Nokia 8800, the journey continues
Advantages: Looks the part and has a great TFT screen
Disadvantages: Expensive and lacks anything of special interest to warrant the price tag
...After keeping hold of my Nokia 8310 for well over 12 months it sadly came to the end of its life recently after a trip round the washing machine and tumble dryer and after attempting to convince my daughter she needed a new phone (she is the source of all of my mobile phones) I had to bite the bullet and actually go out and part with some hard earned money.
Choosing which phone to buy is an absolute nightmare. There are so many functions, gadgets and brands on the market today, it simply is a minefield for the potential buyer. The first phone to catch my eye was the stylish Nokia 8800 and after I had seen the £275 price tag I decided this would be my treat and make my daughter positively green with envy.
Unlike my other Nokia phones the 8800 oozes quality with a stainless steel body with a slide mechanism to cover the keypad...

Silver, Slick, Super - Nokia 8800
Advantages: Outstanding design, with rich selection of functions
Disadvantages: A bit on the heavy side, and expensive
...The Nokia 8800 is no doubt an instant attraction to any eye beholding it. It's first high point is in its steel body giving it a lustre that is not a common feature with most other Nokia phones.
Truth is, i only used this mobile phone for a short period of one week while trying out its features to decide if I was going to buy it off a friend. Needless to say, I felt no desire to return, asides from the fact that I couldn't afford it at the time eventually. It stands you out distinctively amongst others surely.
The image resolution is more than impressive. The video doesn't bring about blurring effects experienced with most other video phones. It comes with a 16MB memory. the sounds are actually composed specially for the phone by a well known musician. Its blue tooth and infra red compatibilities meet every expectation.
Its...

Nokia 8800 : So stylish! So metallic!
Advantages: Sleek and stylish and very slim, with a sliding keypad cover
Disadvantages: heavy, poor battery life
...That's it my Nokia 6600 was on the verge of dying, I needed to use the loudspeaker when i was making a call because I could not hear a thing!!
So I was due for an upgrade and I chose the Nokia 8800.
If there's one thing I've learned it's that some people will always like shiny metal objects. Whether it's a pen, a toaster, a fridge, shiny and metal are good. I have a few metals things at home may be that's why I chose that phone..
Weighing in at 134 g and measuring 107 x 45 x 16.5 mm, the Nokia 8800 is both heavy and sleek at the same time but I don't mind really , my Nokia 6600 was a bit heavy too.
Features
The prestigious Nokia 8800 has a large 262,144 colour screen with special, scratch-resistant glass and a state-of-the-art sliding keypad cover that opens to reveal a 0.5 megapixel camera.
Other features include...

Nokia 8800 - Phone of the year?
Advantages: To many to mention
Disadvantages: Heavy, very small keys
...I haven't had a nokia for almost 10 years now, but once i saw this phone i just had to have it.
My V3 had become boring after a year and i got fed up waiting for the Pebl v6 to come out. The 8800 was everything i wanted in a phone (bluetooth, camera and video recorder, mp3 player, games) and Nokia have pulled out all the stops to produce what i think is the best phone on the market at the moment.
I think the battery life is quite good, i use the phone a lot and only have to charge it every other night but if you do find a problem with it, the phone is actually supplied with 2 batteries.
The main thing that stands out on this phone is how it looks, very shiny thanks to the stainless steel cover which also make it a very durable phone.
The games have amazing graphics and include golf, street race (car racing) and chess...

Nokia 8800 - all about looks?
Advantages: Fantastic feel and looks, crystal clear screen, unique, lots of accessories included
Disadvantages: Battery life is poor, only a 0.5 megapixel camera
...After much chasing I have finally received a Nokia 8800. This is designed as the flagship model of Nokias new releases and it certainly looks the part. Even the box is smartly designed and gives you an idea of the effort that has gone into producing this phone. Nokia has aimed to produce a phone that stands out from the crowd, and at first glance it certainly does.
The screen and stainless steel casing gleam and give the phone a feel of real quality. I have never seen a better screen on a mobile. Contained within the box are an excellent range of accessories - a protective suede pouch, a wired handsfree kit, a mains charger, a spare battery and a very nifty desktop charger. (For my previous Nokia 8910i I paid over £50 to assemble a similar range of accesories so I consider these inclusions as very good value!).
The phones software...

Nokia 8800 New World Of Phones!
Advantages: Great phone with everything possible!
Disadvantages: Nuffin
...Fantastic new release by nokia. It has everything you would ever want with a phone with the touch and the vision and also is real metal which is why it cost so much in the shops. Avery rare phone around nowadays so show off you stylish phone to the whole world with its glamour.
Some features are: stainless steel and reinforced glass, SVGA camera, high resolution display, speed data transferring, Bluetooth and an FM radio and plus much more.
Very expensive phone but once you brought it you would'nt care about the money!
As I got mine very cheap on ebay I recommend that you buy one off there as I brought mine brand new from mobile shops on ebay and its just like high streets but with much lower pricing!
Would recommend anyone to buy this wonder phone!...

Stunning, Classy Nokia 8800 Sirocco Gold
Advantages: 1st class look, Stainless Steel finish, Scratch resistant glass screen, looks and feels great
Disadvantages: Camera Quality (0.5 mp), Battery life is not good, No memory card, a little heavy to hold,
...The best looking phone ever manufactured by Nokia, simply Stunning!!
Looking for Class? Originality? this is the right phone for you, Outer casing made from stainless steel and is laser-cut for precision!!
The cover is made to protect the phone incase of accidental damage which is soo does! No need to worry about the kids dropping it (you should!) because its built to last.
Also the screen is made from scratch resistant glass which is double protection right there.
It has got several features including bluetooth which is fast and endless possibilities of games to download, digital music player, integrated camera, 3D imaging for enhanced graphics and a great colour display
But there are downsides to the specifications of the phone.
Examples, Camera quality isn't that good (0.5 megapixel)! and the sound quality is not to...

Nokia 8800 Sirocco Edition
Advantages: Stylish, Real Metal Case, Easy to Use, Nice Weight, Beautiful Sheen, Stands Out!,
Disadvantages: completely broke twice in 1 year
...I really like this phone, it actually feels like a phone! I hate the plastic, fragile phones available at the moment, there like toy phones, whereas the 8800 sirocco edition is the creme de la creme of mobiles available. It has a nice weight to it so it doesnt feel like it will blow away in the wind and its made of real metal not the cheap metal effect plastic most phones are made in. takes good quality 2mega pixel pictures which is great for when your out and forgot your camera! The colour screen is vibrant and the phone itself gleams a piano key black. Really stands out but in a subtle way. the metal casing does get finger prints all over it but it comes with a leather chammy cloth to clean it with and it has a leather carry case to help prevent scratches.
It can be easy when typing a text to accidentally send the message to...

A New and Needed Shine To The 8800
Advantages: Nokia Have Attempted A Decent Revamp - Not Just A New Lick Of Paint
Disadvantages: Nice Box & Exterior Don't Justify The Price - Awful Battery Life
...I Learnt Something New Today..........
...........Sirocco Translates To "Decent New Shell, "
The Original 8800 did well to justify it's place in Nokia's Long Line Of Premium, Exclusive Handsets. But It wasn't quite the complete package.
From the word go..... Sirocco impresses. From inside the "Milk Tray Esque" Box and Packaging, Nokia hid a newly shaded 8800, and immediately noticable is the additional tweaking to the dimensions and designs, an improved version no less!
Still slim and sleak, the handset seemed a little smaller. But one thing was for certain, the buttons were a massive improvement.... easier to handle, less fiddly than the 8800 of old!
And in keeping with the tradition of this range, the Sirocco feels robust and solid boasting a stainless steel exterior. It feels great to hold, and has a really smooth slide...

Nokia N97 - 'The new iPhone'
Advantages: 32gb Internal Memory, Nice Looking, Full QWERTY Keyboard, 5 MP Camera
Disadvantages: A Little Bulky, Price, Small Processer Makes The Phone Slow
... Intro
Being the previous owner of a Sony Ericsson w850 for over 2 years, I decided that it was time for a mobile phone upgrade. I had a few different phones in mind, the Apple iPhone, Nokia N97, Nokia 5800 Xpress Music and the HTC Touch Pro, in the end I chose to buy the new Nokia N-Series phone. It was a clear choice over the iPhone because of the price, also you do not have to buy the phone AND pay a monthly contract fee with the N97.
Buying The Phone
After choosing the phone I decided that I wanted to switch to contract instead of pay as you go. At the time the phone was only available on the Vodafone and Orange networks, but I believe that you can get it on most major networks now. I had previously been with Orange and wasn't too impressed with their service, so I chose Vodafone, they also had better deals for the N97...
