...O'Neills's bar is perfectly situated to be the ideal meeting and starting point for a night out. It is situated between the Big Market and the quayside. It is an ideal meeting place as it is near all the main access roads and opposite the central train station. Therefore, anybody arriving from all directions can find it easily and quickly.
The bar itself is not flash or pretty but yet caters exactly for the people who drink in it - people finishing work / people just starting on a night out. The beer is beautiful, strong and cold - just want you want in the above situations. It is not my favourite bar in Newcastle but for good beer and an ideal starting point it is perfect....

...O'Neill sports gear always seems to me to be that little bit different. It always seems to make you stand out from the crowd as it is not like the usual Adidas, Nike or Reeebok sports gear.
It is a little bit more expensive than the usual sports gear but from what I have seen the quality is very good.
I first bought O'Neill gear about ten years ago when I bought an O'Neill wet suit. This was a very good buy and the company has a good reputation among people who use their equipment for surfing etc. Since then I have bought a number of T shirts and some sunglasses and I have no complaints about any of it. It is worth checking out their gear so that you are not following the herd like a sheep...

This is a sports jacket, which is very much an outdoor coat. It is lightweight, waterproof and is easy to make compact to stowaway. The secret of this jacket and what makes it different is its design and it is made out of Milatex. It is ideal for days out, holidays, when travelling or just everyday use. Really anytime you want to bring a coat and want to store it and don't have much space as it packs up small.
This coat has some special features that make it better in my opinion than others. It is waterproof and will keep you dry from the rain. It comes down over your bum, which is great, as it keeps it dry. I find this important as it means you are not sitting on wet clothes all day as some coats don't cover this region very well and you still get wet.
No wet gets inside your coat...

...Set in modern day New York, Ghostheart is one of those books that it's well worth sitting down to read when you have plenty of time. I think I read it over the course of a few weeks, and found it intriguing to say the least.
Annie O'Neill owns a second hand bookshop, and life is generally quiet and boring. When Mr Forrester arrives, telling her he knew her father, who had died when she was a kid, things start to turn interesting for Annie. Her outlook on life changes, and when Forrester tells her he has a manuscript that hasn't been published that he wants her to read, he interest is piqued even more.

Advantages: Lightweight, waterproof and windproof, easily adjustable, big pockets, stuffs down really small Disadvantages: Some people find they overheat in it after moderate exertion.
...Berghaus have been one of the most popular outdoor brands for as many years as I can remember, yet the company seems to provide kit that seems as functional on the High Street as well as up in the high country. Take their Men's Paclite Trek Jacket, for instance - ostensibly a lightweight, waterproof mountain walking jacket but which both looks and acts the part down the local shops.
The Paclite Trek is available in two colours: Mazzarine Blue and Black - both have large black panels across the top of the back and shoulders, plus along the bottom quarter length. Said panels are made from an abrasion-resistant material - you're more likely to wear the shoulders a bit because of rucksack or daysack straps. Logos are confined to the usual Berghaus label on the left-hand breast and a single "Gore-Tex Paclite Shell" logo on the right hand...

It is not like other outdoor brands such as Berghaus which have become an almost highstreet only brand so isn't going to attract too many snooty looks from the hardcore outdoors people.
