More than GREAT Ocean Road!

Advantages: Sights and scenery
Disadvantages: None that I can think of

...of the Great Ocean Road seeing the spectacular costal route. Along the way we seen koala's in the wild up in the tree and luckily enough the bus stopped so we could get to see the up closer and take a photograph if we wanted. Then next stop was at the Mait Rest Rainforest where we went for a leisurely walk. The tour guide gave us some educational information on the rainforest and different trees were explained to us. We had a small quiz and whoever could answer the question got some mints it was like being back in school, but it was fun and light-hearted! In the end everyone got a mint so no-one felt left out. We stopped at a visitor centre which to be honest I didn't find very interesting but then I was just rearing to go out and see things and not be stuck in a building reading about things, I'm very impatient lol! ...Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro I picked this book up at the Westfield Centre in Derby at the Book crossing shelf in Gloria Jean?s cafe. I love looking through what others have put up for sharing while I enjoy my cup of coffee. This book attracted me because of its colour scheme of orange and green which I thought might be a book based in Africa but I was mistaken. The next thing that struck me was the mysterious title and the fact that it was shortlisted for the Man Booker Prize in 2005. I had not heard of Kazuo Ishiguro prior to picking this book up but when I looked inside I discovered that he was the author of ?Remains of the Day? which was a film I really found fascinating but I hadn?t read the book. Dynamite Road by Andrew Klavan

Advantages: Strong, world-weary lead detective. Delivers a fresh perspective in telling the story through the eyes of an employee.
Disadvantages: Occasionally weighted down with cliched moments

...“A private detective story with a twist” is how I like to describe Dynamite Road. Subtitled ‘A Weiss and Bishop Novel’, this is the first book in a series (now 2 books strong) featuring Scott Weiss who runs and owns Weiss Investigations, his detective agency and his main operative Jim Bishop. This is all pretty straightforward and standard, but the story is being told by an employee of the detective agency, presumably Andrew Klavan himself, who works there doing clerical duties while writing a novel in his spare time, presumably Dynamite Road. I found this little concept and the way in which Klavan presented it to us, to give a very fresh perspective to the story. Before we meet the men for whom the series is named, we are introduced to a man who is only ever referred to as "the man known as Ben Fry". Now here...
