A romantic whodunnit from Nora Roberts
Advantages: An absorbing read
Disadvantages: A little predictable
... ANGELS FALL
NORA ROBERTS
In this book - "Angels Fall" - Nora Roberts mixes mystery and romance.
This book, published in 2006, contains three main subplots in the story -- a murder mystery, Reece's romance with Brody, and Reece's struggle to gain back normality.
Ms Roberts manages to incorporate the three aspects together resulting into and novel.
The story starts with the heroine, cook Reece Gilmore, as her car has broken down in Angel's Fist, Wyoming.
Reece decides decides to stay in the little town for a day - but that day turns into months as she takes a a job as a cook in the local diner, rents the apartment upstairs and settles into town life at Angel's Fist.
It is then, through dreams and flashbacks from Reece, that e learn that she hasbeen the victim of a viscious and brutal crime in...

FREE DVDs
Advantages: Free trial, large choice, post included, new realeases
Disadvantages: see review
...I like movies and I like freebies, so when you get offered both in one swoop you?re bound to accept! I used my two week free trial with this company and remained with them for a couple of monthsbefore moving on to try many other companies free trials (and winning a new DVD player on Tesco DVD rental site on their free trial offer). I then had an email from DVDs 365 asking me to go back, and offering me a free DVD if I did so. I had just left Tesco (with my new DVD player) so I chose to go back with them.
∆◊◊ THE SERVICE THEY OFFER ∆◊◊
Basically it?s like going to a video shop and hiring films on DVD, except you don?t pay for each film you chose ? rather a monthly fee for which you can watch as many movies as you can fit in, for us this is usually around 8 a month (2 a week usually weekends...

Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54
Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.
...At first I wasn't convinced by up-scaling DVD player technology but was persuaded after reading an article in "What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision" magazine. Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied.
On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. All the components such as cables, remote and manuals were well presented in their own protective plastic bags, to keep them protected. The player...

Not the best vision Nora Roberts ever had!
Advantages: An easy read
Disadvantages: Very predictable and nothing happens!
...I was very excited to take a brand new copy of this book home from the library having had my name down for a good few weeks. But it didn't take many pages for me to realise that the book was a little disappointing to say the least.
Vision in White is the first in Nora Roberts' new series, known collectively as The Bride Quartet, set around a wedding planning business which is run by four friends who spent much of their time in childhood playing at weddings. Now, all grown up, one of them is a photographer, one a cook, one a florist and one a brilliant administrator who owns a fabulous house. How convenient!
Synopsis: Mackenzie (Mac) Elliott discovered in childhood that she could capture moments of happiness using a camera, given to her by her absent and uncaring father. She is the product of a broken marriage, both parents having...

The archeological town of Nora, South Sardinia
Advantages: archeological site, culture, sunny beach, shops, nice food
Disadvantages: none
...Nora is a beautiful small touristic village belonging to the district of Pula (Cagliari, South Sardinia) and it's famous mainly for its Punic-Roman ruins. But archeological finds like the "Temple of Tanit", ceramics and the ruins of a nuraghe on the outskirts, just prove that Nora was already inhabited in the era of the nuraghi, long before the Phoenicians and the Romans.
----------------------How to get there----------------------------------------------
From Cagliari you must follow the Sulcitana road (S.S 195) towards Pula, enter the city of Pula (30 km away from Cagliari) and then follow the road signals to Nora, which is is just at the end of a long tree-lined road.
-----------------------Archeological site--------------------------------------------
In the archeological area, which is one of the most important of the whole...

Bloody Nora...
Advantages: It's SOooo healthy
Disadvantages: Supermakets put it on the top shelf...no idea why, they just do.
...an appropriate size for a single serving, and the bottles for having a screw-top, should you want to save some for later. Expect to pay about 55p for a can. £1.00 for a bottle.
What?s more, you can jazz it up with lime or lemon juice, Worcester Sauce, salt, pepper, Tabasco, Encona. All that good stuff, to liven up the taste, should you so desire.
And another thing: It?s quite filling, so you can have it instead of a meal if you?re intent on getting skinny.
And finally?if you put a good slug of that Worcester Sauce in a glass, along with a similar amount of lime juice and a dash of pepper sauce, then top the glass up with V8, before stirring in a decent shot of chilled Absolut, you have something like the perfect Bloody Mary, except it?s not a Bloody Mary at all?it?s called a Bloody Nora!
You didn?t really think I was going to give up...

I fell under the spell of this book...does that make me an angel?
Advantages: Compelling, lots of twists and turns, cleverly written so the ending was a surprise
Disadvantages: The awful cover is very misleading!
...There's a lot to be said for the old adage of not judging a book by its cover. Truth be told, I never would have chosen this if that was the only reason. To me it looks like just another sappy romance novel, which I would never in a million years consider reading. But my local library has practically a shelf full of Nora Roberts books and, remembering that a friend of mine thought they were pretty good, decided to pick one out in an attempt to be more open-minded and less of a book snob!
Angels Fall follows chef Reece Gilmore, sole survivor of a brutal massacre at work, as she moves out west from Boston to start a new life away from the bad memories of home. Although a year has passed since the incident, she is still, understandably, more than little messed up from being shot and left to die as 12 of her good friends did that night...

The Moment, The Sound, The Fury
Advantages: The final three tracks of the album are fantastic.
Disadvantages: The first even tracks are fairly average.
...'Save Yourself' is the second studio album from the New Jersey hardcore punk band that is NORA. This is hardly the hardcore punk album of the century, it is however a fairly decent album of hugely hard hitting hardcore music; for most of this album nothing particularly special is offered by the band here, the music is very heavy however and always the vocals pack a powerful punch. The guitar work also is strong here, the riffs are incredibly heavy, and the music of NORA will most definitely have you fist pumping in the air.
Ten tracks are present here, 36 minutes of music are offered up by the band and for the most part the exact same hardcore punk formula is followed. NORA is not the most innovative hardcore punk band in the world, the music is pretty impressive however and something a little different is most definitely provided...

The Second Great book in the Quinn brothers quartet
Advantages: This is a fast read and very enjoyable.
Disadvantages: Subject manor could be disturbing
...Nora Roberts is a prolific writer with almost two hundred novels under her belt.
She was born Eleanor Marie Robertson on October 10, 1950 in Silver Spring, Maryland, USA. Her writing began during a blizzard in February, 1979 while housebound with her two small boys. She claims that with three feet of snow, a dwindling supply of chocolate, and no nurswery for the children she had little else to do.
The novels came thick and fast and by1996 she passed the hundred-novel mark.
"Rising Tides" is the second book in the Chesapeake Bay Quartet.
These books tell of the lives and loves of four brothers on the shores of Chesapeake Bay - the four titles are "Sea Swept", "Rising Tides", "Inner Harbor"and "Chesapeake Blue."
Should you read "Sea Swept" first or does "Rising Tides" stand alone?
I would definatly advise you to read...
