...AUTAN FAMILY CARE MOSQUITO REPELLENT Whe we went to Egypt over the easter holiday, I was fairly obsessed about not being bitten by mosquitos and so took several products with us, this being one of them WHAT IS IT? This is basically a mosquito repellent- it doesn?t state that it repels other biting bugs and insects but hopefully the same products work at repelling them. The repellent is delivered via fine powder particles which will apparently dry immediately and repel mosquitos for up to 4 hours. PRODUCT AND PACKAGING... The product comes in a 100ml aerosol can with a pull off lid and all of the instructions and information are on the back of the can When i spray the repellent onto exposed bits, it does in fact come out as promised- very fine particles which dry as soon as they touch the skin. Keeping the Insects Away?!

Advantages: Good aftersun moisturiser.
Disadvantages: Not great at keeping insects away.

...on both male and females without being too feminine! * Insect repellent As described, there isn't any offensive scent from the insect repellents that are used within the cream but as for it's ability to repel insects, I still got quite a few bites on a night time whilst sitting outside on an evening. Certainly not as many as I would normally get from mosquitoes but during the day, I was badly bitten by horseflies. * Overall A good moisturiser for slightly dried out skin in sunnier climes. Not sure as to it's ability to repel insects totally. As already stated there were still some completely immune to whatever scent they put in this cream and still got a little nibble which wasn't great and still uncomfortable a week after returning! Next time, I certainly wouldn't be paying extra for the insect repellent factor in the cream...

Wipe to repel

...Jungle formula wipes When we were in Egypt for a recent holiday, there were quite alot of mosqitos. Having realised that this would probably be the case, I stocked up on mosquito repellent lotions and potions and these were one of the products. WHAT ARE THEY? These wipes promise to repel mosqitoes midges and other biting insects for up to 6 hours. They have apparently been approved by the hospital for tropical Diseases for use in countries where there is no known risk of malaria or other insect transmitted diseases. They won?t protect against these diseases so for anyone travelling where there is a risk, the extra strength wipes should be used. PRODUCT AND PACKAGING... The wipes themselves come in a box which is the usual Jungle Formula green colour and it has all of the instructions for use on the back of the box...

There's no flies on me!

Advantages: effective insect repellent, no bites, keeps mosquitoes away
Disadvantages: contains DEET , strong smell

...need to use two ?squirts? for each arm and around 4 ?squirts? for each leg. For use on the face it is best to squirt a little in the palm of your hand and apply. One thing I found is that if you accidentally get it on your lips and end up licking them, the taste is absolutely vile and it takes a while for the bitter taste to disappear. We went away for two weeks and one 75ml bottle is enough for one person based on 3 applications a day. The main ingredient of Jungle Formula is DEET which disrupts the ability of insects (the biting ones) to detect the carbon dioxide that is naturally given off by our skin and breath, which is what, attracts the Mosquitoes to us. If you have used repellent with DEET it will be of no surprise to you that it absolutely stinks, so there is no wonder the flies don?t like it!! Just a little caution...

Review of Jungle Formula Insect Repellent

One of the best insect repellents around

Advantages: strong enough, value for money, not that smelly
Disadvantages: Not strong enough for serious jungle work

...I bought this product this year after previously owning the 100 deet repellent, which is far stronger. However i will have to say that if i had the choice against i would definitely buy the 50 instead and for the following reasons: 1. It is not as smelly as the 100 deet and therefore if you plan on walking into nice restaurants or just being with company in general you can get away from it, unlike the stronger stuff which makes you smell like a chemical plant. 2. It is far stronger than any home-brand names you get on the High Street and therefore i found that after a 3 week trip to a malaria infected area i hardly had any mosquito bites. 4. Although it is strong enough to keep all mozzies at bay with exception of the dreaded piri piri fly, it is not strong enough to really damage your clothes or make your skin feel...

CALLING ALL INSECTS

Advantages: Stops you burning, to a point
Disadvantages: Doesn't seem to repel insects. Could protect better

...was quite thin and absorbed into the skin with out leaving that greasy film; which is great when you?re out and about, as you don?t get every mote of dust sticking to you. The consistency also made it nice to apply. You didn?t feel like you needed to wash your hands when you?d done, making it great for re-application when you are out and about. So at the end of the day, how did it fair? Well, sun protection wise it did quite well. I burn easily and am a bit lax when it comes to re-applying. I got someone to help with the application on my back and had red patches where they missed a bit. So it would have been quite a bad sunburn without the cream. As for the insect repellent, I still think to this day that they got mixed up and put attractant in it! My legs were covered in insect bites, yet my mum, who usually reacts badly to bites had...

...Today I am going to write about Mosi-guard Natural. I believe there are two to three types of mosi-guard. There's the spray, cream and wipes. Here, I am going to write about the lotion/cream version. It is in the form of a 100 ml tube. From what I read, it is supposed to repel mosquitoes from me. It is useful for outdoor activities during the warmer temperatures. Especially during the warmer seasons (like now for example), the mosquitoes are out in force creating havoc to my enjoyment of nature. The cream works as an insect repellent. The difference between a personal insect repellent and those we used in our homes and gardens is that the personal one is less harmful because it contains less dangerous chemicals.
