...Upon my phone contract coming to an end, I decided that it was time for me to upgrade and treat myself to a new phone. My old one was 18 months old and rather tatty with a back held on by selotape and a battery that seemed to die every 5 minutes. Advantages: Nice looking and light weight..

...The Handset: The handset for this phone is very sleek - its about half a centimetre wide and holding it can take some getting used to if you have had an older model phone for a while as they are often wider. ...Well a few months ago my phone contract came up for renewal. I have been a customer of O2 for a long time and so I know that I can always get myself a good deal on a contract. ...The 6500 Classic is Nokia's thinnest phone so far, and is a stunningly beautiful phone too. It's easy to use and does just what I want from a phone - make calls, take pictures and play music. Supplied with 1 Gbyte of memory and a stereo headset, it's already equipped to go. The only thing that is really missing from this 3G phone is video calling. The battery life isn't brilliant but is better than a lot of other similar phones. The small keypad can take a little time to get used to aswell. The 6500 Clasic is extremely sleek with its aluminium casing ("individually polished", according to the Nokia blurb) and is available in Black and Bronze. I do like the 6500 Classic. It's a very beautiful phone and lovely to use, apart from the small keypad. It isn't all-singing and all-dancing, but that's not necessarily a bad thing....

...After recently getting rid of my old Orange contract and moving to O2 I decided to get a new phone as well. After much deliberation I decided on the Nokia 6500 slide in black. I could have got the silver phone at a much cheaper price but I decided that the black one looked too good to turn down. First Impressions If you look at the phone from a top down view you will see that the screen is quite big. Infact it is 2.2 inches which is fairly big. Below the screen are four buttons as well as 4 directional buttons in silver. The bottom two buttons are the main calling buttons. The one on the bottom left is the green "call" button which is used to dial a number you've typed in or look at the recent call list. The one on the bottom right is the "end call" button which ends calls and, when in the menu, takes you back to the home screen...

...After using my Nokia 6300 for around a year I decided to upgrade. I had the choice of a number of phones however opted to go for the Nokia 6500 Slide. I can see where some confusion can come from when it comes to the Nokia 6500: The Nokia 6500 Classic and Nokia 6500 Slide are two quite different phones. The classic came first and has a more traditional mobile phone layout and boasts a medicore 2.0MP camera. The slide on the other hand is the upgrade to the Classic and boasts an ultra sleek slide design with a pretty good 3.2MP camera with flash. It also comes with a front facing camera however unfortunately it can only be used while making 3G video calls and not just to take pictures. Although the phone looks very sleek and well built. I have had the phone for around a month and when I press the buttons it sometimes does not...

Advantages: Wide array of featues, good build quality, overall friendly interface, excellent call clarity.
Disadvantages: Battery life could be better, some features not implemented as well as possible.

...would still recommend the Nokia 6500 to any buyer, particularly those who have been missing out on a number of newer features. The problems I have encountered may be mildly irritating at the time but they only slightly detract from an otherwise very good product....
