...Its funny, you wouldn't think that this hotel has this reputation- but it does. Out of all the hilton hotels in the world,Coral hilton @ Nuweiba is the one that has the most returns to! Its 1/2 way between Taba/Sharm on the Aqaba cost. Overlooking a private beach on the red sea. The hotel is 4* AI with recently refurbished rooms. With the Sinai mountains behind you, and looking at the mountains of Saudi across the red sea, its a wonderful & beautiful location to wake up in with wonderful sunrises & sunsets. The staff are all wonderful/friendly and work VERY HARD. The hotel is very clean and the food is excellent. You can actually eat from 6am till 10pm every day!! Review of Hilton Nuweiba Coral Resort, Nuweiba

Egypt, Taba, Nuweiba, the bombs didn't stop us!

Advantages: History, atmosphere, weather.... I could go on!
Disadvantages: Not for you if you hate to haggle!

...Hearing on the news that bombs have exploded with tragic consequences at a destination you have just locked your suitcase to travel to is not the best start to any holiday. We spent the whole of the day before we travelled to Taba and Nuweiba constantly on the phone to our tour operator (Libra Holidays) and the Foreign Office, both advising us that it was safe to travel. Being the staunch Brits that we are, we arrived at Gatwick airport the following day, the two ladies of the party feeling much trepidation, whilst the two men headed for the bar! A couple of drinks later and the Egyptian jokes started to flow 'Do you sphinx it will be safe there? I hope the camels haven't got the hump with us.......' you know the type, this set the mood for our whole week's stay! Our flight was not full - there were many who had decided not to take...

Review of General: Egypt

Nuweiba Hilton Coral Resort (between Taba & Dahab)

Advantages: Sun, warmth & beautiful seas
Disadvantages: Flying in to Taba "International" airport

...saw cuttlefish. There are a good variety of day - or longer - trips to Cairo, Petra, Jerusalem and the Dead Sea, as well as St Catherine's Monastery, at very reasonable prices. For female travellers who are travelling without male company do beware when out of the resort 'tho - my son and I travelled from Nuweiba Port to Aqaba to visit a friend and we had the most unbelievable nightmarish journey there and back. In short, if you are looking for a relaxing time away with family or a group of friends, then you couldn't find better in my opinion. Fantastic value for money and an experience not to be missed....

Review of Taba, Egypt

Sharm el Sheikh, different, cheap

Advantages: sun, coral, hotels, value

...There are now several charters a week to Sharm costing about £230.Try Explorers Tours for 7, 10, 11, 14 night deals. If you take a taxi from the airport to Sharm el Maya, which would cost about £5 you can find good, clean hotels with a/c, fridge, TV, en suite,pool etc for about £20 a night. It's an amazing building site but head for the beach and sea and you cannot go wrong! Best beach for peace,snorkelling etc is near the airport Ras Nsrani. You can pay to use facilities and the reef here is the best I've found in Egypt. Catch a bus or hire a car through the spectacular mountains to Dahab - for camel trecks, diving, beach parties and then head for the spectacular beaches and scenery at Nuweiba. Go to the Egypt Tourist site on the web, find a travel agent in Cairo to book hotel rooms - much cheaper and more fun to tailor-make your...

Barrier Reef Snorkelling 5 hours away

Advantages: Reef Snorkelling; All Inclusive; Good Value; Fantastic Weather
