Plot
William runs a small bookshop in the fashionable area of Notting Hill but it isn't exactly doing very well. He's struggling to cope with being divorced and shares his house with Spike who is very eccentric. One day, Anna, a big American movie star walks into his shop and the two hit it off. Later, William runs into Anna again but awkwardly spills orange juice all over her, resulting in him taking her back to his house so that she can freshen up. From here, the pair realise that they quite like each other but also how complicated things could be with them being from two completely different worlds. Can they figure something out in order to be able to be together?

...Despite it?s huge success , the film Notting Hill had never appealed to me . I don?t know if was because of the fact that I was only about ten or eleven when the film came out , and so because of the ?cover? of the DVD , as a child , I instantly thought ?that looks boring? , and so I had always had that opinion of the film , despite the saying ? Never Judge A Book (or in this case , a film) by it?s cover).
However , many years later , I am sat in a media studies lesson in college, when the teacher tells the class that we are going to be watching clips from movies and then analysing the setting , speech , lighting , etc. The first film to come on was Notting Hill. Love in Notting Hill

...Have you ever sat at work daydreaming that one day Brad Pitt (feel free to delete/add name as appropriate) would walk in , see you an instantly fall in love and that you would marry and live happily ever after? Well that's exactly what happened to Hugh Grant or should I say, William Thacker in this movie Notting Hill.
William is a book store owner in a cute little part of Notting Hill. Not many people visit his store so when Julie Roberts wanders in one day he thinks all his Christmases have come at once. Julie plays the part of Anna Scott, a multi award winning actress and Superstar (much like Julie Roberts herself). At first she does not see the cute side of William.
