...Right, those members remembering Hoover Juniors, will know they are a bog standard little vaccuum, correct so far. What has changed is the design, gone is the functional practical austere look, this is the new Doctor Who of cleaners. This is the new improved "Hoover with attitude" It looks modern, stylish even, and I dare say designers have been briefed to give it a sort of "In your face image". While I have absolutely nothing against the idea of a household appliance being trendy, or even cool, I just think that we should keep out feet on the ground. "It is only a vaccuum cleaner" nothing more, nothing less. Weight is only 3.8 Kgs, very light for this type of appliance. Availability is good, you will find them everywhere. As for the price, do not pay more than £35, this seems an enormous amount of money to me, but...

Hoover makes washing machines???

...My last washing machine broke down a few weeks ago and after a painful 13 days my new Hoover was delivered, no it is a washing machine just made by Hoover. I bought it from Littlewoods catalogue and it cost me £299. Setting up and installation First I had to remove all the plastic packaging and polystyrene and place the washing machine near its permanent position. Next I cut the cable tie that was holding the hose in place. Then I removed four big long fixing screws in the back of the washing machine and covered them with a cap that was provided. Next to fix a bit of insulation sheet to the bottom of the machine with some double sided sticky pads and a couple of plastic caps. I did not need to adjust the feet as the washing machine was stable and did not hop across the floor. It only has a cold fill so only one hose to fit...

...young teen took to it easily, always a good thing!! It has one year guarantee, with an extra 4 years on parts, but you pay labour (has to be repaired by Hoover at Hoover prices). They also offer you 4 years labour insurance at about £180, to be arranged within 30 days. What I like best is the big drum size, quick 15 minute wash, very high spin, and fact that the drum is quite high so loading isn't such a strain on the back. The porthole is very wide and the door opens wide, although not to a full 180. All in all I think it was a sound buy. I paid £359 from a local dealer including delivery and installation and taking away all packing. I could have probably got it cheaper from a big online store but I like to support local firms and knew they would give a trustworthy service as I have bought from them before. Hoover TC1209 - Nice cheaper quality hoover

...AI bought this hoover after my trusty Henry gave up the ghost. I was looking for something cheap that would do what it says on the packet (so to speak). I only paid about £40 for this hoover & must say am very pleased with it, it has a 2000 watt motor so the suction is more than enough. The hose length is 1.5m with metal telescopic extension tubes, you can stretch it to hoover most of your stairs but I do find it easier to carry it up and place it on the steps (its narrow enough to stay there without tumbling to the bottom). It also has no problems picking up pet hair. It has a 2 litre dust collection box (bagless) with a washable filter. You also have a variable power option (so when im doing the wood floor I can turn the power down a bit as not so much suction is needed). There is a foot operated cord rewind and on/off control...

Hoover washing machine

Advantages: Energy efficient, can handle big loads

...Not quite a year ago me and my family needed to purchase a new washing machine, so we ended up looking through quite a few brands, as you do. We wanted one that was energy efficient, not to complicated and could handle a vaste amount of washing, as are other one gave out the ghost from over loading and living in a hard water area. So in the end after swaying from one brand to another we ended up on this Hoover brand and i have to say it really has fulfilled all our washing needs. First of all most importantly it can handle a good 6kg to 7kg of washing, which is great where my family is concerned! It doesn't have a fancy LCD display which is actualy a good thing as the controls are less likely to go wrong because you've got less technical things to deal with, it also features a handy balancing mechanism...

Henry vacuum cleaner

Advantages: Well made, reasonably priced, brilliant suction, quiet, good tools.

...I've just bought a Henry after a long but fairly unhappy time with a Dyson DC01 (heavy, noisy, expensive, a nightmare to empty), and now I wish I'd bought the Henry in the first place. The suction is amazing - this is the first cleaner I've used where it's necessary to use the suction-reducing controls because it sticks too tightly to the carpet otherwise. It seems to capable of picking up things that other cleaners can't (including coins, so beware!), making mincemeat of scraps of paper, which it just forces into its tube by sheer suction power. The main floor attachment doesn't quite clean to the edge, although approaching the skirting board head-on does the job. Although the suction is reducing as the bag fills, it's still very strong and much better than my Dyson with its filters half-clogged. The Henry's also very quiet...
