...As an IT Business Consultant I get to do a fair amount of travel to different client sites. To allow me to function effectively my company has issued me with a top of the line laptop. Not the one I've reviewed in the past but a new one. I'll review that in a week or two once I've had a good chance to put it through its paces. Unfortunately no matter how great the laptop, there are a couple of things I hate about laptops in general:- having to use the touch pad and having to enter numbers into a software application such as a spreadsheet. Avent Breast Pads

...When I started breastfeeding I bought the Johnson & Johnson disposable pads. They were great, but at close to £3 for a 15 day (maximum) supply, were getting expensive. After doing some research on the net I discovered that washable pads were available. I bought a pack of 6 Avent pads at Boots for £4.99. They are made of a soft material with a waterproof backing & have a lacy side which aswell as looking a bit more feminine serves the purpose of 'gripping' the inside of your bra to make them more secure. They come with a small net in which to wash them so that they don't get lost among your laundry (vital if you don't want one whizzing out your sleeve in public when you take your freshly washed cardigan etc off!). The pads also have 'built in deodorisers' to control odours. Do they work? Well I suppose they do in that they do soak up the urine and protect the carpet underneath and they are easy to dispose of. To be honest as I have had puppies before I do find it relatively easy to spot the tell tale signs when a puppy needs to go outside to go to the toilet. Plus I follow the rules of putting him outside as soon as he wakes and after a feed and I found that during the first week here we only had two instances when he toileted indoors anyway which makes it hard for me to judge. Breast Pads for your breasts not your bra!

Advantages: Don't show under clothing, reusable, easy to clean
Disadvantages: Difficult to put on, not very sticky, not very discreet to use in public

...a tenner just to solve that issue though and, frankly, I didn't find them beneficial for any other reason. I wouldn't recommend using them on a daily basis. They are impossible to remove and replace discreetly. I had perfected the knack of feeding in public by baby number two but, because Lilpadz are plastic, they can't just be shoved aside gently like a typical breast pad. You would need to actually fish them off your breasts to feed your baby! I've already explained the problems that I found trying to get them to stick so, again, this would be a real problem when feeding in public. Perhaps there is a knack to using Lilypadz but, if so, I didn't develop it and would advise other people to save their money!...
