This would appear to give 25% extra battery life, but in fact extra optimisations in the OS (and possibly the use of demand paging) mean that the real world increase is closer to 50%. Although this isn't exactly capacious, the use of the BL-6F does mean that very few people will exhaust the N95 8GB's battery in a day, even if they try quite hard. Allegedly as a result of the redesign, the old physical shutter in front of the camera lens has been replaced by a simple recess, with the camera now activated with a long press of the shutter button. It's not obvious to me why the deeper rear has forced this change, since the original N95 camera cluster was already proud of the main battery case, but then I wasn't privy to Nokia's design team and their hardware...

...I have had one of these beauties for just over a week now and I have to say I am very pleased with it. After negotiating a free upgrade with Vodafone to replace my N73 (another excellent phone) I was eager to try out the N95 8gb and it's many features and so far, I have not been disappointed. I have always preferred Nokia ever since I had a 3210 many years ago, and this certainly continues the trend of Nokia handsets I have been very satisfied with. For some reason the handset supplied by Vodafone did not have the 'rotate screen' function (the screen will automatically shift from portrait to landscape depending on which way you hold the handset - nice feature once you get used to it) enabled but this was easily fixed by updating the firmware (easily done). The wi-fi function worked fine when I tested it in a Wetherspoons Pub...

My Nokia N95 8GB

Advantages: Simple to use, with lots of functions.
Disadvantages: Cant see the screen outside

...I have had my Nokia N95 8GB for about a month now, it has taken me a long time to choose a phone that I would enjoy using. After seeing this phone on display, my choice was made instantly. I've always ended up back with Nokia model because they are simple to use, and even with the all the programmes this phone offers, the navigation is very straightforward, and quick. One thing that has so far annoyed me, is if you dont close an application by selection Options > Exit, if leaves a symbol on the application to say it's open still, if this bothers you, then you have to go into it, to exit it... Keypad and messaging: Maybe I'm just not used to my new keypad yet, but sometimes I find it a bit too small to use, and I press the wrong keys. When you are outside it is nearly impossible to see what you are writing...

...I was offered the Nokia N95 8GB as an upgrade from my old phone, the Samsung D900. I had owned a Nokia N70 in the past and found it to be very slow so was initially reluctant to accept this N95. However, the N95 does not seem to share any of the failings of the N70. It is quick and very user friendly, and is really packed full of exciting features. The 5MP camera really does the job, and produces better quality photographs than my 7MP digital camera. The 8GB of memory are really useful, I now have no need for a camera or an MP3 player as the N95 has replaced them. I was pleasantly surprised by the speakers on the phone, the quality and volume are better than expected. There a very few things I can complain about regarding this phone. The menu is a bit unconventional, so sometimes forget where certain applications are stored...

I bought my N95 8GB this year and I am very contented with it. It has a two-way slide that hides the keypad and the music/video player control on the other end, a large screen, GPS, N gage gaming connectivity, video and music player, and a 5 MP camera. It can also record voice/music and video. This 3G phones includes wifi connectivity and can easily connect to wi-fi hot spots. The only disadvantage I have experienced was its size. it is a little bit bulky, but with all the features packed in, you don't need to bring your mp3/mp4 players and digital camera, so that even up the disadvantage in size. ...Ive been using my nokia N95 for about a month now and i must say its a really good phone theres so much to do with it. The 5 megapixel camera is amazing very clear pictures and videos it is competing against your normal digital camera. The massive 8gb internal memory allows you to save lots of music, pictures and videos also full length films. The phone slides both ways clicking into place very nicely, one side gives your number keypad slide it the other way and it gives you play , stop , rewind and fast forward for when you are watching your videos. When you hold the phone on its side the menu screen turns aswell wich gives you a bigger better pictire for veiwing pictures or videos. The only thing thats annoying is the satelite navigation system its pretty poor, to be quite honest it does not work. Even one of the staff at 3g told me...

...This phone was an upgrade from a Nokia N93 that had slowly become damaged through wear and tear. On receiving the N95 8gb I was impressed by its features and liked the novelty of having a pre-loaded film, (Spiderman 3). It is a solidly designed phone, easy to handle and although a little chunkier than some counterparts it is not too large or heavy that it becomes cumbersome. It has a nice sleek finish and the buttons are well designed for ease-of-use. Durability is good, although I have had to have it replaced once as the back became seperated after an accident - it looked as if it was pulling away one side and although it seemed as if it should just "snap back" into place, it wouldn't. A replacement was brought to my home from Vodafone within 48 hours so I was not deterred by this. The replacement phone has taken a few knocks...

Nokia N95 8GB - its getting better

...Ive had my Nokia N95 8GB for a month now and before this I had the original Nokia N95 for a year, both on the Vodafone network. The N95 8GB has a slightly larger screen than the N95, 4GB more memory, the ability to play NGage games and updated menu graphics, although I prefered the older graphics. The phone is a 2 way slide phone and the slide function is good and easily clicks into place. The older N95 when slid in the media button direction used to go to another menu which was annoying but Nokia seem to have sorted that as now it just unlocks the phone and stays on the main menu. The buttons are large and easy to press and the directional navigator is a good size for average sized hands. Navigating around the phone is quite easy once you work out which button is the menu button, you just use the navigation button...

...Originally received the N95 free on upgrade until it broke and I returned it. I was sent a N95 8GB which was far better. The camera lost its lens cap (a shame) but its larger battery lasted more than a day, the original often ran out in less than a day. I still charge it every day but on one charge it lasts the day and can watch 2 full length films on the large clear and bright LCD screen. The Wi-Fi works well as does the GPS, though not as quick as modern GPS's. The mobile reception is far better than my previous 2 Sony's, the sound is also clear and loud. The camera and flash are good for a phone but the video struggles in poor light (as many others do) and it is useful to have the facility to connect the phone to a TV to show video and pictures. I have had the phone for nearly 3 months and have had no problems. My only gripe really is...
