...I recently upgraded my phone as my old one was going on the blink all the time. I went into the 02 shop and decided on this model as it looked like a stylish phone. When you slide the phone down it fades and becomes a mirrored surface. It has a built in radio, and it has the familiar nokia menu display. The main criticism is that it can be hard to hear the caller speaking, it has voice dialling, and an MP3 player, and it comes with a usb lead that plugs into the phone so you can easily transfer music, video and photo files. The camera is 3.2 megapixels and takes very good pictures, as yet I haven't taken any videos so I can't comment on the quality, it also has a fm radio, which the headphones come. Nokia 3600 slide phone

Advantages: Reliable, good many features, simple to use
Disadvantages: Short battery life and the appearance is a bit cheap looking

...After recently getting rid of my old Orange contract and moving to O2 I decided to get a new phone as well. After much deliberation I decided on the Nokia 6500 slide in black. I could have got the silver phone at a much cheaper price but I decided that the black one looked too good to turn down. First Impressions If you look at the phone from a top down view you will see that the screen is quite big. Infact it is 2.2 inches which is fairly big. Below the screen are four buttons as well as 4 directional buttons in silver. The bottom two buttons are the main calling buttons. The one on the bottom left is the green "call" button which is used to dial a number you've typed in or look at the recent call list. ...Bought in January of this year for £250 Sim-Free from an internet source. The reason I wanted this phone was due to the huge amount of features it has. The 1.0 Mega Pixel camera with 4X digital zoom, a whole 10 minutes of video recording too. Nice big clear screen that takes up about 45% of the phone face. Bluetooth and USB connectivity for the transferring of files. Email, WAP and Instant Messaging and so many more besides. The phones is quite big but nice and slim also so it does fit in your pocket easy enough. The camera on the rear of the phone is in a nice position so you wont get many snaps with half your finger in. ...After using my Nokia 6300 for around a year I decided to upgrade. I had the choice of a number of phones however opted to go for the Nokia 6500 Slide. I can see where some confusion can come from when it comes to the Nokia 6500: The Nokia 6500 Classic and Nokia 6500 Slide are two quite different phones. The classic came first and has a more traditional mobile phone layout and boasts a medicore 2.0MP camera. The slide on the other hand is the upgrade to the Classic and boasts an ultra sleek slide design with a pretty good 3.2MP camera with flash. It also comes with a front facing camera however unfortunately it can only be used while making 3G video calls and not just to take pictures. Although the phone looks very sleek and well built. ...I got a Nokia 6500 slide with a monthly contract deal from 3 mobile a few months ago. I had not had a Nokia before, but obviously knew them to be one of the largest handset manufacturers, so thought I would get this one to see what I was missing out on, the truth is....not a lot really. GOOD BITS. the phone is good looking, has a solid feel to the slider mechanism, a good camera with flash. BAD BITS. Battery life is a joke, ideally, it needs to be charged every day. The phone regularly completely crashes and re-sets itself, meaning all your personal settings ie. ringtones, wallpaper etc are set back to factory settings. In sunlight, the screen actually gets darker, and more difficult to see, then gets lighter in dark circumstances, surely Nokia know this is the wrong way round?? Nokia 6500 Slide - fairly good

Advantages: Very strong, scratch proof, very good volume and quality of music in the mp3 player
Disadvantages: battery time, radio did not work for me, voicemail did not always work for me

...I had my nokia 6500 slide for a year and a half, and as my contact ended i got a new phone - Samsung jét. Looking at the phone, in my opinion it is not the most attractive - dull grey, square shaped. However the dull exterior is scratch proof, which for those like me who are always dropping things, this is very useful. However, although scratch-proof, through my experiences i found that it was not 'dent-proof'! The phone has a regular 3.2 megapixel camera with flash, but as my friends brought out their new 5 and 8 megapixel camera phones, this 3.2 seemed fairly meagre in comparison, however it does its job (as well as video recording) and for me, the main aspect of the phone was not the camera. I send a lot of texts and this phone really was excellent for texting, the keypad is easy to use and the predictive texting is very simple...
