In my darkest days, pushing almost 25 stone, it was my only reasonably priced, mainstream source of outsized clothes that did not carry the psychological baggage inherent in ?Big & Tall? and ?High & Mighty? type shops. With sizes up to 4XL for T-shirts and polo shirts, and waist sizes up to 52 inches, it was a godsend. The only downside was that ordering from them helped perpetuate the illusion that my size was OK. Advantages: tries to keep the general public informed
Disadvantages: none unless you're a rogue trader of course

Advantages: Great story line, true life
Disadvantages: Difficult to understand

Rogue Trader but certainly not a rogue film

Advantages: Great acting, excellent plot
Disadvantages: A little technical at times but doesn't really spoil the enjoyment much

...Rogue Trader is a film-documentary depicting the rise and fall of a Mr Nick Leeson (played by the excellent Ewan McGregor), an investor for Barings Bank. For those who were living on the Moon in 1995, Barings Bank (of which the Queen was a customer) collapsed that year after Leeson abused his position of trust and gambled customer's money on the stock market. Leeson had it all, good job, money and was happily married but he wanted more but what transpired was not what Leeson expected.... I decided to buy this film due to the fact I take an interest in the stock market. Of course, during the film many technical terms are used and at times I did have problems understanding what was going on but that did not detract from my enjoyment of the film as I got the gist of what was happening. Not that I was around at the time, you understand, but it was a book I grew up with and it never occurred to me that it was already half a century or so old by then. Re-reading it today, I can readily see that it's jam-packed with coeval allusions and expressions that place it as precisely in its pre-First-World-War era as would carbon-dating of the original manuscript. But as a boy, without that historical perspective, I was just enthralled by the timeless entertainment value of the stories. In fact, I grew up with a lot of O Henry, not just this one. In a bibliophilic family with no television and little musicality we would, believe it or not, often amuse ourselves, and perhaps occasionally each other, on winter evenings by reading aloud.
