...The Moss Valley lies in north-east Derbyshire just a few miles to the south-east of Sheffield. The Valley follows the course of the Moss Brook, one of the cleanest Rivers in the area. It is quite a wide Valley, surrounded by the large urban areas of Sheffield and Chesterfield. The Valley covers an area of approximately 4 square miles that has been created by the Moss Brook and its tributaries. The Moss Brook rises in the west of the Valley and flows into the River Rother at its most southerly corner. This Valley was designated as a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) during the 1980's and is now in the hands of English Nature. ...George Khan leaves his native Pakistan, settles in the north of England just before the Second World War and marries an English woman, Ella. A birdseye view and fantastic experience

Advantages: An Excellent day out for all the family and very educational too

My partner and I have been planning our holidays since the beginning of the year, the first of which was a trip to Glenfinnan on the west coast of Scotland. This review is about the absolutely fantastic Falconry centre we just happened to visit on the way to our final destination. How we got there Our trip was to take us on the A96 through the village of Huntly on the East coast of Scotland which is approximately 45 minutes from our home in Aberdeen and onto the road to dufftown. The falconry centre is sign posted from the main road and very easy to find although you do need to keep an eye out for the sign indicating where you need to turn off when on the Dufftown road, otherwise you'll be passed it before you know it. About a mile along a single track road you end up at the falconry...

EAST IS EAST

Advantages: Funny, good direction, excellent cast, good story
Disadvantages: Some may find some scenes disturbing

...but the brilliant cast manage to pull off some hilarious scenes that will make you laugh-out-loud. Most successful British films follow one of two "templates"; set up north on terraced streets or set in the Eastend of London. East is East and the Full Monty follow that first "template" and Lock stock, Gangster no.1 and Circus follow that second "template". The story unfolds quite slowly in East is East and when its finished you think "what actually happened in the film." Well I got that thought. Whether it was because of the ending has an unfinished feel to it or because nothing did actually happen I felt that nothing really happened in East is East. ...Ridgeway Village is a very beautiful, picturesque little Village that lies in North East Derbyshire in the Moss Valley. This is a place that I visit often and I am fortunate to live near enough to walk there. Something that I do fairly frequently when the weather is fine and I fancy some fresh air. At first glance you could be fooled into thinking that there is not a great deal here to see and do. The majority of the dwellings in Ridgeway lie at the side of its only Road, the B6388, known here as High Street. Instead of simply driving through however I would strongly suggest that you park up and explore the Village because this is an area steeped in History. I had seen the book for sale in Waterstones but thought I would borrow it from my local library. There was a long waiting list (obviously others wanted to read a book with a local connection) After a wait of 3 weeks I was very keen to start reading! The cover of the book with its cartoon family suggests that this is a humorous book. To confirm this there is a quote from Jenny Colgan saying that she howled with laughter at every page. This sounded like my kind of light read. However this book was not what I had been expecting. There is a lot of humour but it is also a very poignant and moving book.
