Nokia E90 Communicator

...Having recently reviewed the Nokia N810 internet tablet and discovered it is little more than an executive toy, I approached the E90 without any expectations. I'm glad to say that so far I have not found any unusual missing features. Yes unlike the N810 this device actually has a phone. And that's not all, there are even some productivity applications in the form of a simple word processor and spreadsheet. From the outside the phone appears to be rather large by modern standards, with a standard keypad and a function panel above it. There's a power switch at the top right. There are two buttons on the right side of the device, one activates the instant sound recorder function (and I suspect voice dialling as well), while the other is used to take pictures when in camera mode. Strangely this button doesn't automatically activate...

...Ive worked for a telecoms company for the last 5 years and the Nokia E90 communicator is the phone that everyone is talking about. The Communicator is the latest addition by Nokia based primarily for executive use, basically another business phone with lots of features thats most people will never use. I first got my hands on this phone last week and its still as big and bulky as you expect the communicator series to be, even in its closed position you would struggle to put this phone in your pocket! Well i say brief, its the sheer size of the handset. Its huge. Yes it fits in your pocket, just about, its uncomfy in your jeans but it gets in there ! ...as a owner and user of the nokia n97 i can say i am overall very happy with the improvements that nokia have made on previous models i.e N96 and N95. Lets face it all of us who went from owning an N95 to what nokia seem to believe was a better model (N96) were extremely dissapointed as although looking good on paper the N96 failed to meet the standards of its pre- deccesor but i am glad to say nokia have redeemed themselves on the launch of the N97. There have been many improvements made on previous models i.e the processor is alot faster and the slow transitions between menus has been completely iradicated due to the massive 32Gb memory which can still be increased to a huge 48GB by the handy memory slot tucked away under the rear cover of the phone. Another improvement on previous models is the slider mechanism after a few minor issues...
