Advantages: Near to Heathrow. Hoppa bus. Helpful staff. Pool. Good restaurant. Adequate room.
Disadvantages: Swimming pool access in reception.
...I stayed at the Novotel Heathrow Airport in September 2010 for one night, prior to flying off to Cape Town. The reason I chose this hotel was that it was close to Heathrow and that the price was right.....just £55 on Lastminute.com - although I note at the moment that it is now listed as being £98. Because I literally just wanted a hotel that was clean, inexpensive and near to the airport...

Another day, Another Novotel
Advantages: It provided everything we needed including good food and meeting room
Disadvantages: My room was distinctly whiffy
...(three) and where the switch for the reading light is. On the other hand, it can be a bit disconcerting to wake up and think you?re in Amsterdam when you?re actually in Paris. This is what happened to me on my recent visit to the Novotel Paris CDG Terminal.
