Reviews of o2 hotel

Great value hotel
Review of Express by Holiday Inn Express, London by afraser

Advantages: Handy location, good rooms
Disadvantages: Not really any

...I stayed at this Greenwich hotel this Christmas and was drawn to it because of its cheap price for quality rooms. I booked through hoteldirect.co.uk. The location of the hotel is excellent. Although the area around it is not very aesthetically pleasing, it is close to the O2 arena and a local retail park which was great for my holiday, yet it is far away from central London so not busy. The hotel is near the Blackwell Tunnel and I was anxious about there being a lot of noise at night, but this was not the case. From the hotel you can see many great things such as the O2 and Canary Wharf, which produced some great shots on my camera. The staff were helpful but not intrusive on my visit. The rooms themselves are probably described as being quite basic. However I am used to traveling abroad to countries like Greece, so I thought... Read review

GIVING OFF THE WRONG SIGNALS
Review of BTCellnet by stencil

Advantages: Wide range of handsets
Disadvantages: Expensive when calling other networks

...that cannot be helped!) Apparently o2 cover 99% of the UK's population! Now onto the extras you will receive with o2, the main ones are FindMe and TrafficLine, which are useful when you don't know an area to well. Just call 1500 and you can find information about taxi's, hotels, cinema's or restaurants, although this service is charged at 35p per minute! Another useful feature is voicemail 901, o2’s answer phone service, which is extremely useful when you are busy or just don’t feel like talking! This service not only records messages from callers but you can also record a greeting that will be played to callers instead of the impersonal, robotic standard welcome. Overall, I will be loyal to o2 for as long as they provide this excellent service, coverage is great and rates are generally low, the only real disadvantage is calling... Read review

The Radisson Edwardian New Providence Wharf
Review of Radisson SAS Edwardian Sussex Hotel, Marble Arch, London by annmarie.wills

Advantages: Stunning hotel, big rooms, security is good
Disadvantages: Room Service and Reception staff don't care!

...The Radisson Edwardian New Providence Wharf is a luxury 4 star hotel. I stayed in this hotel just 2 weeks ago for one night at a price of £150 - I had this on Last Minute.Com as a Top Secret Hotel. I chose this hotel due to the close location to the O2. The location is spot on with fantastic views, little did I know that between the hotel and the O2 is a river! This meant 2 tube rides to get to the O2. The hotel is very glamouros, clean and has good security. Check in is at 2pm, I arrived at 1:55 and they wouldn't allow me to check in - bit mean I thought! Check out is at 11am. They did take my luggage from me while I sat in reception until 2pm. The rooms are very modern with a bathroom that has a shower and a nice deep bath. You have a flat screen tv, access to the internet (you have to pay) and a CD player, alarm and lovely... Read review

Mobile phone network- o2
Review of O2 by zitzong

Advantages: good customer service, good reception, good pre pay deals
Disadvantages: customer services not 24 hours

...INTRODUCTION o2 is the now the biggest mobile phone network in the UK in terms of customers. It has recently over took Vodaphone to become the biggest network. o2 comes from BT originanly, back in November 2001 o2 demerged from BT and what was called BT Cellnet pre November 2001 became o2. Few facts about o2: o2 has 15.1 million customers, at the end of September 2005 turnover was £3.6 billion, an increase of 12% from the previous year. o2 PLC is made up of 4 companies which are o2 UK ,o2 Ireland, o2 Germany and Manx Telecom. SERVICES o2 OFFERS o2 like all over UK mobile phone networks offer pay and go tarriffs and pay monthly (contract) tarriffs. With a pay and go tarriff you will have to purchase a o2 phone and then you will need to top up each time you want to use your phone. You can top up with o2 by many ways such as credit... Review of O2 by KaylieLandymore

Advantages: So many freebies
Disadvantages: nothing at all.

...O2 has to be the best and most generous phone network ever! Especially if you are on pay as you go! Within the forst 30 days of being on O2 PAYG you can go on your mobile internet and download 1 game, 1 wallpaper and 1 ringtone FREE of charge! If you call a lot there is a calling one, as the one above but in minutes rather than messages. If all your friends are on O2, spend £15 or more a month and get UNLIMITED texts AND calls to other o2 phones! If you spend most of your time in a certain place get free calls from this place!! O2 SUCK O2 SUCK O2 SUCK
Review of O2 by TheBlueComet

Advantages: Ooh a free O2 logo to replace your operator logo
Disadvantages: Read the opinion

...I hate O2. I had a great BTCellnet phone. Then O2 took over. I wasn't told about this at all, until being told by mates. Suddenly I find my tariff hiked up. And being bombarded with text message adverts from O2. No I don't want to sign up to Big Brother alerts. And they changed the whole voicemail system - how annoying when having to pay 10p a minute and you have no idea what the new menu system is like. I like how the automated voice "Press 2 for..." is so irritatingly slow so they get your money. And is it me or did the reception become worse with O2... In the end I got so fed up with them that I chucked my good phone of 3 years in the bin to get a VirginMobile. But that's not all... I hate O2 x 2. I had a great Genie account online to send free text messages. Then O2 took over. I wasn't told about this at all, until once... Read review

o2 services select customer member disconnection
Review of O2 by narindar_rull

Advantages: taking my money
Disadvantages: under trained staff

...I have now been with o2 for over 2 1/2 years in which I have had ok service. Being with them for that length of time and being on the o2 Max Tariff (one of the most expensive ones!), my account was upgraded to "Select Customer Account". Being a “Select” customer had some great privileges, like getting 25% off all o2 products excluding calls. Great stuff! Until I tried to claim my 25% in store!! Over the past 2 years I have received numerous leaflets from o2 telling me about this fab discount. During Christmas 2003, I attempted to purchase a Nokia 7210 over the phone direct from o2 sales dept, when I mentioned my discount I was told I could only claim this in store, then I was told they were out of stock and to try one of my local o2 stores, which I did. Maidenhead o2 branch were helpful and sold me a 7210 for a great price, however... Read review

Just the highlights of a horror story
Review of O2 by littlemissh13

Advantages: good tarrifs, can't be bothered to change.
Disadvantages: customer service, or what passes as it, obvious lack of training and knowledge

...the representative got her facts straight and admitted at the time i took the contract out insurance wasn't available online but had since been added. However no notice was given of this to let consumers know, i think you had to be psychic. So i was left with a contract i couldn't use unless i got a new phone...great. Dispite this the next year i renewed, got offered insurance did hesitate but then said yes and thought no more about it.Well my holiday to jamaica comes around and phone gets stolen, as i wasn't using it much i thought it was still in my room so didn't notice for a few days. However as it was a member of staff from the hotel, after visits to a jamaican police station and court i got the phone back, only to find out that the bill was £1200, which should give you some idea of how astronomical it is to make calls. So I ring o2 and guess what... Read review

O2 OK
Review of O2 by ScottyG

Advantages: Competitive Prices, good service.
Disadvantages: Some services can be costly

...I have been on all five of the major ‘pay as you go’ mobile networks, those being Vodafone, Orange, T.Mobile, Virgin and O2 and I have to say that my current network provider, O2 is the best. At first I was a little wary of O2 as I had heard some bad reports about them, but nether-the-less I proceeded in purchasing my Nokia 3410 with O2. Set-up with O2 is easy. When you first switch on your ‘pay as you go’ phone you will be welcomed with a registration screen, here you enter the necessary details and for this you will be rewarded with £1 of call time. A further £4 will be awarded later in the month, once your details have been processed. Once your registration is complete then you’re away. Easy as that. If you purchase a wap-enabled phone (which most mobiles have today) you will receive the first month... Read review

o2 broadband
Review of broadband.o2.co.uk by star_1

Advantages: Fast, easy to install, great value!
Disadvantages: No wireless adaptor included with box.

...Well what can i say. The service has been excellant! Right from the second you place your order till you are up and running o2 keep you informed by txt and email every step of the way. It took less than 2 weeks to transfer from another service provider to o2 and that was over christmas and new year. The download speeds are excellent. For only £7.50 a month if you are an o2 mobile cusomer you get 8mg internet with unlimited usage, a free o2 wireless box and the best cusomer service i have had so far. They even send you txt when your wireless box is about to be despatched and ask if you would like to change your delivery date and time. The disc that comes with the wireless box takes you through the installation step by step, it couldn't be easyer to set up. The only downfall is that you don't get a wireless adaptor with the box....
