Abandoned mountains in Norway

Advantages: Outstanding adventure in abandoned nature
Disadvantages: none!

...In summer 2006 i visited Norway with my car. We went to the northest point and therefore i can write a few lines about nice alps - not alps from central europe but alps from Norway. These are close to biggest city above the polar circle called Tromso. As I said it is behind polar circle and therefore in summer the sun there never goes down - there is no sunset for months. This makes climbing mountains verz interesting there because you dont need to hurry to be down before sunset:) We have driven to the village that is on the seaside in front of alps and there i bought a map. It was weird map because there were mountains on it without any path longer than 3km so i decided that we have to go without any road. The highest mountain is 1833 meters high and i have chosen Daltingen - mountain that was close to seaside and has more than...

The Pro's Of Pro Namel

Advantages: Helps to strengthen tooth enamel. Improves general oral health.
Disadvantages: Steep pricetag. Potentially leaky cap.

...After recently visiting the dreaded dentist, I was informed that I had a major problem with acid erosion on the enamel of my teeth, which means basically that my teeth are being worn away at a worrying rate. As a result, when reading a magazine, which my girlfriend had bought, I noticed an advert for a new toothpaste from Sensodyne designed to combat acid erosion. That toothpaste was called Sensodyne Pro Namel. Firstly, a touch of sciency healthy stuff: - Acid erosion is now a problem affecting more and more people here in Britain. With more fizzy drinks being consumed, the problem is only going to get worse, and even stuff like acidic fruit (oranges, lemons etc) can cause a problem, as can anything with citric acid as a preservative in. Even brushing your teeth to vigorously can cause them to wear away at an increased rate. One...

Ideal Topos?

Advantages: Influential, interesting from a range of perspectives
Disadvantages: Not an easy read, what is it?

...I think most people are familiar with the term utopia, and its use to describe "any real or imaginary state or place believed to be ideal, perfect, excellent" (Chambers dictionary). Probably far fewer are familiar with Sir Thomas More's tract of 1516, which first coined the term - which is a shame, because the society described therein is by no means obviously 'utopian' in the modern sense - our usage has come a long way from the original sense. The very etymology of the word 'utopia' is fraught with ambiguity. It's derived from the Greek 'topos' [place], but the prefix 'u' could be a contraction of either 'eu-' [good] or 'ou-' [no] - thus a utopia is either 'good place' or 'no place' (maybe both). The contemporary usage seems to focus on the former, but it's not obvious that More's Utopia was wholly ideal. Further a number of other...

Review - The HTC Touch Pro 2

Advantages: well designed, good touchscreen, good QWERTY keypad, improved sofware, good widescreen display
Disadvantages: Expensive, no spec bump, no flash module, heavy

... HTC Touch Pro 2 It wasn't all too long ago that I was eagerly awaiting the arrival of HTC's first Touch Pro handset, but when I did get my hands on it I was a little disappointed. I obviously wasn't the only one as I now have in my hand the new version, the HTC Touch Pro2. Even with its improved software and a very nicely designed tilt screen, I still needed to be convinced this was a serious alternative to competitive Smartphone's like the iPhone 3GS, Nokia N97 and the host of available BlackBerry's. Design and Features There is no denying that the new Pro2 is a very visually appealing handset, the 3.6 inch touchscreen allows for a 480x800 widescreen VGA resolution, using a customised version of the Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.1 OS. Although it is very 'business' like in appearance, its metal and black...

Pro relief? No relief

Advantages: None
Disadvantages: Stabbing pains in teeth, worsening sensitivity

...I am a Bzzagent and I'm reviewing the toothpaste distributed in their latest campaign. I was sent a full sized sample of Colgate Sensitive Pro Relief, and some small samples to give out to friends and family. What does this toothpaste do? In a nutshell it's supposed to help against sensitivity by blocking tubules which, when you see the microscopic drawing, look like little holes in the tooth along the gum line. 'The open tubules are a pathway to sensitive pain' according to Colgate, and the toothpaste provides occlusion of dentine tubules. Using the Toothpaste You use the toothpaste as you would any other, brushing twice a day, paying particular attention to the gum line. You can also dab a small amount on any particularly sensitive areas close to the gum, using a small amount place on the finger tip and massaging...

belkin Pro

Advantages: no
Disadvantages: ok

...the I needed to go away and get a VGA cable to hook it up and that's what I did. Since I have alot of things around my TV (lots of computers things and electricity) I didnt want any sort of crosstalk (disturbance on the cable from other electrical devices- its quite rare now but not unheard of) I made sure that i got a double shielded wire, the best one of these that i could find was the Belkin PRO series. This basically means that it has 2x the amount of protective sheath around the cable so that nothing can get through and distort the signal. Belkin are one of the leaders in computer products, they make everything from routers to cables and I have a few of their products and they have never gone wrong for me, so I trust them and their products. I went to my local computer shop and got this cable for the very reasonable price of £3...

Babyliss Pro 230 Straightener - fantastic pair of straighteners!

Advantages: Easy to use, heat up quickly, heat mat, three heat settings
Disadvantages: Can't think of any really!

...I had had my old Remington straighteners for a couple of years, so the other day I decided it was time for new ones. I bought these Babyliss Pro 230 Straighteners for £36.39 (half price in Argos). The straighteners come with a little bag with a divider in the middle to keep the cord and plug away from the hot straighteners when you pack them away. It also comes with a heat mat which is ideal for resting your straighteners on in case you damage something. The four hair dividing clips are handy too! The straighteners are so easy to use. There are three heat settings, I use the hottest as my hair is quite thick. The straighteners heat up really quickly, approx 30 seconds. My hair is quite short in areas and I find it easy to use on shorter hair as well as the longer bits. I wish I had invested in a new pair of straighteners...

Review of BaByliss 2088 U PRO 230 Elegance

Pro Elegance - Pretty but not the best

Advantages: Does straighten hair pretty well
Disadvantages: Cheap feel, heat functions dodgy, quite pricey for what you get!!

...I was bought these straighteners after my last pair literally blew up!! I have naturally curly hair so life without straighteners is just unimaginable!! They look very stylish and the colour makes them look just like the description Pro Elegance, but they feel very plastic like when you pick them up and they are very light (one feature that is useful when you have to spend an hour with your hands above your head so to speak). They come complete with a heat protective mat, case and hair clips again all in the bronze colour, these are useful tools. They have three different heat settings but the dots rubbed off after a few uses so I now have no idea which is which so I often end up burning my hair as I accidently put it on the wrong setting, mmm whats that smell!!!! They have a reasonable cable length which most don...

Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000 an excellent buy

Advantages: Produces a really good quality picture
Disadvantages: Expensive and sometimes struggles in low light conditions

...The Logitech Quickcam Pro 9000 is an excellent webcam that produces a really crisp and clear picture at the other end. The camera is fairly expensive but worth the cost. - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -Whats in the box- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - The webcam An instillation CD Instruction manual When your ready to install the software, dont do it from the CD, as several other reviews have commented on problems with the CD, instead go to the logitech website and download it from there. If you want all the features then dont plug the webcam in until the software tells you to. The instruction manual is not really needed, as operation of the webcam is so easy. The webcams image quality is really good in conversation with skype according to my friend in China. The picture...

Peavey Pro 12

Advantages: Great sounding, medium size
Disadvantages: N/A

...When I was investigating which PA speakers to invest in, Peavey were the ones that everyone I know seemed to recommend. I tried out a few pairs (which I will review on here in time) but these are the ones I bought so I will start with these. The Pro-12 is from Peavey's 'Messenger Pro' range of speakers and, as speakers go, they are pretty good to look at. They are not massive and, according to the manual, they are 22.6" high, 16.3" wide and 14" deep. I won't argue with that. They are fairly easy to carry as they have well placed and comfortable handles on both sides of the speaker unit. I wouldn't like to carry them very far as they are quite heavy. Its quite easy to get them mounted onto speakers stands which is something that I think is very very important. The speaker unit is covered in the black carpet material that seems to be...
