Problems with NV8

Advantages: Overall good camera..
Disadvantages: Is not compatible with computers..

...The camera itself is actually very good considering some of the turkeys Samsung has produced. Picture quality is quite good as is the interface, features, build quality and its excellent looks. A minor complaint is the lack of a viewfinder. The central and deal-breaking problem however is the software. Unlike older Samsung cameras where one's computer automatically recognised the camera when you just plugged in the USB cable, the NV8 has some very serious driver/software issues, which is why you should test each unit in-store before purchase. The long and the short of it is that all the computers (5) I tried to connect the camera to will not under any circumstance recognise it no matter what you do. You thus cannot download pictures from it at all the USB route. I suspect these problems are a result of the "recharge via the USB...

Disadvantages: touch buttons activate when aiming to take a picture

...I was recently looking to buy a new digital camera and saw the samsung NV11. It is a sleek black camera which looks different from the usual stainless steel slimline cameras I had looked at. It has 10.1 million pixels and many features to help take great pictures such as the automatic shake reduction. When I received it, I was faced with a big user manual on the software disc provided. However, I started taking pictures on the automatic mode and downloaded them on my computer. I was amazed at the picture quality especially when blowing them up. I will leave the manual for when I want to do something more with my pictures. I was surprised at the ease of use for standard picture taking and the incredible quality but I would recommend using the software provided as some of the pictures can look blurry when displayed on other picture...

Advantages: Great pictures, User Friendly, Good Speakers, Many Options, Superb Screen, Good Video, Reliable
Disadvantages: Perhaps not for the more hardcore user, needs extra investment for memory card

...I have owned my Samsung NV3 for well over a year now, and it still manages to impress me every time I use it. As a camera, it is amazingly user friendly, packs a bunch of great features, is highly reliable, looks superb, and is extremely good value. Oh, and its not bad at taking pictues either. ...A few weeks ago I found myself in the airport about to set off on a trip without a camera. I'd been without a digital compact for some time (hence the lack of photos on recent reviews) so thought I'd take a look around and see what was on offer. Dixons tax-free prices beckoned and it wasn't long before I was trying out some of the cameras on display behind the counter. The Samsung NV10 in particular caught my eye and, on paper at least, it was probably the best camera there. Advantages: Superb design, Intuitive menus.
Disadvantages: Image quality, ISO response, innacurate manual setting

...I bought this camera as something to chuck in my bag on trips, as I was using a canon 20d or a nikon f5 on outings and they seemed a bit overkill for casual snaps. I wanted a quality digital compact camera and after checking a few reviews the NV7 seemed the job. I should say that I am used to high quality results from my mamiya RZ672 and horseman 4x5 cameras, as well as the 2 I mentioned above, and of course I will not compare these cameras to a comparatively cheap digital compact camera, but I can't guarantee this review won't be affected by the standards I've become used to. ANYWAY, on with it. If you appreciate nice aesthetics, you will love the design of this camera. Advantages: Slick retro look combining anti shake and optical zoom for perfect photos.
Disadvantages: Little slow on consecutive shots and new interface may take a little getting used to.

...The Panasonic NV-GS180... Having a 3CCD camcorder is the best thing in the camcorder world. 3CCD is the technology used in news/TV cameras to give you that crystal clear cut video!!!
