Advantages: One or Two Good Songs! Disadvantages: Boring , Weak Tracks
...show the X Factor in December 2007.
Leon Jackson was born on December 30th 1988 in Whitburn , Scotland. He is an only child and was brought up by his mother, as his father left his mother when he was two years old. Sadly his father died of a severe case of pneumonia in 2005.
According to Leon , he only started singing a few months before his first X Factor audition , when his friends forced him to take part in a Karaoke competition.
Leon's style of music comes under the pop , adult contemporary and jazz genres.
Right Now is the debut album from Leon. The CD was released in the United Kingdom on October 20th 2008. There are thirteen tracks on the album , the thirteenth track being a bonus track : When You Believe.
* Don't Call This Love *
This is the first single to be released off the album. It doesn't start off brilliantly...
...I've always had a soft-spot for Westlife. Now , I would never have called them my favourite band in the world , yet there is something that I do find quite 'sweet' about them , and you have to admit , they do have some of the best songs going!
Believe it or not , What About Now is the 27th (!!!) single from Westlife and is taken off their 10th (!!) album Where We Are. The single was released in the United Kingdom on October 23rd 2009 and the digital download version is available to buy from Amazon for £0.73 which I think is excellent value for money. What About Now , is a cover of American rockband Daughtry.
I really like this song and think that it was a great song to have as their 'comeback' single. I love how they have turned the rock song into a beautiful ballad , just like Leona Lewis did with Snow Patrol's Run.
Their...
Advantages: Makes an ok coaster? Disadvantages: Boring cover art and horrible songs
... Who Is He?
Leon Jackson is a 19 year old Scottish singer. He won the fourth series of the television talent show 'The X Factor' (2007). His debut single 'When You Believe' was the UK Christmas number 1 for 2007. His debut album 'Right Now' was released in October 2008, ten months later. Before his singing career he was a retail sales assistant for a few years. He started singing in 2007 when some friends entered him into a karaoke competition, that he won. He says singing is the only thing that makes him happy.
Leon Jackson is a fan of contemporary jazz, his influences are Michael Buble and Jamie Cullum. He auditioned for 'The X Factor' in Glasgow. He got through the entire competition and was voted the winner on 15th December 2007. His prize was a £1 million recording contract with Syco Music/Sony BMG. His mentor in...
Advantages: Celebs, gossip, photos Disadvantages: Not high standard
...The time is NOWNow magazine is a celebrity gossip magazine. It costs £1.30 per week.
Now is my guilty coffee break pleasure. From looking at the front cover you will see that the magazine is always glossy and shiny and features about 6 or 7 celebrities all the front, all with various headline grabbing captions, teasing you into wanting to read more and thus having to buy the magazine. At £1.30 it is not as costly as some other gossip magazines, such as OK or Hello but it is a lot thinner and not as good in my opinion but if you're after a bit of gossip and a bit of fashion, then this is the magazine for you!
The first 20 pages or so feature the stories that are alluded to on the front page. These are accompanied by lots of glossy photos and about half a page of text telling you about the story. The photos are of quite a good...

Review of Now magazine
Advantages: Superb acting; low key realism; Lack of prejudice Disadvantages: None (unless you hate reading subtitles)
...Every now and then a movie will sneak up and catch you by surprise. So it was for me with Paradise Now, a film I knew nothing about, other than a website blurb about two potential suicide bombers.
Co-written and directed by Hany Abu-Assad this is a story set within the West bank in Palestine, with two friends, Said and Khaled, being offered their chance of martyrdom (hence 'Paradise Now') by carrying out a suicide mission in Tel Aviv.
Both the men react to the invitation with a mixture of relief, confusion and elation, though it is Khaled who seems the happiest to grab the chance. Said is more thoughtful, altogether darker, about the whole affair.
But they are both ready, and then readied after a blackly comic filming of their martyr speeches, as they have their hair shaved short, and bears shaved off, to make them look more...

Review of Paradise Now (DVD)
Advantages: Great lyrics, beautiful voice, great album Disadvantages: None what so ever
...comparison to the other judges at the time was somewhat lacking. But Leon proved that he had what it takes to become the winner and have the X-factor and in doing so he beat rival Rhydian Roberts the operatic singer from Wales, whom again I thought was extremely talented.
So after more than a year in which Leon won the X-Factor and got his £1million contract his debut album Right Now was automatically added to my basket whilst doing my weekly shopping. The airwaves have been full of Leona Lewis and her success is actually rather impressive, especially as she has managed to do so well in America. Now as the furore has died down a little, the album is released and I have to say it wasn't quite what I was expecting. Leon had stated on numerous occasions on the X-factor that he loved Jazz and that his idol is Michael Buble (with whom Leon has...
Advantages: Highly varied Disadvantages: Some experiments fail
..."See Clear Now" came as the third (/fourth) album by Grime artist, Wiley. This one acted as his breakthrough piece as it has him finally standing in at a level where he is recognised in the mainstream as Dizzee Rascal did before him. Using Dizzee's tactics at doing so, he has moved away from te darker Grime music (which is the UK equivalent to America's Rap) as he moves into proper songs, and with this he does both this Pop and Electronica to boost his career, working off the hype of "Wearing My Rolex". I came out at the end of 2008.
1. "Ryder Intro"
2. "Wearing My Rolex"
Initially, this track was a banger of a tune, long before it had a vdeo, this one was tearing up clubs with its unique take on the Bassline fad, and took it in a new direction by going back to the golden era of House. As I say, it was strong at first, but gets...

...I don't know why, but everytime I find myself waiting at my local underground station for a tube into the City, I always buy a copy of the NOW magazine from the stand nearby....I think, 'shall I get a newspaper and get up-to-date with current affairs and whats happening in the world, or shall I buy something that will keep me entertained?'....well...after thinking for about 30 seconds, I always settle for the NOW magazine.

Review of Now
Advantages: Feel-good film, interesting story Disadvantages: Not special, not deep or serious
...Germans can be weird at times, you know? Now and Then, which was on over here a few weeks back, incidentally the same weekend it was on UK terrestrial TV, is called Damals und Heute – i.e. Then and Now. It’s like when we say ”head over heels”, and they say “throat over head”. Strange but true. I saw Now and Then in the UK when it was first released. Then I bought the video, and the soundtrack. Then the book – although it was the German version from a bookshop in Vienna because extensive searching on my part revealed that there only seemed to be 3 copies of the English version ever published, and all of those in America. Needless to say, I liked the film.
** Story **
Now and Then is a film a lot of you won’t have heard of, I suspect. Aimed at around the 10-20 year old age group, (or...
