The sound of a revolution

...Before I got my iPod and sounddock, I was one of those who refuses to subscribe to the technological revolution. Prefering hi-fi and compact disc to the digital music phenomenon. However, within a week (once I'd worked out how to use it), I was hooked on my iPod and once I got the sound-dock, there was no turning back. I think it's fairly safe to say that the era of compact disc players and tape decks is over... The only reason I still have a normal cd player in my house is to listen to the radio, and those few albums that I just haven't got around to putting on my iPod yet. The Bose sound-dock is a piece of mastery in the area of audio technology. Beautiful, sleek and streamlined; it's large frontal speaker provides both volume and sound quality. The music I play on the sound-dock sounds almost incomparably better than CDs...

Environmentally sound

Review of Doubtful Sound

Bose SoundDock is remarkable quality, clear and crisp sound

...In my opinion the Bose sounddock was a great spend. I was looking for a quality product to enable me to listen to my iPod. I shopped around and tried out a few other speakers, e.g. JBL onstage. The Bose sound was remarkable. It was so clear it was unbelievable. I got a surround sound feeling whilst listening to the speakers and there was no sign of the low hum or odd crackle one sometimes finds accompanies certian speakers. I have now had my Bose speakers for a year. One year on and they still look new (the newer model still looks the same) and the sound is still clear and precise. It is very easy to function and from my point of view speakers which come without a remote are an uneccesary hassle, fortunately the Bose Sounddock comes with a very well equipped remote. Bose Sound Dock (2nd Generation)

Advantages: Incredible sound from such a small unit, good build quality
Disadvantages: Price

...the battery off as this is the bit that weighs a lot. The controls are easy - you put your ipod on the dock (or connect something else to it) and then there are two touch sensitive controls on the right hand side for volume. It switches off automatically and charges your ipod whilst it is connected. I don't think that you could compare it to a decent separates system, but for the size of the unit, the sound is incredible. You can turn up the volume quite loud and there is no distortion. There is a sound port on the back which doubles as the handle, and I found that putting against a wall gives a much deeper bass. The only negative I have to say about the unit is that the power adaptor is massive and could have been designed better. It also comes with a remote control that lets you mimic some of the control features of your ipod - volume...

Can't say enough good things about the Bose SoundDock

Advantages: size, ease of use, sound quality
Disadvantages: can't connect to a computer, price

...figure out what they do. It also charges your iPod while it's docked, so there's no worry about it running out of battery while using the SoundDock. I think the best thing I could say about this, is that two people, after having listened to my SoundDock have literally rushed out and bought their own. I've had this almost a year now and my overall conclusion is this...it's small, it's pretty and it sounds bloody brilliant....

...Bose SoundDock Digital Music System I happened to get this as a gift and it turned out to be quiet interesting Summary: This dock is used mainly for ipod and allows you to connet mp3 players to it and listen to high quality music via speakers. It is idle for homes and small gatherings, although I would not run a party off these. Pros: This system has terrific sound and can go very load despite its relative small size. As with almost all Bose speakers the quality is amazing, so long as the source you are playing it from is high quality it will allow the speakers to each its potential. I have a surround sound Bose set up in one of my rooms but now prefer to use this product as it is very simple to operate. Just plug the mp3 player in and press play and your set. Can't get much simpler. It also runs off a wall...

...their cover of the Pointer Sisters? dance hit, Jump. I think they did this cover a good service and made it current and up to date. ...wouldn't say amazing as it isn't. Its rich clear and not to basey in my opinion. As with anything you have to hear it for yourself as we all hear differently. The volume level is good and fills our open plan, living, and dining and kitchen room. I am quite pleased with the overall sound from such a small unit. I find the best position for this unit is the corner of a room. The unit charges your ipod via the dock connector whilst playing or when switched off. I like the fact I can use my ipod at work come home stick it in the SoundDock and play my tunes while I make dinner. By the time that's done it's charged and ready for action again. Overall I am quite happy with this unit however it does have some imperfections. The first being the lack of controls on the unit. The second is this unit works off mains only. There is no auxiliary port...

...At the end of last year, whilst looking for Christmas presents for my horde of family, I kept noticing the Peter Kay autobiography. It was a massive £18.99, so I put it on my own Christmas List, but to honest, didn?t expect to get it in my stocking. On Christmas Day, I wasn?t disappointed, as I didn?t get it. I bought mine in a supermarket at half price in March, and I felt it was a real bargain for a hard back book with such good quality pages. I think that Peter Kay is someone you love or loathe. I am the former, and watching his live shows, has me crying with laughter, even when I have seen it before, and know what is coming.
