Numatic Henry, the Cleaner's Cleaner!

Numatic HVR 200 Henry

Advantages: Powerful, long cable, easy to use, good value

...I bought my Henry about a year ago. I am really happy with it! In fcat it is the best hoover I have ever used. The hoover is powerful and the wire is very long. This enables me to hoover my whole flat (which is not small) without unplugging it. It has a number of attachmenst which are really useful to get in all the nooks and crannys. It is suitable for cleaning all surfaces. I even hoover my tiles, wooden floors and my carpet. In the time that I have had the hoover I have only had to change the bag once, this is because it has such a large bag there is no need to all the time. The only down side to my Henry is that it does not fit in my cupboard, where as an up right one would. This is not the fault of my hoover though. It is so good I have told all my friends an family and they are all starting to use Henry rather thans...

...OK, a review about the Henry Numatic Vacuum cleaner. You may recognise this model as soon as you see it, because it is the one that has that smiley face, it also comes in four vibrant colours, red, green blue, and yellow. Now they have added another to the range - Pink. Actually this one is called Hetty, but is otherwise the same . The shape being cylindrical, on end, or stood up. it is not unlike a five Gallon oil drum, but it also has a handy rubber buffer around it, which avoids marking walls. ...This is my personal opinion on the rugged Numatic vacuum cleaner called Henry. You will recognise it as soon as you see it because it is the one with the smiley face. This model is available in four different colours, red, green, blue, and the less common yellow. The Numatic Henry is marketed as a barrel vacuum cleaner and is cylindrical, it stands upright, and floats on superb castors, it also has a rubber fender around it, so does not mark walls. It is very easy to move about. The first experimental models were built using old oil drums. Advantages: Powerful, manouverable, quiet, easy rewind, strong
Disadvantages: Expensive, not too keen on fluff

...OK, I admit it, I abuse my vacuum cleaners. Report me to the authorities if you like. I don't use vacuum cleaners to remove the odd bit of dust on my carpets, no, I expect them to suck up everything... guinea pig poo, sawdust, hay, rubble, soil, grit, dead leaves, cat and dog hair to name but a few. Basically, I expect the performance of a commercial cleaner for the price of a domestic one. I used to have an Electrolux Chic 1300 cylinder vacuum cleaner. Unfortunately it didn't like the abuse I gave it. It finally decided it had had enough when I used it to hoover up the rubble in my attic (before laying loft insulation). This vacuum cleaner cost about £70 and lasted 4 years. About the time I blew my Electrolux up, my mother in law bought a Henry as this had been recommended to her by her decorator who had one himself, using...

You will know it as soon as you see it as it has a smiley face, and comes in four colours, red green blue & yellow, well now they have added another to the range - PINK!!! Henry - the only man you need around the house

Advantages: good suction, good manoeuvrability, fair price, looks cute, reliable
Disadvantages: falls over, no on-board storage for tools, cost of replacing bags

...Henry is everything a woman could hope for in a "man"; he's sturdy, reliable, attractive and will be around for a long time. Every flat I ever rented was equipped with a Henry hoover and not once was I disappointed. He never broke down, rarely lost suction and was not a patch on other hoovers I've had experience with, so Henry is now my hoover of personal choice. Compared to upright hoovers, having control over the pressure on the carpet greatly increases performance. Henry is my best friend!

Advantages: An all round good performer, cheap and reliable.
Disadvantages: None - he's like a family member!

...Having stormed through a quick succession of 4 vacuum cleaners in as many years, I asked a friend (who also happened to be a cleaner) what she used at home. Well, it was like opening the floodgates. After running through what she categorised as rubbish (3 models of which I'd previously owned) she said that any self-respecting cleaner could only recommend the Henry Numatic. She'd had hers for about 6 years and it was still going strong. She used it both bagless and with the Numatic bags (which she bought on ebay!).
