... For Starters Jane Norman to me as a teenager was always slightly too expensive and if you bought anything in there, you used the bag for your PE kit for at least a few weeks!! Now i'm older and earning, I realise that Jane Norman isn't drop dead designer, and is actually pretty affordable, and always up to date on trend. So as you can imagine, on this discovery I started popping in there every time I pass. You can actually commonly spot Jane Norman in most shopping centres so they are not easy to avoid. Who's it for This is definately a younger design shop even the music played inside is mostly aimed at the 20 - 30 age. Jane Norman - Certainly not a plain jane

Advantages: Has some nice items, prices are reasonable enough
Disadvantages: Not a lot of variety

I used my two week free trial with this company and remained with them for a couple of monthsbefore moving on to try many other companies free trials (and winning a new DVD player on Tesco DVD rental site on their free trial offer). Norman strikes again!

Advantages: For everyone aged 4-100!
Disadvantages: If he is not your cup of tea I suppose he could be irritating!

Surprising Picture Quality - Panasonic DVD-S54

Advantages: Incredible picture quality when compared to my old non-upscaling player with a scart lead
Disadvantages: Sometimes disc drive can be really noisy when DVD's initially load.

...At first I wasn't convinced by up-scaling DVD player technology but was persuaded after reading an article in "What Hi-Fi? Sound and Vision" magazine. Unable to afford a Blu-Ray player my sister and I bought the Panasonic DVD-S54 to match our parents brand new Panasonic TX-32LZD80 LCD television as their Christmas 2008 present. Admittedly it was a slightly selfish purchase as we both live at home and wanted to watch DVDs on the big new TV ourselves! We bought the player from the electrical retailer Comet for about £100 just before Christmas so there were no discounts applied. On Christmas day when opened we found a relatively small box tightly packed with the player in polystyrene packaging. Advantages: Stylish, colourful fashion, good in store staff.

...Ok, a break down of Jane Norman as a store: Advantages: Some of the clothes in Jane Norman are absolutely lovely! Especially the summer dresses that they do there! I personally love the colours that they use in their range as well, as it's usually all very season appropriate. Their products are always fashionable and useful for smart wear or just to create an attractive wardrobe. As trivial as it is, the iconic "Jane Norman" bag that you get to carry around after a purchase is also a big plus! Disadvantages: Despite what some people say, I do think that some items of Jane Norman clothing and accessories are seriously over-priced, but maybe that's just coming from me as a student! I just think that £35 for a plain jumper is a little excessive. Also I agree with a point that a lot of other customers appear to have picked up on...

Jane Norman - Definately Worth a Visit!

Advantages: Gorgeous clothes, fashionable, unique.
Disadvantages: Sometimes overpriced, some of the fabrics tend to go bobbly, bad customer service.

...This is my favourite highstreet clothes shop. Practically all of my jumpers are Jane Norman. The reason for this is that they always look better quality than other highstreet brands and their designs are often unique. I love 'off the shoulder' style tops and girly styles, and Jane Norman definately caters for this. I have to say however that some of the fabrics used for their sweaters/jumpers tend to go bobbly. My sister took a jumper back to Jane Norman complaining that this had happened to her jumper after washing just two times. It looked as though the fabric had 'worn' on the arms. The customer service however was poor, the shop attendant simply said that Jane Norman fabrics do tend to wear in this way. But they offered no exchange or refund. Personally I've only had this problem with one of my jumpers and this was minor...

Jane norman

Advantages: good quality clothes suitable for going out smart

...I like jane norman and think it of reasonable quality. The stores are quite small and can get really busy. you can get pushed around a bit in there. The clothes and accessories are quite expensive allthough are not quite as expensive as topshop and that sort. i have never had to take anything back or swap it so i suppose that says something for itself. The staff are reasonably freindly but are not extremely helpful. i personally find that the clothes in jane norman are meant for extremelly skinny people and that sometimes puts me off going in there. i personally think the clothes are to smart and going outy instead of casual and i think they could benefit from having more casual clothes there. the ques are not too big but sometimes as the shops are rather small can be a bit akward to get around when looking for your clothes....

The Norman Conquests

...Alan Ayckbourn is probably one of the greatest comedic playwrights of his generation. His plays are extremely well-executed looks at the frailties and foibles of everyday life and of "ordinary" people. The Norman Conquests (staring Tom Conti as Norman) was made by Thames Television. It is a series of individual plays that cover the weekend of a weekend at a house in the country. The play are entitled Table Manners, Living Together, and Round and Round the Table. The audience is allowed to eavesdrop on a series of happenings and events that all involve the characters who are living at or staying at the house over the weekend. The events start at about 5.30 on the Saturday afternoon and continue through until a little after 9 on Monday morning. Each play is complete of itself, but you would miss the joy of watching everything...
