Numatic Henry, the Cleaner's Cleaner!

Henry the cleaner . . .

Advantages: Suction is brilliant.
Disadvantages: Looks are a little industrial.

.... . . This review is on the very robust Henry Numatic model HVR 200. You will know it as soon as you see it as it has a smiley face, and comes in four colours, red green blue & yellow, well now they have added another to the range - PINK!!! Technically this one is called HETTY, but it is identical otherwise. The shape is cylindrical, but not laid down, it is upright, like an oil drum, and has a buffer ring surrounding it, which does not mark walls. It is mounted on castors, and so is easy to move about. As for the suction, I can only say it is brilliant, the cable is wound up neatly in it's own drum, all tools are there, the machine itself is light enough to be carried up the stairs, what more could you want in a cleaner? There is of course a down side, but not much of one, for instance it is not easy to vacuum the stairs as...

Henry vacuum cleaner

Advantages: Well made, reasonably priced, brilliant suction, quiet, good tools.
Disadvantages: Hose could stretch more, poor manual

...I've just bought a Henry after a long but fairly unhappy time with a Dyson DC01 (heavy, noisy, expensive, a nightmare to empty), and now I wish I'd bought the Henry in the first place. The suction is amazing - this is the first cleaner I've used where it's necessary to use the suction-reducing controls because it sticks too tightly to the carpet otherwise. It seems to capable of picking up things that other cleaners can't (including coins, so beware!), making mincemeat of scraps of paper, which it just forces into its tube by sheer suction power. The main floor attachment doesn't quite clean to the edge, although approaching the skirting board head-on does the job. Although the suction is reducing as the bag fills, it's still very strong and much better than my Dyson with its filters half-clogged. The Henry's also very quiet...

Henry HVR 200 Vacuum Cleaner

Advantages: Great Suction, moves around easily, long hose and quiet
Disadvantages: not great on stairs & gets quite heavy,no indicator to tell when he's full

...I think this is a fantastic Vacuum cleaner and would highly recommend it for people requiring a lot of suction, we purchased Henry because we have just started to do a lot of building work and needed one that wouldn't stop working after a few weeks of brick dust like others we have had. We have had Henry for over a year now and he is still going strong. He is great at sucking up smaller bits of rubble and brick dust as well as normal cleaning around the house. The hose is quite long so makes cleaning around the house easy but in my case I have a double winder staircase so find it difficult to clean the stairs, I have to carry Henry up and hold him half way up as it doesn't quite reach the halfway point, also when he gets near to full he is quite heavy, this is why I have rated it good instead of excellent. Overall though it is the best...

...I bought my Henry about a year ago. I am really happy with it! In fcat it is the best hoover I have ever used. The hoover is powerful and the wire is very long. This enables me to hoover my whole flat (which is not small) without unplugging it. It has a number of attachmenst which are really useful to get in all the nooks and crannys. It is suitable for cleaning all surfaces. I even hoover my tiles, wooden floors and my carpet. In the time that I have had the hoover I have only had to change the bag once, this is because it has such a large bag there is no need to all the time. The only down side to my Henry is that it does not fit in my cupboard, where as an up right one would. This is not the fault of my hoover though. It is so good I have told all my friends an family and they are all starting to use Henry rather thans...

Henry the Hoover

...Having rented many houses in the last 5 years I have trialled out many different vacuums that came with the houses. The one I am using at the moment is a "Henry". Looks --------- Henry's are instantly recognisable as the are small cylinder vacuums which look a bit like the shape of a ball. They have a red lower half and a black upper half (or "hat"!) and have the exceptionally cute face on the front with the cleaning tube as a nose!! I think this is a fab idea and makes them instantly noticeable - very well done to the company!! Features ------------ I have seen the "Henry" advertised for about £100. It has a 9 litre dust bag which is easily changed by unscrewing the top half of the cleaner and switching bags. (10 bads for £5.99 is not bad at all either!! - although it is a pain to have to buy them when some cylinder...

Henry Hoover

Advantages: Easy to drag, lightweight, picks up practically everything, lasts forever, cheap
Disadvantages: Doesn't pick up fluff well

...This is the best hoover I've used. I used to clean offices and factories and was always supplied with a Henry. I bought my first hoover five years ago (a Henry) because it is so different from all other brands but is so effective. It picks up just about everything on all types of floor. The only trouble I have with it is that it doesn't pick up ingrained fluff very well, which was a bit of a problem when we moved into a house where the carpets were not as clean as they could have been. To combat this, I just used the hose to pick up dust, and as the hose is so easy to use it really didn't pose much of a problem and I felt my carpets were cleaner as a result. The Henry is so easy to tug along behind you, although after five years the cable is slightly jammed in the mechanism that winds it back in and it's a bit stiff to wind back...

...This is my personal opinion on the rugged Numatic vacuum cleaner called Henry. You will recognise it as soon as you see it because it is the one with the smiley face. This model is available in four different colours, red, green, blue, and the less common yellow. The Numatic Henry is marketed as a barrel vacuum cleaner and is cylindrical, it stands upright, and floats on superb castors, it also has a rubber fender around it, so does not mark walls. HENRY IS THE ONLY HOOVER ANY HOME EVER NEEDS

Advantages: Super Suction, Super Price, Long Cord & Etension tubes, Crush Proof Hose, Virtually Indestructable!!!
Disadvantages: OK So you have to buy bags but they're 9 litre dust bags that last for yonks & they're only five pounds approx for 10.

...An extremely powerful, easy to manouver, robust little fella is Henry. I invested in my Numatic Henry some three years ago after having 2 bagless, dual cyclone vacuum cleaners break down on me each after just 18 months of use (which of course is always just outside of the guarantee period!). The Verdict : The best purchase I ever made!! With three young lads and a puppy as well, my Henry really is put to the test every single day. This Vacuum cleaner has extremely powerful suction and one of the big plus points is that it moves easily over carpet & hard floors. I haven't swept my kitchen or laminate floor in the hall since I bought Henry!!! The Stainless steel extension tubes are about as strong as you can get and the hose reaches right to the top of the stairs. The crush proof hose really is crush proof (tried and tested...
