shaving, it was hard to get used to the stinging sensations that follow with shaving, and I think my skin is quite sensitive. After initially covering my face in the cream, there is a really strong stinging pain for a minute or two. Has me looking like a new man
